im certain enneagram and music preferences are directly linked. (other personality attributes play a more minor role)

so, what kind of music inspired you?

for me: deeply complexionistic emotional music.

also tell me, what is the source of music that has stayed constantly the most pleasing to you thorought time?

for me, russian pop is always a safe back up when everything else fails to emotionize me.

alternatively, post the song that has inspired you the most thorought your life without ever getting boring.

@Tharwen are you Russian? The song obviously has no meaning.
uh? no. and what? meaning? whats the meaning of life? emotions. and this song has those, therefore youre wrong.

@Tharwen
Do you understand the lyrics? What's the song about?

Edit: Songs that inspire me towards growth? Not sure I have many of that, though I do find this anime theme song pretty inspirational:
i struggle with lyrics even on languages i understand. i just happen to prefer to pay attention to emotions. same goes to speaking. i might speak with you for hours, but i only remember your emotions.

To be honest I'm only selective about Western music. I like our local music more especially the classic local music.

Songs that inspire growth in me are those inspirational song that moves me. Themes about not giving up, dreaming, and winning.

Song lyrics like:

(Eng. Trans.) - "I will fight. No one can stop me. And someday you will see, I am the one who'll win".
@Nonsense

This song is inspirational to me and since I was little the lyrics of this song moves me. From the anime Dragon Ball ending song,

Romantic Ageru Yo (Flying Romantic) also known as "A World Filled with Love"

Life is so exciting and free
There are lots of good things to see
Fantasies, we can make them happen in this world

Let's not lose our precious time
They are really hard to find
Let's all go and make adventures in this life

Oh we may see some mysteries that puzzle everyone
We must be strong to face them all like battles to be won

Aim high reach for the sky now
Let Love teach you the way how
This world can make dreams come true

Oh this world is filled with love
Oh this world is filled with love
So glad to know you do believe
What love can do for you

Oh this world is filled with love
Oh this world is filled with love
Challenges make us strong
The Power of Love makes us win
As it fills us with joy...

Aim high reach for the sky now
Let Love teach you the way how...

*nostalgic... when Love used to be uncorrupted and pure

I'm pretty sure it's quite hard to relate enneagram with song preferences.

Btw here are my 2 cents.

type decides what people pay attention to, but ennea is like the essence. example, usa 3w2, their music is very uplifting in its essence like 3w2's are.

Might be I am lost

There is no reason, no sense
I'm caged in prisons my consciousness built
Always in fearful defense
Always pretending that my will's fulfilled

I have to somehow break out
I have to fight for the freedom to be
What is this life all about?
I have to fight for the right to be free

And so you wonder what have you become?

Might be I am lost forever
Still I'm here to carry on
Even though the road is wayless
I won't doubt, I'm marching on
Might be that I'm lost forever
Walking somewhere far beyond
As long as I roam I don't care
To be lost forevermore

There was a need to be true
I had been hunting for aims that were lies
There is no need to be you
You walk on beaten paths until you die

I went ahead just to see
What I would find there was worth fighting for
I went ahead to be me
And to return to my heart, to my core

Remain in silence, save your words for us
Until the end of time we wander
Roaming to be lost

Might be I am lost forever
Still I'm here to carry on
Even though the road is wayless
I won't doubt, I'm marching on
Might be that I'm lost forever
Walking somewhere far beyond
As long as I roam I don't care
To be lost forevermore

Might be I am lost forever
Still I'm here to carry on
Even though the road is wayless
I won't doubt, I'm marching on
Might be that I'm lost forever
Walking somewhere far beyond
As long as I roam I don't care
To be lost forevermore

Might be I am lost forever
Still I'm here to carry on
Even though the road is wayless
I won't doubt, I'm marching on
Might be that I'm lost forever
Walking somewhere far beyond
As long as I roam I don't care
To be lost forevermore

Whatever matches and doubles my mood at the time. My mood becomes larger than life as I indulge the shit out of it and then transcend it. In the words of Trent Reznor, "The way out is through." My aim is not to get out, it's to go deeper in, to inflame myself thoroughly. Eventually I burst and run out of steam.

awesomeness
Wow never in a million years did I think I wold randomly meet someone else who liked this band! This is also one of my favorite songs by them along with the mission.

For me personally it has to be power metal and folk metal. When I listen to these genres it makes me feel empowered and sometimes if its a song I really like it even makes me start to sweat!

lately been really in to this band fairyland to get me feeling more 3ish.

I do think that enneagram type could somewhat relate to the music you enjoy, take energy from. But I'm not going to be the one to try to figure it out.

At certain points in my life music has definitely helped me to grow greatly. During 2nd, 3rd year university I had somewhat of a "blockage" in my life. It wasn't depression, but I had trouble getting in touch with my emotions and what I valued. Certain very emotional music honestly helped me a ton in getting in touch with myself, I figure it sort of "awakened" me to the emotional power I was capable of feeling.

At that time, I listened to tons of really melodramatic post-rock, and some good "shoegaze" or what have you. Here is exhibit A, this is one my all time favorite songs:

But, I feel like I have become more and more in touch with myself in recent years, so I don't aim to draw very much energy from music. At most, I used it to stave off boredom or get me pumped when I'm working on something.

Also, @rajAs Above and Beyond is awesome, they helped me get through the workload in a couple shitty art classes.
