I haven't seen a good test. Your best bet is to read about instinctual stacking and figure out which fits you best. SX/SP tends to be more energetic (typically in bursts) and seeks to connect with people in ways SP/SX tends not to. SP = you are first and foremost concerned with yourself, SX = you are first and foremost concerned with connecting deeply with someone. Sometimes it's a close match between the two. If you're an INTP as your profile would suggest, the SX component may tend to end up being channelled into something non-human (Ti).

Also when stressed out, SP tends to seek solitude, whereas SX can often try to find someone to "share their sorrows with". (For me, "shared trouble is double trouble" tends to hold true, although I acknowledge that this is generally not the case with the human species.)

    Oh God that sounds horrendous

edit: can you give me a scenario in which I could tell you how I would react that would determine my type?

edit edit: I'm a very burst kind of person. I binge. Watch a season of something, then no TV for an equal time. Binge on people, then be alone. Binge on cooking great food for a week then eat from a packet for a week. I'm just very bingey, honestly never thought about it. Is that what you mean by bursts or is that a different mental illness all together.

I think this is best examined in the bigger picture, i.e. looking at all of your life to see which patterns emerge. A typical scenario might be something along the lines of... Someone you want to like you (whether romantically or otherwise) invites you to participate in something, and then you find out it will also involve people you don't want to spend time with. Someone with SP/SX would probably be less inclined to go (I personally wouldn't) whereas an SX/SP could be less likely to assert their own preferences and go anyway (there is individual variation of course). In short, SP is more assertive of its own preferences whereas SX tends to cave in if it involves a connection that is deemed important. Often subconsciously.

Of course, 9w1 is not an assertive type by definition. Even SP/SX 9w1s tend not to be openly assertive. I'd say SP/SX 9w1s can be very defensively assertive, i.e. decline to participate and prefer solitude, and leave situations where their preferences are compromised - but probably not step up to the bully and hit back, which is more of an 8 thing.

Nah, binge behaviour is typical of all 9s.

What I mean by bursts is that SX-firsts tend to feel profoundly energised by certain connections (usually people, but I think other possibilities exist), and can often be lethargic in the absence of such connections. Which, depending on their other personality traits, may happen more or less often. It happens to me as well, but I think it's more over the top for SX-firsts. SX is generally more up-and-down energy wise, SP tends to be more even.

if somebody I liked invited me over and then they said at the last minute other people were going to be there I would automatically feel like they didn't like me as much as I previously thought, and would probably not go because... how many other people do you need to have a good time. I've obviously been made redundant. I would probably tell them too late for them to do anything about it or say something came up. I'm not sure if that's very personality defining sorry.

Hahaha! The irony of a Social-last seeking to "make a gathering" to meet "like-minded souls."

Ah well, why not huh? Just prepare for the lack of social cohesion lol.

let's see, well I like writing, making music, learning about politics and history, foraging and nature in general, dancing terribly :) the most important things to me are fairness and truth, umm and I also have a strong attraction to surrealism like you mentioned in your first post. my favorite author is Haruki Murakami and I like stuff that is offbeat and a little abnormal.

Hi I tested out either 9 w1 or 1w9 and still trying to figure out my type. I have quiet an obsession with music of all types and love reading about personality theories. I also like reflecting on deep philosophical ideas and abstract ideas at times. For example religion and history are areas that I like to reflect on as well as do research on ancient civilizations. Anything involving anthropology really fascinates me as well as history of a country. Though I study science, science is my worst subject besides just studying the epidemiology of the disease which is the only subject I liked in my field. For fun, I like to spend it with friends and family but in small groups and in tranquil environments, the party club scene many my age have aggrevates me actually. Speaking of surrealism I have gone to Salvador Dali museums, and find them very interesting and cool, unlike other art museums :)
