To be honest, I'm not sure if Millennial culture even ended yet but I want to hear when you guys think it did.

I actually think the 2017-2018 school year is the first pure generation Z school year culturally. I would say Generation Z culture was in full swing shortly after the Parkland Shooting, because I believe that was the first event that true Generation Z members (2000's babies) started making more of an impact, especially with the March for our lives. The first school year that was more Gen Z than Millennial IMO was the 2015-2016 school year, as that was when trends like dabbing and Pokemon GO were at their peak. The 2014-2015 school year seemed like the perfect mixture of millennial and Gen Z culture IMO.

I personally think millennials are the ones reading the Buzzfeed articles that sound something like, "If you are in your 20s and single, you have to see these pairs of slippers" as they drink Rosé and complain about who ruined the economy. I think it was the era that thought it was cool to look hipster-different and popularized the manbun and half-sleeve tattoos and edgy unknown coffee shops... I think Gen Z culture started the second 12 year olds started looking old enough to get into clubs without having an ID check.

I think i will list it like this or it will look like this as i used 16 years old as the one's cultural zeitgeist or utmost peak age for teen culture or peak of your teen times and culture
1946-1964(Early/Late 1962 to Late 1980/Mid 1981 are Baby Boomers's teen culture)-Peak of Vietnam War,Queen,Beatles and etcs including Atari and the rising culture of X like New Wave Music
1965-1981(Early/Late 1981 to Mid 1998 are Generation X/MTV Generation's Teen culture)-Back to the Future,Breakfast Club,End of the Cold War or Fall of USSR(31st December 1991)http://www.firstandmonday.com/december-31-1991-soviet-union-ceases-to-exist/ All Soviet Institutions are ceased to exist) and etcs including NES,Sega Genesis and PS1 and the rising culture of Y such as BSB and SG
1982-2000(Late 1998 to Mid 2017 are Millennials's teen culture like Dabbing and Pokemon Go.However,i still think Pokemon Go and Dabbing are leaning more towards Millennials instead of Gen Z but anywhere,it is not that important.Never have I ever played Pokemon Go before. However,i have seen a number of people playing Pokemon Go)-Pokemon Go,Dabbing and etcs including Dreamcast,PS2-PS4 and the rise of gen z culture such as Nintendo Switch
2001-2019(Late 2017-Present)-Moving or transferred of US embassy to Jerusalem,Recognition of Israel and etcs
if you want to define it by childhood,it will look like this. The cultural zeitgeist for children would be 8 years old
1946 to 1955-Older Baby Boomers or Pre-Gaming(Late 1954 to Mid 1964)
1956 to 1964-Younger Baby Boomers or Pre-Gaming Generation to Gaming Generation transition(Late 1964 to Mid 1973 )-Atari
1965-1973-Gaming Generation Part 1 or Pre-Internet Generation Part 1 Older Generation X/MTV Generation(Late 1973 to Mid 1982)-Atari or Nintendo Home Video or Nintendo Game and Watch(1st-2nd Generation Gaming Console)
1974-1981-Gaming Generation Part 2 or Pre-Internet Generation Part 2 Younger Generation X/MTV Generation (Dos to Windows 2.1)(Late 1982 to Mid 1990 or Late 1989) Nintendo Entertainment System,Sega Mark III and etcs(2nd- 3rd Generation of Gaming consoles)
1982-1991-Internet Generation Part 1/Older Millennials (Late 1990 to Late 1999/Mid 2000)(Windows 3.0 to Windows 98 SE)Super Nintendo Entertainment System,Gameboy,Sega Genesis or Megadrive,Sega Saturn,Nintendo 64, PS1(Original and Slim(Old and New) and etcs like WWW founded in 1991 or Internet Explorer and Internet became popular in 1995(4th-5th Generation Gaming Console(Megaman 3-8)(Megaman X1-X4)
1992-2000-Internet Generation Part 2/Younger Millennials(Late 2000 to Mid 2009)(Windows ME/2000 to Windows Vista)PS2,Xbox,Xbox 360,Wii,PS3(Fat,Slim and Super Slim),Nintendo DS and etcs(6th to 7th Generation Gaming Console)(Megaman X5-Megaman 9)
2001-2010-Internet and Smartphone Era Part 1/Older Plural(Late 2009 to Mid 2019)(Windows 7 to Windows 10)-Nintendo 3DS,Nintendo Switch,PS4,Xbox One and etcs(8th Generation Gaming Console)(Megaman 10- Present)
2011-2019-Internet and Smartphone Era Part 2/Younger Plural (Late 2019 to Mid 2029)-5G

