Would you prefer to lose all the memories you have now or never be able to make any new memories?

It's a tough choice. On the one hand, I'm only like 1/3 of the way through my lifespan so it seems like a stupid choice to not be able to make any new memories, especially when my adult life has only relatively just begun. And on the other hand, the thought of forgetting all of the friends I've made and the good times I've had is really sad too. But I would also be able to forget my abuse and my trauma and have a fresh start.

So I think I would rather forget all of the memories I have now than be unable to form new ones. I have a LOT of years left to live. The only reason to choose to keep the memories you had are if you are older/most of the way through your lifespan anyway, or if you've already experienced everything life has to offer. Any friends I have now that I would forget about, I could befriend again and just make new memories with. And I could even experience the thrill of reading a good book, watching a good movie or playing a good game for the very first time again. That would be neat.

losing all the memories I have would be tragic... losing the ability to make new memories would be crippling

I'm used to tragedy so I'll take the former

Never being able to make any. With cameras and other recording devices, at least I'll can still capture the moment!
