Hi!

I'm planning a birthday gift for my INFP friend. I was thinking of making a so called "book of inspirations" for her. I'm thinking it would consist of inspiring and pretty pictures (most which I would probably shamelessly pilfer from the "INFP porn" thread) as well as quotes and how-to lists! So basically it would be an artsy collage of pictures, recipes, guides and ideas and such! What do you think? Yay or nay?

Anyhow, I'd love it if you guys could share things you find inspiring, or anything you think I should add to my gift to make it as good as possible! So quotes, stories, lists, pictures..?

Thanks!

ED// List of things she's interested in:
Reading
Poetry
Self-help books
Language
Culture
Interior decorating
Fashion
Art & Art history
Health
Cooking

Think this is a brill idea. Would love it if someone did this for me. How about links to music, nothing makes me happier than discovering new pieces of music that inspire me and move me deeply inside. Here is a quote you might like to include.
"Forgiveness is the fragrance the flower leaves on the heel of the one who crushed it." -David Jeremiah

This is a very cool idea and shows that you put a lot of thought into being a friend and giving a gift.

I had a girlfriend give me something like this once. It was a box of cards. The box was about the size of a large matchbox and on each card was a quote like...

"To improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often."
-Winston Churchill

It was done in very neat and stylish handwriting and it took me a while to realise that she had actually made it herself. I don`t how it long it took her to make but I was very impressed.

I think these 3 quotes capture the essence of an INFP.

“While you’re being persecuted, you hate what’s happening to you, you hate the people who are making it happen; you’re in a world of hate. Why, you wouldn’t recognize love if you met it! You’d suspect love! You’d think there was something behind it—some motive—some trick.” -Christopher Isherwood, A single man

Sometimes I can hear my bones straining under the weight of all the lives I'm not living. -Jonathan Safran Foer

Whenever someone who knows you disappears, you lose one version of yourself. Yourself as you were seen, as you were judged to be. Lover or enemy, mother or friend, those who know us construct us, and their several knowings slant the different facets of our characters like diamond-cutter’s tools. Each such loss is a step leading to the grave, where all versions blend and end.” -Salman Rushdie, The satanic verses

Other stuff

Lorca's poems
Chopin
the band Placebo
Vintage clothing, jewelery, everything
Fairytales
Lord of the Rings

Im not really sure but you could maybe make a collage out of pieces cut out from magazines like
Vouge or something and but out letters and make words and stuff. Or you could include a color wheel you made and make it look sort of artsy or something to get ideas for color combinations and stuff... or you could cut out a collage of each color on the cold wheel from magazines but that could be really complicated... or you could write in cool handwriting or calligraphy or something lyrics to a song by a photograph that reminds you of the song. I should probably think of more specific things so I will try to find more ideas and stuff and also more specific stuff. But yeah its an awesome idea and your friend will probably love it

I know I would appreciate it being a journal so that as she's inspired by the stuff she can jot down her thoughts on it. Expressing yourself is important.

Try adding some blank pages for doodles too! Even if she isn't the new Picasso a little drawing space is always fun ;)

One thing that struck me, you could probably add some little recipes for comfort foods and such, like an awesome homemade spiced hot cocoa recipe...or you know, just quick, fun, relaxing, or yummy stuff :3

Seconded, thirded and fourthded!!!

(Heh random thought, but that reminds me of the old child's game where you say "I one the cat?" "I two the cat" and keep saying numbers all around until someone gets to "I eight the cat!" and everyone goes, "You ATE the CAT?!?" Carry on.)
