These are excellent, I would also like to build my own home, or maybe just a cabin, but I can't imagine how fulfilling that would be to come home to a structure that I had built with my own hands!

Also I'm so with you on the music/culture festival - the world can always use another music festival :)

thanks! i have been really, um, obsessed with sustainable living lately. it seems like a lot of people are. some things you can do cheaply with reclaimed or naturally local materials is amazing. i'd love to design a cob building, pleach some fences out of saplings, etc... or what the #1 thing in my bucket list should have been: to build a fully functional solar powered treehouse. it's the dream i get up for in the morning, i swear.

I particularly liked the last item on the list. It made me do so.

You wouldn't happen to be a stand-up comedian would you? I bet the neighbors could hear me laughing a block away. Thanks for that. SO funny!

P.S. Love the way you think.

tour the USA & Europe by motorcycle
fly an ultralight aircraft
see Africa, Australia, Japan, Spain, Italy & Easter Island
record some of my songs & put them on Youtube
finish my psychology degree
sleep without prescription drugs
rent a Porshe 911 on a racetrack
get stranded on an island with Salma Hayek

I see maybe 3 of these actually being possible, least likely is sleeping without prescription drugs. WILL NEVER HAPPEN, but I can dream.

My list is pretty short:

1. Climb Kilimanjaro - this will be in the next 5 years
2. Pay off my credit card (for the 3rd time in 15 years) - so far $8K in 4 months. I'm about $800 away.
3. Write my book - this year
4. Retire early - don't know when this will happen but hopefully before I turn 50.
5. Buy a new camera (Nikon D7000) finally - in May
6. Visit Macchu Picchu - next year or the year after
7. See Florence + the Machine in concert - flying to Phoenix in April, and again in July here in town

I usually only have 8 at a time. Once a get a couple crossed off then I think what's the next thing I'll add to my list.

This thread has been great, interwoven with fantastic goals and hilarious thoughts. No one can truthfully say INFPs lack imagination. We are an extraordinary group any way you look at it!

It's a Wonderful Life

These were my desires at the age of 20 and things I greatly value having done today:

1. Have at least one life-long friend of the same sex (for girl talk);
2. Meet and marry a soul-mate that will compliment my life in a beautiful way,
being both faithful and affectionate;
3. Have a right relationship with God, and live at peace with family, friends, and neighbors;
4. Have and enjoy my children (adopted or otherwise);
5. Have and enjoy grandchildren;
6. Write a book (published or not);
7. Visit Hawaii, with its beautiful landscape and perfect weather;
8. Go to the top of Mt. Washington, New Hampshire;
9. Visit Niagara Falls;
10. Visit the Grand Canyon, Painted Desert, & Petrified Forest in Arizona;
11. Visit Great Sand Dunes National Park, Colorado;
12. Visit Royal Gorge, CO;
13. Visit the Mojave Desert in CA;
14. Learn to retrain my mind, due to a trauma-filled childhood;
15. Come to know and understand the spirit God implanted within me before birth;*
16. Be a blessing to someone everyday.

I could be kicking the bucket at anytime, by the way. Except for #14-16, which I am still working on, my list has been completed. Should Jesus call me home tomorrow, I feel fulfilled in every way and would be most happy to go!

While I do regret the many bad decisions and mistakes of the past, I realize that's all part of living.

The Lord has helped me climb out of many a dark chasm. Without His help, my life would not have been worth living. With Him, it truly is a wonderful life.

*Your Sacred Self by Wayne Dyer. This book made such a difference in my life, helping me make the necessary attitude adjustments. Without it, I would certainly not have written the above list!!!

2. Do it.
3. Do it again.
4. Make peace with myself and die without regrets.
