Liking something ironically and the stupid people who dont get it

I put this in trend since its discussing a meme called creepy pasta. So I thought it fit here. Now on to what I was going to discuss.

Now there was a story about two idiot girls who killed their best friend believing they would become proxies to Slenderman. Now we all know that no matter what we are into there is always going to be idiots who go and ruin it for everyone. What I find more irritating is these people were not even intelligent enough to get the joke. Now creepy pasta came about because of something written about Edd Ed and Eddy. It was kind of like a conspiracy theory that overgeneralized Edd Ed and Eddy.

Basically it said that there was more to Edd Edd and Eddy and that they were all representations of ghosts in limbo. Now originally when this was posted everyone was inflamed saying "Are you really stupid enough to believe this is what Edd Ed and Eddy is about?" Months later the creator of the original post came back to respond to the post. Which he apparently posted thinking no one would actually ever read it.

He explained to everyone that it was a joke, that he did it for a psychology project and wanted a reason to write about his favorite cartoon, and he did not actually believe anything he wrote. So after this everyone was like "Hey thats pretty funny and really creative". So eventually people started making up stories based on other characters like rugruts, conspiracy thoerys, original character stories, horror stories and urban legends and this all fell under the meme which they named "Creepy Pasta". Yes, we all know it sounds like haunted noodles.

However a lot of these stories no one actually takes seriously(Even when the readers are pretending it is serious), we just think its funny to pretend and make up stories that we can all listen to. Clearly though idiots will always ruin everything. Stupid is a plague the world is forced to live with. However we cant really blame it on a single trend, since the people who ruin these things are just dysfunctional. This stuff happens again and again and what it often results in restrictions on people who are not stupid and innocent people getting hurt. Now saying these kids are crazy is far far too kind. Yet we dont anything about stupid, we just shrug and say "Stupid does as stupid does".

A lot of people who read conspiracy theories think the creators of them are just crazy. The reason Creepy Pasta is actually fun is that we are basically laughing at the concept of conspiracy theories and are trying to see how much more absurd we can makes our own theories. Now while one could argue that conspiracy might exist, or some of them do happen. A lot of people have ideas like "Obama is secretly the devil come to poison your coffee" and its just like REALLY? Do you REALLY believe that? The likely hood of Obama being the Devil who wants to poison coffee is really far fetched and terribly unrealistic.

I think perhaps we should teach critical thinking to people at a young age, since the fact that anyone on this planet is really dumb enough to think anyone who writes this stuff is serious needs serious help.

Not sure if you're rambling about idioticy or your own superiority to said or both. Either way, outside of that I fail to see any deeper premise to be found here

Rhetorics such as Sarcasm and/or Irony may always backfire. If it does it's not necessarily correct (nor wise) to blame it on the recipient over the sender. If one wants to be clearly understood might as well put it straight forward. That generally solves all communication issues there could potentially have been, unless willingly and maliciously misinterpreted by the recipient in such instances.

No actually I just find it irritating when people do stupid things and ruin everything for the rest of us and they do this with EVERYTHING. I dont understand why people cant develop critical thinking skills. What is so hard about this? Its ridiculous. The original fandom developed over a joke, with that in mind why would anyone take the joke seriously? If something is a joke, than ovbiously its not serious.

Give someone a forklift certification: They do something stupid on the forklift and hurts someone
(Are Forklifts bad?) No but someone really stupid ruined it for all of us

So what are we suppose to do? We cant ban everything, since this happens with everything. I just dont understand why people need to reminded of the simplest things. Do we need disclaimers saying cartoons on tv are not REAL? We have to tell people that coffee is hot which people should be able to figure out "No duh its hot". This has nothing at all to do with me. Its the fact that people are so stupid and than stuff like this happens. Why is it so hard to stop being dumb? If you make something as a Mockery, why would people take it as fact?

This has nothing to do with physical objects or matter. It would probably fall under sociology/psychology.

I'm mocking you, but look up the electrical properties of cells and neurons.. and the word "abstraction." A scientific/quantitative study of stupidity could be described as applied physics, as could psychology depending on how you go about studying it lol.

Anyway, I'm here for the circle jerk. Peoples r dumb, yes.. profound, novel, and inspired thesis.

Not really, this has nothing to do with it. Physics would have to do with the objects themselves and how they react with each other involving things like motion and matter. It also has nothing really to do with biology. Its more behavior. A Study of intelligence and critical thinking would probobly fall under sociology/psychology. It would not fall under Biology/Physics.

Physics/Matter and how objects interact with each other. Like if I kick you will you fall over and why
Biology/What you are physically made up
Sociology/Psychology: How people react/behave with each other

So there is a clear difference there. BTW the fact you do not understand how things are broken down, or how physics applys to the world is your own faults, not everyone elses.

You're just missing the point. Do you think you're not made up of constituent particles that obey physical laws? Again, abstraction. Treating certain parameters as constants to simplify existing systems and make their study more efficient is how these disciplines came to be distinct. It's a mental process that's central to intelligence. Again though, I wasn't really being serious...
