Where do you go from here?

You can be whatever you want to be. Honestly Im sure every type has a mixed bag of careers and paths. As for me I want a farm/land, to be a health care provider, I want to learn to landscape/garden. Id like to raise my own wheat, beef, chicken, veggies, etc. Id like to do some humanitarian and environmental work. Id also like to start my own business. To get there I work hard, dream, trouble shoot, found a significant other with similar goals, and just get there. I also want my own kayak, to continue hiking and seeing natural wonders, and getting better at motorcycles. Anyways, I just enjoy myself. I have tons of peace and fun.

I think the real question is, why do you think there's something you should become based on some arbitrary man-made personality system?

I, for one, hate "career suggestions" based on the Enneagram. Don't let some number tell you what career to take. Figure out what will make you happy. If it's being an accountant, cool; if it's being a freelance journalist, cool. Your career should be dependent on your own strengths, not the strengths of your type.

I'm puzzled by the idea that the enneagram would translate to career like the OP suggests. Where does this idea come from?

I'll reinterpret and pretend you were asking what specifically I want in my future. No way I'm speaking for all 6's.

I'm working towards a Mechanical Engineering degree, which I hope to use to develop and improve technology. Energy technology like solar and wind seem really interesting, but there are tons of other possibilities. I'm really interested in actually developing technology, not so much managing an engineering firm. I'd rather be either the person to actually do the gritty work of putting everything together or someone working just a little bit higher up on the design process. A project manager wouldn't be bad either. I just know I actually want to make things. As for my personal life, I want to learn at least two more instruments (probably string instruments) to add to my piano proficiency and produce music of some kind. Other than that, I mostly just care about stability. Maybe children could come down the line but I'd want to make sure I'm financially secure and am in a place during my life that would allow me to actually be a good parent.

It's probably an internet thing. I'd be surprised if credible authors suggested careers like this, though some have probably said which careers are "commonly 6ish."