I think real millennial culture died in maybe 2013 and gen Z took off when Trump ran for president/won in 2016. That's just my perspective though.. The stuff in between was a transition period..

True Generation X's culture died in 1994 when 1978s born babies almost turn 16 years old or already 16 years old.And the true Millennials's culture died in 2013 when 1997 born babies almost turn 16 years old or already 16 years old. Some people like INFPsyche think Millennials's Youth culture commenced from Late 1997 to Mid 2016 while Generation X's culture commenced from Early 1981 or Late 1981 to Mid 1997 which i tend to disagree the 2nd most.Anywhere, it is not that important. If i execute or applied 16 years which is the ultimate peak of your teen times for INFPsyche's perspective. Then it would be like this
Feel Free to disagree with me
As for Baby Boomers
it will go like this
Early/Late 1962 to Late 1980/Mid 1981-No Mobile Phones or Cellular Phones Era.(b.circa 1946-1964)
As for Generation X it will go like this
Early/Late 1981 to Mid 1998-Mobile Phones Era instead of Cellular phones's era.(b.circa 1965-1981)
As for Millennials
Late 1998 to Mid 2017-Cellular Phone's Era such as Nokia 3210,Nokia 3310,Iphone-Iphone 7 plus,Samsung Galaxy S1 I9000 to Samsung Galaxy S8+ G955F ,Samsung Galaxy Note 1 N7000 to Samsung Galaxy Note FE also known as Samsung Galaxy Note Fan Edition) N935 and etcs(b.circa 1982-2000)
Late 2017 to current-Cellular Phone's Era Part 2 such as Samsung Galaxy Note 8 N950FD to current,Samsung Galaxy S9(G960F) to current. As for true Millennials culture,it ended on 31st August 2013 whereas True Generation X's culture ended on 5th April 1994 when Kurt Cobain died.
True Baby Boomer's last birth year is 1960 while True MTV Generation/Generation X's last birth year is 1977 and True Millennials's/Generation Y's last birth year is 1996.
So it would be define like this
1946-1949-Early BB
1950-1960-Core or True BB
1961-1964 BB/X Cusp leaning towards Late BB

1965-1968-Early X
1969-1977-Core or True X
1978-1981 according to me are Late X

1982-1985-Early Y
1986-1996-Core Y(If you said True Teen culture of Gen Y ended in Mid 2013 or electropop ended in Mid 2013 then it should be ended with the 1996 born babies turning 17 at that time or still 16 at that time)
1997-2000-Late Y
So mine would make sense as you sense as gen x should end in 1981 and gen y ended in 1996 to make these generation work.

Overall it is around 70% correct. However, you could change the ending date of childhood of late Y from 2004 to 2005.That will be more precise. And you can also change the starting date of Gen Y/Z Cusp from 1996 to 1997 and the ending date of Gen Y/Z cusp to 2001.And as for Core Gen Y, it is for people who were born 1986 and 1992 and the primary audience would be targeted by marketers would be people who were born from 1984 to 1995 to make it more appropriate and precise. As for Early Y,You should commenced it from 1990 instead of 1991 and ended in 1994 as the oldest millennials turn 8 years old in 1990.As for Core X,you can start with 1977 and ended in 1982 instead of 1983 to make it more appropriate too.And as for Late X,you have to commence it in 1982 and ended in 1986 to make it much precise than the date of birth or the culture that you proffered right now.2005-2009 are definitely Y/Z cusp so please make some correction. However, Great Job for the Generation culture.
Now it is my turn
1969 to 1973 is BB/X Cusp(with core audience from b.circa 1961-1965) or Primary Audience would be from 1959-1968 with 1969-1972 leaning towards BB as 1964 born babies that are last to be BB/X but leaning towards BB turned 8 in 1972-Correct and 1973 leaning towards X such as John Christopher Depp II,Michael Jeffrey Jordan and Robert John Downey Jr

