From what I've seen both irl and on these boards, I have the impression that INTPs are unique amongst the Rationals for displaying absolutely no interest in world domination, even jokingly. Am I correct in this impression of INTPs, or am I missing something here? And if I am correct, what do you think is responsible for this phenomenon?

B/C it's a pointless endeavor. Why dominate one of billions of planets? Only to die in a small fraction amongst eons of time. Might as well chill out. I generally don't like when one wants control over somebody else for some inane reason.
Exactly what I was going to say. If they're so no point to it why do it? Control over that many things and ... well humans and possibly other life forms would be tedious and annoying.

Thank you for your response, but I am bewildered and aghast. No... no dark fortresses, legions of terror, superweapons, and ruling over the cowering, miserably disenfranchised masses with a iron fist? Not even in jest?

Seriously, what fun is that?

I would like power for the freedom it affords me.
In terms of telling others what to do on a daily basis?
Sounds like it'd take a lot of work and be annoying.

I'd rather expend the energy doing what makes me happy.
As long as people leave me alone and aren't being bastards to others I don't really care what they do.

Does wanting to be the figurehead while your minions do all the work count? Though even that sounds tiring, and manipulation from the shadows will eventually get tiring too.

Then again I only have these thoughts when I have woken up far to early for to long and have to sit through classes that do not intellectually challenge me while others who have killed 99% of their brain cells through their own choices are asking the most mentally handicapped questions you can think of while being told I am not working up to my potential because I cannot focus on the (mostly) bs they are teaching..

If I am removed from the high school scene for over a week these thoughts go away. Unless I go to a mall..

I would only take over the world if I could be at 2 places at the same time...so I can take over the world and chillax at the same time.

So if I invent a method of stealing myself from alternate universes or timelines, I'll be running all this shit in a day. In the meantime I'll be playing Bioshock.

I'm sure anyone wouldn't mind being the controller of a totally dominated world, but I think the fun lies on the process and strategy to attain such a feat rather than being at the point of total control; because at the point all the fun virtually disappears and you're left with nothing but governance and maintaining stability with your empire. I suppose if you are a merciless, megalomaniac dictator then it wouldn't be so bad; but the joy for me lies within the conquest and defeating enemies. Or if you're the idealistic type you can attempt to create your own utopia or dystopia like in SimCity.

I think the leadership role is far removed from our main priorities Mr. OP, I suppose if we all have no other choices we probably could step up and take lead but I think we'll (or at least I will) be happy with a library, a computer, a workshop and a hot sexy companion.

We INTPs enjoy other things than world domination; physics, math, philosophy, serial killing. Such stuff, you know?
World domination seems so boring. And that responsibility would really be annoying. An think of all the people you have to deal with in order to conserve your domination.

I'd like to the rule the world, but only so I could be a mad dictator. I would immediately order the construction of the starship Enterprise, Tuesday would be compulsory funny hat day, failure to comply results in a decade of hard labour. Other than that, I'd be benevolent and let people do what they want with their own bodies.

Of course I'm far too lazy to actually pursue any of this.

I also might have myself crowned as Emperor of the Universe, on the off chance that it scares off hostile aliens.

Also elections would be held every six months, actually elections would be held all the time, most of them would be pointless, but at least it would make people more exposed to politics, and therefore, hopefully more inclined to participate.

No way, that's what subordinates or "Cronies" are for.

I am not for domination, I am the counterpart, I am against all forms of establishment, I cannot just watch this world as it is, it still needs so much, but people are so dumb, blind sheep that are just ignorant, selfish, sceptical (I am sceptical but still I see the potential to improve things). The bureaucracy taking over the world GJ GJ...

What is the outcome of educational system is just horrible you know binary university system pass failed just makes me laugh so hard, getting one question out of 50 makes me laugh so hard, if you pass you are qualified, if not then not.... We don't even fucking consider each other a human being, we don't pay respect to each others word... Today I had a really critical presentation on educational system of western world, I just went so deep, analysed all the possible levels, angles, criticized on all levels from elementary schools to universities. Gave alternatives, possible solutions to problem and the teacher commented with words: Oh man it aint that bad ! It is tradition, it worked for so many years ! Well the point is it is falling down hard and I feel it, I warned them...

I avoid situations where I'm the leader. All I want is to teach, be taught, and play with cool toys.
