I'm happy here in my little INFP bubble. It's warm and we have hot chocolate.

Well, politics are rather polarized right now, and anything which can be related to politics (which is quite a lot) is becoming just as polarized in debate.

I used to moderate that forum, it's a cesspool, for your own sanity stay away. It's not just that politics are polarized, many go there specifically to be hateful douchebags. The worst was having to watch vids of women being beheaded, but I rarely found anything that wasn't just nasty, venomous, ill informed bile.

Seems in all a good reminder to be careful who we interact with online, even if you avoid such specific places (never been in there myself). Such worrisome 'individuals' also roam the rest of these forums of course.

It used to be worse in my opinion. The most hateful/offensive people got permanbanned since then.

Ya... Nothing good happening over there...

A lot of people got temp-banned from going there, so it's not as bad as it used to be. It's still best to stay away though, for the sake of your own sanity.

It's the worst place to have debates and discuss current events.

I think (many/most I have no idea anymore) people look up formal and informal logic fallacies and use that as their playbook. Every event and topic is just an excuse to further a black+white agenda, or slam people. It's utterly pointless.

:sad: I was hoping to go there and have enlightening banter with people who actually know how to debate without getting ugly and personally involved! (I was hoping to learn how to better do that myself...) I'm even preparing the framework for a problem-solving venture for the "9 Intelligences."

Yeah, being a mod was something else, having to deal with all manner of obnoxious pettiness while remaining fair and even handed (and polite) is not a barrel of laughs. Remember kids, be nice to your mods, they work hard to make this a good site.

I don't have enough posts to access it, I doubt that it could surprise me. I participated in various discussions concerning even most sacred taboos, most people are simply unable to distance themselves in order to have calm and rational discussion concerning controversial topics, it tends to quickly devolve into insulting and moral preening. I admit. sometimes I myself have problem with that, I'm trying to improve in that regard by distancing myself from the topic and not assuming the worst of person I'm arguing with.

It's called "human nature". I used to post there a lot more and spit venom but I'm so tired of even looking at it and realizing noone will actually take a rational or sensible approach that I simply stopped caring.