1986 to 1990 is Gen X/Y cusp with the main audience being born from 1978 to 1982 and the primary audience would be people who were born from 1976 to 1985 with 1986-1989 leaning towards X(They are for those who were born from 1978 to 1981) while 1990 leaning towards Y(They are for those people who were born in 1982) such as Zhang Ziyi,Richard Allen Jefferson,Fan Bingbing,Ivana Marie "Ivanka" Trump and Kirsten Caroline Dunst

1990 to 1994 are Early Y.They are for those who were born from 1982-1986 with main audiences whom people love to hate the most(90s Kids) as they love to talk about the past being born from 1980 to 1989 such as LeBron Raymone James Sr,Chris Smoove(NBA 2k Youtuber) and Gal Gadot. Not many people use the 1997-2001 definiton for Y/Z cusp anymore though. Most people generally agree that those who graduated high school after Sandy Hook but before Parkland are the real Y/Z cusps.

Don't know too much about how it would be in Malaysia, but as far as the US goes, the transition to Z kids culture did start in 2004.
That's when Cartoon Network's Powerhouse Era and Nickelodeon's Klaspy-Csupo Era came to an end, as well as SpongeBob's golden age with the movie. It was also in 2004 when you had broadband surpass dial up in adoption rates, and when the Nintendo DS came out, and even the PSP came out that year in Japan.

Malaysia,Brunei and USA are quite similar in terms of technology like Broadband surpassing dial up in 2004 in USA since i am staying in Brunei.Even though it surpassed dial up,i still think it is web 1.0 era as 1mb bandwidth is the minimum speed of bandwidth or broadband to run web 2.0 pages so i still think we are still in web 1.0 world in 2005.Please refer to this video for more information about web 2.0 as i think web 2.0 took over web 1.0 in 2006. Or In Brunei, Broadband was launched in 2000 while Broadband was launched in 1998 or 2001 in Malaysia
n 2001, a block called Cartoon Cartoons was introduced. Cartoon Network also introduced other programming blocks including Toonami, Acme Hour, Prime Time, the Boomerang block (now a TV channel) and Cartoon Network Night Shift. In 2003 and 2004, more programming blocks were added. Early in 2004, the Boomerang network launched as part of the new Foxtel digital package. Many of the older cartoons migrated to the new channel. In addition, Cartoon Network for a brief period would show segments of kids getting prizes during the holidays but this was axed from poor viewer response. Cartoon Network had, up until mid-2004, been tied with the Disney Channel as Asia's most popular family network. The removal of older 1950s-1980s Hanna-Barbera programming from the network during this period led to a fall in average audience share during 2004 as fans of older cartoons moved to Boomerang. On 1 October 2005, the channel's 'bumpers' were replaced with 3-D animation promotions that were set in a fictional location called "CN City". A well known scene from a show was sometimes the theme. The "Cartoon Cartoons" moniker was dropped in 2006. On 31 August 2008 the bumpers and ads were updated. "Cartoon Network Theatre" was renamed "Cartoon Network Popcorn". On 1 October 2011, during The Amazing World of Gumball premiere, the channel introduced a new branding, logo, and slogan. In 2013, the US CN bumpers and the Asia bumpers were refreshed.Well Cartoon Network Powerhouse ended in Brunei in 2005 which was one year later. It is almost similar no matter what you say.Yes SpongeBob Square pants's golden age does end with a movie in Brunei. They did sell it in Brunei.Nintendo Ds was started to be sold by gaming store in Brunei in 2004.As for broadband, there were already here in 2004.
