Dragged over from the ISTJ forum. Where Bogspirit suggests that INTJs would be never/less likely to have a stickied thread of that name on their own forum. And it was suggested that I take it over here to ask you guys.

Have most of you settled into this type pretty firmly for the most part? Of course there are always people who are straddling functions and uncertain as to their type.

My point was that a thread of this title would be unlikely as a successfully stickied thread on THIS forum. But then being a scientist by nature, I used N to make this assumption or provisional judgment.

I had an emotion today, OMG, I must be an INFJ!!!! Oh, run for the hills!!!!!!!

Ya, its kinda stupid.
Each individual is unique and will display each of the cognitive functions at varying points in their lives, to doubt your type because of any one thing you do is just not a very good understanding of typology. It is the overarching "pattern" of behavior that is an "indicator" of type, not each individual thing you say or do.

So why do y'all think the ISTJs would have a thread by that title actually stickied - and INTJs would not. That's really my question.

Because typology is about patterns, ISTJs are sensors. Patterns take longer to grasp for sensors then they do for intuitives, who automatically view things by patterns. INTJs look for the patterns of typology, ISTJs look for the details. Any sensor is more likely to have doubts about their type because of one, or even a few, discrepancies. Intuitives are more likely to recognize that deviations still occur within patterns.

I'm a clear INTJ. Every single personality test I've taken has told me I'm an INTJ. I match up perfectly with the INTJ profile. I doubt I'm an INTJ....never!

I doubt that I'm an INTJ when I actually engage in small talk - though I go back and realize that I've been taught to do that since birth (then again question my INTJ-ness in wondering why I haven't simply discarded that habit for its lack of value). Same goes for when I'm (actually genuinely) friendly with others, both in real life and on these boards (smilies, making videos, and the like).

Most poignantly, I doubt that I'm INTJ when I see certain amounts of conformism to concepts of what some believe the type ought to be - in reading the Keirsey descriptions, finding those stupidly cynical "motivational" poster spin-offs with dogs, babies, or whatever on them, among others. I look at it and think "yeah sometimes I think that sort of thing," maybe even often in some cases, but I often feel as though I don't need the descriptor "INTJ" to remain comfortable with my style of living and thinking. Then again, I've given a lot of thought to MBTI, so maybe it's one of those situations we NT's have where you "figure out" whatever you're researching and move on to something else you haven't yet researched.

I doubt I am an INTJ when I find myself procrastinating beyond logic or cry at a sad movie!

I don't doubt that I'm an INTJ - although I have non-INTJ moments, but most of those can be explained by either a) my shadow type trying to make an appearance, or b) Fi taking over for the moment while the rest of me is at a loss of what to do with it.

I don't even know what to say.

This thread is awesome. I can't decide which is better, this one or the INTJ video thread.

Too early to tell, maybe.

When I show emotion and when I find my self gossiping. Then I realize that i am just following patterns that i see in every day life
I love gossip its so juicy. I really like starting fights between people for my own amusement and I'm always smart enough it make so its not traced back to me.
