From the looks of it, on the thread relating to iq, everyone has a different idea of what makes someone intelligent. What's the best definition for it?

i think the most important definition of intelligence, at least in terms of being useful to your life, is emotional intelligence.

i believe that whatever "type" of intelligence you are talking about- time and application are two important factors in their application. This is why so many other factors other than base intelligence come into play- for example, a person with high IQ, who latches onto their skilll with computers from an early age, will likely develop that factor to a very advanced level, but may well be lacking in other areas, purely because of time and attention spent. it's very complicated, and this is why education and other such things aren't simple tasks.

personality and "inner strength" of all types come into effect and are as important as "base" intelligence in developing a human being, as are motivations which people often ignore as a factor.
