    Google +

I'm not very much into social media, but I really like that there will be "circles" on their platform, where you post content to specific groups of people, while keeping it hidden from others. It will be interesting to see where this goes.

yeah, I think its one of Google's best attempts at a social network. I doubt it will ever be as popular as facebook, tumblr and twitter etc because Google has probably forgotten that the average person doesn't want a super awesome social network with highly customised features, they want a restrict simplistic program that looks cool and requires no energy.

I'm unable to try it out, but it definitely looks interesting.

Maybe this is why Facebook overtook Myspace. Myspace was anarchy with its different profile types; Facebook looks orderly and clean with its restriction. Perhaps Google + will do "highly customizable" better than Myspace.

People have to except that in this new age of technology privacy doesn’t exist, that there are no ‘safe social networks’ etc, we can’t hide behind a computer screen anymore and we shouldn’t be blaming networks like Google, it’s not like anyone else could do a better job.

You want privacy? Buy a diary.

google has had Orkut for a while now (since 04), and thats got a decent following in more eastern parts of the world , specifically india

    Orkut

maybe google+ is their entry into the western market and a more clear competitor to the facebook juggernaut (which apparently exceeded googles traffic at some point last year )
