I've been wanting to change my username for some time now. (It just isn't working for me anymore.) But I have no idea what to change it to. My usual choice has always been to put my name and a number at the end of it, but I like the anonymity of Personality Cafe and don't want to do that. I thought I was being creative by putting a nickname mixed with part of my name, but I don't like it anymore.

I was wondering if any of you have any ideas for me. I don't want something too long or something with numbers. I know that there are many members here who are much more creative than I am when it comes to usernames.

I recommend visiting the profile page of someone you know and like on PersonalityCafe and asking them to help you get started on choosing a new user name. Private messages to a moderator on PerC (Promethea, for example) are another possible idea.

I usually go look up demon names for mmorpgs, or I try and think of two words that would sound good together.
Like when I played WoW and chose an undead, I chose "BrainSoup" for my zombie's name.

Looking up demon names is pretty creative, though not my style. I'm not looking for something dark or morbid. I was trying to put words together but I'm not having any luck.

Actually, just "moonsong" isn't bad. I'm looking for something with either one or two words. I like simpleness but I don't want to be called something like "shoe", if you know what I mean. "Nightwalker" would either make me sound like a prostitute or a zombie, so that would be no. Haha.

That's good, though it's kind of long and choosing that would be like giving up. I'm too stubborn to do that. I'm sure with enough thinking, either me or another member will come up with something.

But zombie prostitutes are all the rage right now! :tongue: It's a caree-- I mean username you should seriously consider!

You could browse this list for words you like. If you don't like them in English, you could pick a word and translate it in a few languages to see if it sounds/looks better.

If all else fails, Seventh Sanctum has some pretty nifty generators.

That's not bad and is sort of the mood I want to convey. I'm thinking something that's sort of sensory rather than 2+ words squished together to sound absurd or funny.

Thanks Douglas. I like your thought process here. I am definitely a self-protector, but I don't know if I'd like to brag about it. It's a defence mechanism and is something I'm a bit embarrassed of.

How about these names--->dreamweaver, ThrillMe, Moonlighter, LifeIsADream, Dreamer, Angel, Chilling, WorldRocker?

Out of these, I like LifeIsADream and Dreamer the best. I like to look things up and after looking up "life is a dream" (I have heard the saying before), I've found that there's a lot more to it. I don't feel right about using that as my screen name if I don't know anything about the origins. To me, it's like the kids who use lyrical phrases and aren't familiar with the songs that they come from. Dreamer is good but a little too simple.

I went through a faze when I was around 12-14 where every screen name and e-mail address I had had angel in it. So, that reminds me of my childhood and I'd like something a little more grown up. I don't think the others you listed describe me.
