yeah, this is why I think 9 as opposed to 8 (INTJ 8s are far from "let's be social and help humanity")

This is why why I thought 9 too. There are references here in the early days to "kill them all" and in the past I've been more like that shit who told a man with dementia that he repeats too much and he's silly. I try to do better and I don't say the first thing I'm thinking about here. Oh man if I did.....

I've met some INTJ's who are SHOCKINGLY social, especially females. They have a mask of friendly, laughing, jovial, helpful.

under that about 4 layers is a snarky person. under that somewhere is someone who gets really fucking sick of all people once in a whlie, and needs a lot of quiet time. Under all that, is even more.

For a person to have all those layers, they tend to be VERY intelligent using any measure you wish.

A lot of INTJs talk about having social masks and being chameleonic (the women that is). If you are an INTJ woman and you haven't been called a weirdo, or different then you either couldn't be one or you are lying. That's my take.

3s move against. They move towards others in competition with them.

Malcolm X is textbook CP 6 moving towards people. They want to belong to things.

I've never known 3s to move against people. they're generally very sociable and don't like to cause trouble.

    PS: Malcolm X was an 8 (8w7 So/Sx or Sx/So), not a cp6.
3s are an aggressive and competitive type.

The personality types corresponding to Karen Horney’s Aggressive strategy are the Three, Seven and Eight. All three are generally bold and energetic and respond to problems, threats and obstacles by expanding and reinforcing egoic boundaries. In other words, they see the world as offering up that which they need and their personal philosophy tends to be that the best things come to those who actively go after them. Therefore, they will assert themselves and demand that their needs be met.

3s are competitive, but they aren't generally aggressive. their ruthlessness is more subtle and doesn't manifest itself in social interactions (an extreme example of this is a politician, someone who is ruthlessly competitive, even Machiavellian, but puts on a friendly face to get elected)

as for Karen Horney's work, I'm not a fan of it in general, and her take here is completely off
    1) 3s are not bold. they are hyper-conscientious and reluctant to express anything which has the possibility of making them look bad.
    2) 3s don't generally make demands. the exception is that they may demand things after they have put in the work and feel as if they were overlooked, unfairly compensated or left out of the credit
    3) 3's egos are seldom shown externally. most present as more false-humble and, if anything, would rather appear 1-ish than 8-ish or 7-ish

a lot of what was said her applies to 2s, 7s and 8s more than 3s.

If they weren't bold, they wouldn't achieve anything. They are much bolder than 5 for example.

They are aggressive in that they are imposing their will on the environment in some way. Trying to affect it. Trying to get ahead in it. What you are describing is still moving against people. Which 3s do. Doesn't matter if they are conscientious about it or whatever they are still doing it.

OK guys you're boring me now with the talk about 3s.

Does anyone think I'm relating to 5 so much because of being unhealthy or because it might be in my tritype?

We've established I don't really have the 6 thing happening because....well let's face it, I'm not that healthy and surely it would have popped up by now for you all to say I was one.

not necessarily. the majority of successful people are more, shall we say, pro-social, and make money by giving people what they want and telling people what they want to hear.

    they can be.

sort of. I'll admit you have a point here
