Yeah... what's in the title. ^^'

The nickname's Nephtin, and I just registered here after stumbling over the site while (again) getting a bit unsure about my MBTI-type and trying to find new tests, questionnaires, etc. That's why I'll probably visit the "What's my personality type?" next after this and create a thread today or tomorrow. Most of the more extensive personal information will go there I think, so I'll keep this introduction more on the shorter side.

At the moment, I am 23 years old and live together with my parents in south-western germany (therefore, sorry for possible language mistakes in advance - I'm quite the nitpicker myself concerning german, so yeah x3), where I study history of science, philosophy and literature. The many free that gives me I mostly spend at home on my computer playing games, watching dramas/comics/anime, or sleeping while one or the other video runs along. ^^

I registered here because I'm quite interested in the MBTI-system after I first got in contact with it through various personality tests on the internet. I guess that was about six or seven years ago, and the fact that I'm still not entirely sure what my type is convinced me that it might be time to quit trying to find it out on myself and seek a little bit of help. (that, and because I'm bad with decisions in general~)

When I think about it, I may visit the starter-articles about MBTI and Ennegream on this forum first, because, quite frankly, I thought I knew quite well what the 16 types are about, but a first look at the few threads I visitied up until now taught me otherwise. Well, here goes the plan to start the second thread today/tomorrow...

Anyway, I hope this introduction suffices for the time being. If not, and you've got any questions, just ask. =)

Why the confusion when introversion or extroversion is easiest to start with then how you process information in relation to others and finally if you favour feelings or thoughts most (judging and perceiving is often easiest to define later once you understand how they function best).

Introversion and extroversion are not really the problem; I'm quite sure thet am I'm an I. The others... ugh.

S/N: The tests I took gave me varied results, favoring N over S. Mostly I agree with that, seeing myself as more of a "head in the clouds"-type of guy, but then on the other hand, people around me often say that I am/can be rather sensible/reasonable. Personally, I would like to be both/I have no problem with either, so I really don't know exactly.

F/T: Always thought that a no-brainer, too, because I can be a tad (*cough*) emotional at times and can empathize with people quite easily. Then again, there are times I'm not really in the mood to think about others. Following that, I sometimes think I only think about myself because I'm a.) shy and fear just the reactions of others, not really caring about their well-being etc., or b.) they're close to me and I feel obligated/more inclined to care about them, while everyone else can go home and stay there.

J/P: Honestly, I never really understood this last one. Instead, I just thought of it as something like "how decisive/leader-like/steady are you?", and that more often than not brought me to P. But, then again, the tests I took gave me both in equal intervals, always with low values.

As I said, I'm rather bad with decisions, and obviously don't know as much of MBTI as I thought, which is why I want to read up on it more thoroughly the next days.
