Unconventional beauty intrigues me. What makes something unconventional or not? And what makes something beautiful? Is there a line of too unconventional that you can't cross?

People, places, things. Just post pictures of something you think is unconventionally beautiful.

(I just like to look at pretty things and I'm so bored at work.)

I particularly find nature to be unconventionally beautiful. I often times procrastinate with r/earthporn. I would post pictures, but I'm not quite at the post requirement for that.

I'm sorry that I do not have any actual pictures to post, but perhaps I can paint a couple pictures in the mind--word impressionism.

The unconventional beauty that I love is the beauty which has no fear of defying the false authority of social strictures and accepted aesthetic mores. Its defiance does not arise from a reservoir of anxious needs, but it is the propellent that radiates beauty from the heart that is true to itself.

Such beauty begins first as an attitude, and is then displayed in subtle power on the curl of one's lips, or the silent dance of the eyes, and the quintessence of each posture and movement. When upon these soulful displays of beauty a flair of personal style and raiment bedecks the body, so much the better! The more resonant the outward expressions are with the true tenor of the heart, the greater the reverberations of beauty that will resound in the minds of the beholders.

Also, the story and the context can create beauty. The tiniest white flower that squeezes its way through a crack in the cement, greeting the sunlight in the midst of an urban jungle, possesses the same potency of beauty as the most resplendent rose that stretches its vivid petals over an edenic garden. Why? The story, the context that bespeaks the insistence of life to conquer the barriers of limitation. There are people like that. There are some that feel they have lives or looks out of which no beauty can triumph, but be assured, there are eyes in this world that are attuned to see the smallest of petals as the greatest of beauties.

I've always thought that this man'is personality, what he says, and the feeling he gives off to me and gives to this video, was very peaceful and... I can't explain it really...

I think it could be seen as unconventional beauty. It makes me feel at peace and it gives what I can only describe as being a 'simple happy'. I don't know if that's a thing or not.

Anyone else get the same effect?

I'm sure I'm displaying non-nerd cred, but what's r/earthporn?

haha honestly, that must've taken a lot of skills! The way he twirled and twisted. That was cool. And yeah I see what you mean by "simple happy"

Wow, that's awesome. Thanks for sharing it :) What do you think makes their beauty unconventional?
I think it's the disarming quality of the photos and the looks on their faces. It's beautiful, you feel like you're really experiencing seeing them on the street, and their breathtaking beauty, and I feel many people you may overlooked, are put into such beauty when you look at them as such, which makes me wish to see everyone in this way.

Things that cant be figured out easily.
I like that statement and I definitely agree. It's below the surface or something. It's more worth if because it took effort to find.

I just want to speak out loud everything you write. I want to hear the melody that comes from it out of my lips. It's beautiful. But I'm sure you're heard that before haha.

I really do value your feedback, so I thank you! To me, feedback isn't just a matter of having people validate what I write; it's about seeing that what I offer has meant something to someone. Your description of your experience is marvelous, when you speak of hearing melody. Do you know why I find it particularly so? Because just last night, as I had words and phrases running through my mind, I thought to myself, and then said out loud, "Writing is music! Melody, rhythm, cadence!" I was overtaken by the realization, and became fairly giddy over it all! I'm a piano composer as well, and I felt the distinct similarity. So when you said this, it imparts special meaning for me! It's great to share wavelengths with you :) You have great perceptions.

I'm a musician too, so maybe that's why. I completely agree that it's music. Unconventional, maybe, but music still and all.

As far as physical beauty, I really like interesting noses, and freckles. I've always wondered why people try so hard to cover up their freckles.
