    ALWAYS wanting to be well-dressed

Is this a common phenomenon? Particularly among 3w4s?

I honestly can't walk out to get a bag of chips at the grocery store without making sure my outfit is at least solid. I wake up and go to school everyday dressed as if its a Friday night...A formal event with a dress code im not too acquanted with in 2 weeks? I'm already planning and studying the exact details of what I'm going to wear in hopes that I have THE best outfit, or at least one worth complimenting. I honestly feel like a huge asshole 90% of the time whenever I'm out in public, because I Almost always have a well-thought out outfit on. The funny thing is though, I don't really seek to draw attention or "innovate" with the clothes I wear, I always go for a classic, fitted look that suits me and has a sense of character. Nothing more, nothing less, and people just sort take notice of it.

this is pretty much how I will dress everyday once I reach my mid 20s

can anyone relate to this? Or am I the only one here?

I think you DO want to stand out but not in a weird look at me way. I understand how you feel because I feel like that although I'm not as motivated as you are(I think I've managed to convinced myself that I don't give a f*** but I really still do, unfortunately).

I think the thing is, you want to be known as having good taste. You want to quietly stand out. You want to look good without trying to look like you care about looking good.

    Is that right?

I'm ridiculously into being well dressed. My wardrobe is painstakingly assembled as that of a subdued New England prep which, in a Florida high school, is classy as hell. Once I got taller than 6 foot, and got more confident and started getting lots of female attention, I decided to construct a wardrobe to properly package the whole image. I also started rowing crew, got myself on homecoming court, and added a few friend groups that I can network with (which changes your image to a surprising degree).

Sort of this, but I also want people to know that I know that I look good, without being all too obvious about it.

^I understand because me too! I mean I don't want to be like oh-I'm-hideous because that's too fake and obvious. But I don't want to look like I'm vain. It's like I know I look good, but I'm effortlessly good.

Haha. To be more concise, I don't want to just look good. I want to look good in a certain way determined by me.

Well, of course. "Looking good" is a subjective term.

I'm more two-faced about this. When I have business with people, I dress nice. When I'm out on errands for the weekend, I dress homeless.

I don't worry about running into business colleagues because none of them live in my general vicinity, so chances of meeting them in a shopping isle are nil.

I'm obsessed with dressing well. I've grown accustomed to wearing dress shirts, suits and ties to work after spending 10 years at a very conservative company. Today I work at a more progressive telecom company which has a relaxed dress code. I still wear a button down shirt, slacks, dress shoes and killer belt every day. Usually I throw in a tie as well if it completes the outfit. French cuffs with nice cufflinks are also a common entry to my wardrobe.

I dress very much like the picture @cudibloop posted in the OP most of the time.

I also play in a band wear we all wear dress clothes with vests and fedoras, etc. Peopel would say I look like an old-school gangster or a wedding party escapee.

And yes, even when I'm just going out to the store to pick up some milk I at least consider accessorizing appropriately. So what I am wearing is pretty much ALWAYS in the front of my mind.

That sounds exactly like me. I'm a 3w2 though. I also have high-bow taste in food, not sure if it's related.
