ISTPs are drawn to games where they can jump in, discover things for themselves, and master the tools to eventually create something huge and wonderful.
Favorite genres: Procedurally-generated open world, Action-adventure sandbox, City-building simulation
Games to try: Starbound, Terraria, Cities: Skylines
It's close enough in describing my approach to games (figuring out the rules and exploiting them), but I prefer the ISTJ selections (Favorite genres: Real-time strategy, Action-adventure stealth, Tactical RPG). And none of them mention arcade and Shmups, which are my favourite.
I really like RPGs, because you have to guess what the best dialogue options are, make your own decisions, and get more involved in the interaction between all the characters in general. Other games tend to be more detached and I find I don't agree with the attitude of the character. So regarding the article, I favour the ENTP and INFJ labels. But games where you can choose any character you want to fight with is fun. Like smash bros or pokemon. I am not stuck with one specific character throughout the entire game. I also like guitar hero and similar things, because you can get more involved.
*sees a picture of Portal where it says INFP*
Aw hell no, not that mainstream shit.
*exits out immediately*
I'm a lazy fucker, by the way. So fucking lazy I got a lazy boyfriend and layzed around playing Bloodborne on his lap. But I guess playing hard games isn't very lazy to you.
