My father (INTJ) is in his early 70s and is very NT heavy, which makes him prone to inappropriate NT humour. To top it off he is also going senile... and I suspect has been for all 22 years of my life.

Here is a list of "inappropriate" behaviors and things said:

- When I was 3 years old he took me to the funeral of a dead relative and felt it was appropriate to lift me up and drop me into the coffin saying "kiss him, go on, kiss him!".

- He felt it was appropriate to show one of my friends his breasts on webcam. Actually he feels its appropriate to flash me if he sees me in town.

- At a meeting in our co-operative community Dad's cold hard reason really came to light. One of our neighbours had died a week earlier and we were discussing what to do with the house. The sons of the deceased had requested to grieve in the house for a year. Everybody had their say, then it was my fathers turn. He looked real proud of himself and looked at the room and said with a straight face "I don't understand why they need to grieve in his house. The man is just a dead piece of meat'.

- He thinks it's appropriate to make Holocaust jokes at the dinner table when Mum has work associates over.

- When helping me choose a wedding dress I asked him to pick one out. He chose a red satin dress which left nothing to the imagination. His response to the look of horror on my face "You've got to look sexy on your wedding day".

- He thinks it's appropriate to send my ALSO senile Oma (mother's side) pornography.

- He thinks it's appropriate to send ME pornography.

- He gave me $100 to steal wine from the church when I was 10.

- He thinks it's appropriate to make sexual advances towards my Mother In Law.

- Upon meeting my in-laws for the first time he had one of my mother's bras on the outside of his shirt... and didn't even look slightly embarrassed.

- Apparently tampons make suitable earrings.

Does anybody else have any stories about any older generational INTJs?

I cannot relate but I honestly was laughing so hard the whole time through. Have you confronted him about his behavior though? The bra, sexual advances, and porn thing are a bit much.

Yes, the whole family has confronted him about his behavior. He thinks everybody else has the problem... not him.

I figure he's old, let him have his fun.....

He sounds amazing...

Are you saying that some of us INTJ might be lucky enough to be amazing when we get older? If so I might need to change some of my retirement plans.

My dad (INTJ) NEVER admits fault to anything. If he messes up then he says we don't "help" him enough.

I also remember him grabbing a bottle of scotch, some bathroom product he got from the 99 cent store, putting in a grocery bag, and handing it as a gift at a woman's birthday party. Everyone there just stared and was like "what were you thinking?".

He always forgets something at the house and gets pissed off about it.

He gets pissed off if he has to take a leak. Sees it as a waste of time.

My dad is only in his fifties so he hasn't gone full senile yet. It's going to scare me when he reaches 70.

Oh man, your dad is awesome! He breaks rules, has a sick sense of humor, and is just great! I got the short end of the stick and ended up with moral NF parents who raised me up to be a balless bitch who'd never get any pussy.

Thankfully now throughout the course of time, I've hardened up, am treading my own course through life and now I enjoy being my ENTJ self.
