    Sevens- Boredom and Stagnation?

Any people with the Seven enneagram who feel quite stagnant. Stuck between freedom and all the options available so you end up just wandering around inefficiently, with your time wasted on doing menial things?

Exactly the post I was looking for or wanted to create. Glad I found it. The title of the post I was about to create: "Bored, bored, and bored like hell!"

I wanna go out there and do so much - travelling alone to a few new places, go out on a few dates - what if the men hesitate to ask me, I'll ask them out, I only want some fun, do some online shopping and real world shopping, try out a few new workouts, learn something new...

All this I wanna do! But i'm stuck with my laptop with so much of boring work that I'm not even opening those documents and the deadline's nearing!

How do I overcome this hate towards boredom? Please motivate me or give me tips if you have any?

Haha it's funny isnt it, afraid of stangnation but you end up causing it because too indecisive. It happens.

Simple example, I wanted to eat something yummy today. Like I woke up and thought to myself, today I'm going to eat something fancy. An hour or two passed and was still thinking about it, checked the freezer once or twice to see whats in there, maybe some fish, maybe chicken, ooh i have mushrooms in here, and that yummy rice mix. Still didn't take anything out to defreeze. Then it was 1pm and i had to go to work, so i went to work, came back at 5 and at which point I was starving so I had salad and cold turkey meat. Real fancy.

Wait, 7s can't just sit around and not feel bored? You don't ever just sit there and think?

There are a lot of stereotypes about the seven, one of the main ones being that sevens incentive to their active, on the go lifestyle is anxiety. I'm wondering if the anxiety can have the opposite effect. Because I know for me, I'm like, "I'm going to buy this book and read it", "I'm going to play this video game"," I'm NOT going to do nothing as always", but then when it actually comes to the doing part I'm like, "but even that bores me" and end up in this bizarre fit of walking around the same spot not knowing what to do.

Hell if I know. It's a never ending cycle for me. I just end up swearing obscenities at my brain and then I'm like "no! I've got to do this!" then I walk around. Basically I give in to my boredom every 5 minutes or I go to an environment where I know I can work and won't get distracted. No music because once that webpage is loaded or my phone in hand, yep I no need for an oracle to predict this near future.

That's why goals are really important..

I think you should set goals for yourself..

Whenever i don't have goals, i feel useless in my life..

It's my worst nightmare. When my whole schedule is filled with work and play, I feel alive.

When I'm just at home watching a series I never got round to watching, I'm all itching twitching

    and wanting to attack man.

    Good God no.

I once missed the last train home because my phone died so I couldn't go online for entertainment as I usually do when waiting or walking (yes, walking - even from one room to another, one eye is kept glued to Youtube) somewhere, and I decided to go and buy a takeaway despite not knowing where any were just so I didn't have to stand around at the station for 25 minutes. Walking around and looking for something gave me a change of scenery and food to look forward to, and I would rather risk missing the last train than have to stand around somewhere quiet and boring on my own.

Thinking isn't the problem, it's not having an interesting or fun idea to spark off and set the thinking in a fun or creative direction. Without some kind of new external input to work with, the mind goes over stuff I've already thought about or boring mundane stuff, and that's absolutely intolerable to me.

As for how I overcome procrastination, Ritalin is the only thing that works for me. But that's obviously only an option for those of us with ADHD.
