    that still doesn't make sense

most times these parades are held in big cities- not the beach

if it was at the beach this would be a bit more understandable. i can't help but think it's more about the "shock value" than it is about gay rights. also, many compare the struggle for marriage equality to the civil rights movement, but little was done for "shock value" back then. it was too serious for levity, and too important for jokes. i'm probably reading way too deep into this, and i do know there's plenty of people at pride dressed normally.

I really like the idea of mixing and blurring boundaries, and I really like when people have the spirit and the courage to play with it. I generally find androgyny attractive from both genders. Some men look better in women's clothes than most women do, too, honestly (same for women with men's clothes). I do sometimes have an "ick" reaction when someone has both very feminine and very masculine elements in their appearance, and I feel bad for that because I don't oppose it on a theoretical level.

God, yes. I've just changed jobs and wear casual jeans to work now and it's fantastic the amount of pockets and depth of pockets I have. And I clip keys and a knife to my belt holes and strut around like a dude and I'm so gloriously happy. I love dressing up in skirts and dresses and jewelry and makeup as well, but I like my clothes to be useful in the day-to-day.

Live and let live. If it's not hurting anyone, then I couldn't care less what people choose to do. Personally I would not do it, though my reasons are a bit more complex than the average dude.

It is exactly this, and it's horrible.

I don't care since it's none of my business what people choose to wear. My clothing judgments are, does it suit them and do they wear it with comfort (as opposed to being comfortable clothing since not all clothing is comfortable)? If the answer is yes to both, more power to them.

I think that's really a lot of the reason. People like having an excuse to get away with crazy stuff and feel safe in a group. Else you wouldn't see so many things like underwear runs, dress runs, Halloween stuff, zombie stuff, toga parties, the list goes on. In the case of wearing nothing but a thong, I would have to think maybe there is a bit of underlying exhibitionist streak or it's a statement of availability for some "fun" after the parade (seems like a lot of those parades end with parties or bars). I have no problems with thongs--they can be comfy--but no one should know because they should be covered with some pants!

Also, I had no idea how strongly people felt about pockets. Guys can't have pretty dresses, ladies can't have pockets, nobody can have their cake and eat it too.

Being born and socialized female, I don't understand why a male would opt for the extra time and effort that goes into dressing like a girl (or worse, being perceived as a girl). I usually assume it's a fetish and that they associate it with submission or meekness.

If they have a babyface and an androgynous frame then I want to bully them, nicely.

If it's really noticeable then I feel they went too far and it almost looks like a caricature of some sort. Like a guy who dresses as a girl and embodies an overexaggerated stereotype as a parody.

    One word: CROSSBODIES

I can't handle handbags either. My shoulders/arms are narrow and skinny, so they never stay on.
