Any 5's with 1 and 4 as part of their tritype? If there are what is it like? For me I spend a lot of time in my head and away from people and I often do research out of curiosity. And I have good artistic taste (including dark art) though I'm no artist and I often look for the meaning in things. I also sometimes feel the need to advocate on the behalf of others (if only I wasn't lazy and careless).

    Hi!

I was looking for anyone who might share similarities with me. My tritype is 4w5 5w4 1w9. I might not be a 5 exactly, but I just felt like talking to you. I see you wanted to delete the thread?

All three things you mention are similar to me:
    -doing research out of curiosity
    -being in my head ALOT
    -wanting to advocate for others

I also like art, but I am not the best at it. I strive to find connections between things, admire beauty and can be very imaginative when I do not have to be so logical.

My biggest struggle is knowing when it is perfectly justified to be emotional and when to be more level-headed and rational.

Do you have anything to ask me?

What do you like to (or want to) advocate for?
What do you like to research?

    Jsyk I'm a 5w4 4w5 1w2.

    1. I’ll talk about art first. It depends on the style. I like art that means something to me. Something that catches my attention and provokes feelings in me about what is being shown. I especially like symbolism, imagery, blended colors, depth and imaginative works. I can also appreciate art that tells a story or message. Sometimes the painting or drawing is of something simple or realistic, but the creator has drawn it in such a way that it seizes to be just an object. Being able to see emotions and creativity in intent in art is what I like. If I could pick styles I admire it would be Romantic inspired art and literature as well as Magical Realism and Impressionistic works.
As for beauty, I am enthralled by contrast. The biggest example I can give you is dark love. One of my favorite writers is Edgar Allen Poe. He tends to combine death, love and tragedy in a way that I find beautiful. Another example of this is my love for black lace. One of the reasons I love it is that I like that it is feminine, but has lost its purity and innocence by not being white. The idea of being a martyr or having a martyr complex involving willful suffering in the name of love or duty also attracts me. This is especially true of the literature that most captivates me. In regards to beauty, however, there are other elements that I like. For example, I love the idea of colors. I am not dramatic or dress like a rainbow, if that is what you are thinking. Lol (I like more neutral colors). But I adore the fact that color exists. A lot of what I find beautiful has to do with color. I find it to be like a language: you must pick the “best” word to express proper meaning. In that way, colors speak to me. They affect meaning. I also tend to adore feminine styles on women. I find rain and nature beautiful in that they are untouched by man and free-spirited to be governed only by the laws of their own making. I find beauty in connections between ideas. The best example of this would be epiphanies. I find beauty in serendipitous events, in selflessness for a greater cause and in authenticity despite ample criticism.

    2. I wish I had a more defined answer for this, but I am still in search of it. The best thing I could say at the moment is that I want to inspire people to see life differently. I don’t need them to change, but to understand. Understand what? Understand that there is more to life than the shallow connections and wants they have been settling for all their lives. That to feel is to be alive. That there are things in this world you will never make sense of, but that there is peace in that. That all the time you waste on things you hate or are doing to please someone are minutes that will never come back. That there are things much grander and much more important to live for than money, fame or popularity. I think of writing, or leading an organization, or simply awakening the dull spirits of the people around me with my talks. That is how I want to use my creativity. And I do not mean to come off as elitist by any means. I am simply someone with a different perspective that too often gets thrown aside for the current trend of the masses. To inspire, lead and help people grow is what I want to do in some way, and I believe that I will be bettering this world we live in.

    3. I believe much more in ethics than morality. Plus, I don’t particularly want to list my morals in public.
    Code of Ethics
    1. Self-conscientiousness. Try to be as authentic as you can to yourself given the situation. Do not make yourself into someone you are not to please others or to fit in.
    2. Integrity. Have integrity in your words and actions. If you cannot uphold it, do not promise it.
    3. Passion. If you gain no satisfaction or feel desire to pursue an activity, do not continue doing it. Find another way. And what you do, do with passion and drive.
    4. Respect. Do not steal, harm, offend or discredit others for selfish reasons. Every person has value and deserves to be treated with decency− it does not matter if you like them or not.
    5. Trust. Trust yourself even when the entire world is against you. Do not second-guess yourself. But also learn to find trust in those that have earned it, with caution.
    6. Honesty. Strive to tell the truth in all matters of your life. In the end lies do more harm than good.
    7. Courage. If it is something you have not experienced, seek to do it at least once, given it upholds the other principles of ethics listed here. Do not let fear prevent you from living.
    8. Friendliness. Be courteous, amiable and kind-hearted to others who have shown you no reason for hostility. However, be wise of others’ intentions.
    9. Empathy. Allow yourself to be sensitive and understanding of others. Give support.
    10. Dependability. Keep your promises and do not overcommit and not meet acceptable levels of expectations. Be responsible and have work ethic.

    4. This one is interesting. Some things would be:
    - Reasonable preservation of natural land and ecosystems even if it has to come at the expense of some urban planning and human growth. I realize that housing, human centers, businesses and construction will continue to be needed as people move or expand worldwide, but I think it is reasonable that we do not destroy the Earth. I preached sustainability years before it became a trend.
    - Funding or preservation of libraries and the physical written work, which includes newspapers and books. I love the internet and the new digital world, but it is not free of government, power and control. Being free in that regard is something I admire. I also enjoy the physical aspect on written publications and their longevity.
-Similar to the top one, I am an advocate of reading in childhood and the empowerment of children’s imagination.
-I am against Genetically Modified Organisms, the deterioration of the U.S food system, and advocate for sustainable, nutritious diets. (Even though I advocate for this, I am not a vegan or organic food aficionado).

    5. I like to research psychology, food culture, intertextuality/archetypes, socioeconomics, business strategy, feminist theory (I have friends who are feminists, but I am far from it), earth science, sociology, generational studies, health and literary analysis.

I don’t feel I’m an expert anything, but I am very curious and look up anything I want to learn. Usually something in my life or what I read makes me inquisitive and it becomes a catalyst for my research. For example, I began learning about personality theory after I took a MBTI test. I took the test because I figured it would explain why I am so different from other people and bring light to a reason for my interpersonal problems. I feel different from others because I have a hard time holding on to female relationships, can be insensitive (supposedly) and frequently feel misunderstood. I recently had a friend end the friendship even though me and 2 others had legitimate concerns about her. That's why I decided to look up personality theory, and now here I am. So this is one example of how it usually happens.

My usual approach begins in an academic, analytical manner involving books, institutional publications, film, journals, websites and theory. Then, if I have questions that come up while researching or feel the need to find insight, I will ask like-minded people for comments or dive into discussions with whomever wants to talk until I reach some conclusion. For many things I do research on I am still not done learning. I am ok with that. My goal is to learn regardless of what others think or how long it takes. Some things I am very interested in get postponed for months or years until I gain insight/new world experience.

I hope you learned something about yourself through me. But if not, still, you're welcome. Have a great day.

I relate to quite a bit of that. Except I don't really care about academia, film journals, books (at least not ones without pictures), the environment, and I don't care too much about what you put on 5 but I will research if I ever really have to. And I try to be empathetic though it's not easy, courage can be hard for me what with my social anxiety, I'm not very passionate, and my work ethic is poor. Also I have to fight temptation to believe what others believe (a weird temptation if you ask me) just cause they say it, online or IRL. Also I don't care about romance or tragedy much, but I am attracted to sad things with good reasoning and/or deep meaning. Also I prefer dark colors and cool colors, but I like other kinds of colors too.
