I admire ESTJs for their toughness, thoroughness and well-considered choices. They are nobody's fool.

That's, maybe, an ISTJ. An ESTJ is nothing like that.

I expected that response.
Funny. My ENFP colleague sits next to my desk. One time, she told me that among all her colleagues in our division, I'm the one who is hardly to "feel".

"I can't feel your emotion," she said. "It's scary because when you get upset, I can't even feel it when it's coming. It's like you're just pop up upset. The same thing also happens when you're happy. But most of the time you're like an emotionless robot."

I think (hope) my ESTJ examples were .. not exactly shining ones of the type. So far it seems that the best way for me to deal with ESxJs is by avoiding them as much as possible.

.......fml.
ESTJ are cool imo. Te ftw!
I like ESTJs and I think they are underrated. They are tough, hardworking, and loyal. Although I don't especially like hanging out with ESTJs I find that they are great partners in work and in school projects.

Agreed. Just as long as they aren't your boss...
not particularly fond of them. Amongst the types least able to discern the big picture, I have found them to be intellectually rigid and almost completely lacking the ability to genuinely conceptualise and think creatively. They revel in swimming in their ocean of particulars, most of them irrelevant, unimportant factoids which they seem to love bringing to the attention of others at random instances. They like 'facts', and 'stats' they just don't usually know what they mean, or if and how they can be used.

ESTJs are, indeed, very hardworking and diligent, though most of this hard work is wasted for they do not know how to work efficiently. They probably have the highest ratio of time&effort to actual work produced, of all types. They spend even more time and effort making sure that everyone is aware of just how much they work.
They spend even more time and effort making sure that everyone is aware of just how much they work.
That should tell you something. ESTJs would never ask for it directly, but their main desire is for gratitude. Think about it. As an NT, how do you react when people don't view you as competent? You try to point out how good a job you're doing.

If you're an SJ, how do you react when you feel people don't appreciate how much work you put in? You make sure everyone knows how much work you're doing.

In summary, if an ESTJ is acting like this it probably means they want something from you. So why not just buck up and show some gratitude every once in a while? I know as an NT it can be difficult, but that's part of life with different kinds of people.
