I work in the lab of a wine bottling plant. Someone has to sample the product.
paid escort part time
Those are dream jobs. I ENVY.

Now if only there is such thing as combined job with double the pay, like sampling wine while escorting, or sampling escort to fit certain wine taste. :kitteh:

Heh, I'm the same - hi5.

My past jobs included:

- Ballet dancer
- Vocalist
- Photographer
- Archaeologist
- Call centre Complaints Manager
- Analyst/Programmer
- ESOL Teacher

Now, back to the programming, whilst teaching on the side.
What kind of an Analyst? Data Analyst?

I worked in IT as a Sys Admin for 10 years. I got sick of being treated as a slave and constantly being on call and treated like garbage because I could keep a cheapskate's 10 year old server running perfectly and performing at modern hardware levels. I have since did a career change and I am now a Program Mentor for WGU where I help students get their bachelor's degrees by settings goals with them since it's self-paced. At least I'm having an impact now and the bonus is it pays what I made in IT and also it's fully work from home.

I'm trying to build my travel blog and do that full time eventually.

I've been following Drew for a while now. Sometimes I feel he paints too rosy of a picture or leaves out details, especially when he went to North Korea. I typically go more in depth and I would be looking to see what is for sale in that grocery store and comparing it to what I've seen. I like seeing the differences in culture. I'm trying to do something more in depth than Drew, but I do use him for inspiration for some things.

Yes, data scientist.
Did/Do you like doing that? My INTP son I think would be excellent at that. I am hoping that's what he goes into school to study. Since he was old enough to read, his favorite hobby has been researching things and looking at statistics. I find little scraps of paper all over my house of stuff he's researching (though he learned that if he wants to keep his research he needs to either put it in a notebook or in notes on his phone because I got sick of finding paper all over my house and started throwing them away).

It can be anything but he tends to really like looking at sports statistics. He doesn't like playing sports but really likes looking at player/team stats and his favorite game to play on Xbox is NHL Hockey so he can set up his own teams. I told him to watch Moneyball. He'd probably like doing what the Jonas Hill character was doing.

Yes and no.

Largely depends on the company you end up working for, and how much freedom you're given to do what you want to do. But I do like the programming, and I do like teaching. So, teaching programming is where it's at for me.

Interestingly, the INTP i dated was the same, he did a lot of betting, fairly successfully, based on stats not 'stupid feelings'. I don't want to encourage your son into being a pro gambler or anything, but interesting how the types really are....like, real lol

I made an apprenticeship as an electronics technician. When I started, I wanted to become an electronics engineer, but now that I have my certificate I totally lost interest in it. So, I started last week a stadium in industrial and management engineering.

With any 9-5 job you're not given much freedom. Sure some jobs allow you to use your creativity a bit more and aren't as factory-like, but unless you live for the job, you don't have a ton of freedom outside of work to really pursue your interests. Also, if you find programming interesting and fun, it won't be fun once you start doing it as a job.

Again, depends on the job.

I did find it fun when the job was more scientific, not as much fun when I was forecasting car sales.

What I'm saying is your whole life is planned around your job. Want to sleep in? Nope, gotta get up for work. It's a nice day outside, want to take a 3 hour lunch break and enjoy things? Nope. Pretty much every aspect of your life is controlled by working around the requirements of your job.

Well, atm I do work from home.

But I agree with what you say. The work culture needs a complete overhaul.

I also work from home. I'm trying to figure out ways I can travel and still work while I get my blog going, but even work from home limits my freedom since most of my time and energy revolves around that and whatever is leftover I get to try to build my blog and travel. In many ways I'm exhausted by the time I reach that point.

Why? I'm doing it as a job and I'm still finding it fun :p

That's good and I hope you continue to find it fun and have fulfillment with it. I'm personally feeling trapped and stifled no matter what job I have since it doesn't have the freedom I'm looking for.
Why not do things self-employed? I wouldn't be able to live if I didn't do side-projects for myself. Currently, I'm building up a more "passive" (it's not passive but rather low maintenance) income right now. Idk... I think I should be completely self-employed in 4 more years. I could do it now but it would just slow down my grow. As I'd like to almost NOT work :)...
