Is it possible for ISTJ to have a creative job?

I got ISTJ and I felt it was wrong so I redid it and still got the same result.
The reason I'm confused is that I don't prefer hierarchy or any other traditional jobs which the result states otherwise. I do think it helps me to have a clear blueprint when I work, but I also enjoy vagueness and improvision when it comes to writing a story, which is a big part of my job.

    The answer is yes.

Anything is possible. Study out the functions to see if you relate strongly to Si-Te.

    Short answer: Yes.
    Long answer: Also yes.

You are yourself before you are any personality type. Type descriptions don't define us, they don't tell us what we're good or bad at. They just guess. They're extremely limited. Don't worry about it. Keep doing what you like.

The test is problematic, and generally gets at least one attribute incorrect. From the sounds of it you sound like more of N type. Look at the cognitive functions, look at whether you relate to NT, NF, SP, SJ grouping, do a questionnaire. NF are the most common writer types, but INTJ could also be good at it.

Any type can be good at it. Creativity isn't type limited, and intuitives aren't the only types capable of creativity. I wrote a sci-fi/fantasy book in 2012 and I'm an ESFJ both by functions and dichotomies.

I agree that exceptions to the rule are not that unusual, its just that the MBTI tests are not that accurate. So the probability of being mistyped is greater than the probability of being abnormal for type. When something doesn’t fit it usually means you havent figured it out yet.

I would say it is not impossible but not very likely with inferior intuition. ESXJ still has tertiary Ne, it is in better position for that.
I as ISTJ don't see myself working in creative job ever. For long time i thought i am just stupid because of that, but looking through function analysis it makes sense.

Don't let MBTI affect any meaningful decisions you make in life and don't let it limit you in any way. It's bs theory anyway.

I'm sure they can be creative if they really want to be.
