    What's my type form

    Hello, people.

I'm a active member of the 'What's my personality type' subforums, and have noticed that many people here have some trouble describing themselves in a objective way to people reviewing their information in order to suggest a best fit type. That way, we have to take on information given by the person, which sometimes, may be biased or confused.

In order to aid the typings here at the 'What's my personality forums', I've taken an old questionnaire, which can found at this thread . Starting from there, I suggested many new questions, deleted old ones and tried new strategies to form questions that would guide a person reviewing the questionnaire to have a good information base to suggest a type.

After a lot of changes, I now show you the final version of this questionnaire. It shall be used by people trying to discover their type here at the 'What's my personality type' subforums, and we expect that it turns out to be a very helpful tool for everyone.

When I say final, I'm aware that this questionnaire may not be in its most perfect shape yet. It's final for me because I've achieved what I believe to be acceptable for other people to try using. If anyone wants to change the questionnaire for the good, it's ok, as long as it helps other people.

Without further ado, here are the questions.

    1) What aspect of your personality made you unsure of your type?

    2) What do you yearn for in life? Why?

    3) Think about a time where you felt like you were at your finest. Tell us what made you feel that way.

    4) What makes you feel inferior?

    5) What tends to weigh on your decisions? (Do you think about people, pro-cons, how you feel about it, etc.)

    6) When working on a project what is normally your emphasis? Do you like to have control of the outcome?

    7) Describe us a time where you had a lot of fun. How is your memory of it?

    8) When you want to learn something new, what feels more natural for you? (Are you more prone to be hands on, to theorize, to memorize, etc)

    9) How organized do you to think of yourself as?

    10) How do you judge new ideas? You try to understand the principles behind it to see if they make sense or do you look for information that supports it?

    11) You find harmony by making sure everyone is doing fine and belonging to a given group or by making sure that you follow what you believe and being yourself?

    12) Are you the kind that thinks before speaking or do you speak before thinking? Do you prefer one-on-one communication or group discussions?

    13) Do you jump into action right away or do you like to know where are you jumping before leaping? Does action speaks more than words?

    14) It's Saturday. You're at home, and your favorite show is about to start. Your friends call you for a night out. What will you do?

    15) How do you act when you're stressed out?

    16) What makes you dislike the personalities of some people?

    17) Is there anything you really like talking about with other people?

    18) What kind of things do pay the least attention to in your life

    19) How do your friends perceive you? What is wrong about their perception? ? What would your friends never say about your personality ?

    20) You got a whole day to do whatever you like. What kind of activities do you feel like doing?
I would also like to thank everyone that gave me a hand in this project. I'd like to thank especially to @vel , @penchant , @penpaperaser and @CeresZal for all the objective feedback they gave me at the 'Le questionnaire suggestions' thread. Without you guys (especially you, Ceres) I may have abandoned this project a long time ago.

I'd also like to thank those persons that tried the questionnaire while it was being developed, as it helped me to see what was not working and try to make it better.

    Looks good to me.

I would expand question #17 "What kind of people do you dislike?" to something along the lines of "how do you form opinions/judge other people, what about personalities of others do you tend to value and what do you dislike?".

Question 3 "Think about a time where you felt like you were at your finest. Tell us what made you feel that way." and question 17 "What makes you feel inferior?" are on same subject (evaluating self) and can be combined into one question.

Question 16 "What would your friends never say about your personality ?" and 19 "How do your friends perceive you? What is wrong about their perception?" can be combined into one question since they are also on same subject (perception others have of yourself) something along the lines of "what do your friends and family say about your personality? how do you think they perceive you? what would they never say? what do you think is right and wrong about their perception?"

Question 11 "Are you the kind that thinks before speaking or do you speak before thinking?" can be expanded to "do you prefer one-on-one conversations or conversations where several people are speaking?" to further check for introversion/extraversion.

I'd also add a questions along the lines of "what hobbies/activities/non-activities you engage in outside of school or work? why do you enjoy these activities?" and "when you see your friends what do you talk about? is there anything you really like talking about with other people?"

Question #2 there is a typo there, "live" should be "life".

Questions #8 not very informative in my opinion. I've met very organized and self-driven Ps and NJs who would think of themselves as sloppy and disorganized just because their Se pulls them to do something new rather than follow routines and schedules. Question #13 can probably be expanded from a concrete situation to a more general situation, but may be it is ok, i'm afraid of introducing a lot of N-bias into it, may be to the contrary survey should mention a few more concrete situations.

Yup, sorry. It was really a typo. It shall be corrected.

Also, I'll be adding some of the changes that you've proposed, vel. But i'm not making any major changes, as I'll be taking this test as done. I'll merge that 'friends evaluation' questions, and change some ordering of the questions so they stay coherent to the point.

Thanks for your support again, vel.

Now, all we need is to have this being used by the members of this subforum. It will be of no use if it gets forgotten. So, my plea for the readers is asking them to suggest this questionnaire when people make new threads asking about their type.

Thanks for this! I'm sure it will be really useful. I'll be using it in my thread a little later, when I'm not so lazy.

Even after months of introspection and self observation I'm struggling to answer some of these questions, which means they are good questions!

My thanks go to all involved

This needs to be stickied. I had to dig through several pages for this questionnaire, haha.

OMG, can this be stickied, please?
It looks very helpful (haven't tried it yet) and this way the subforum might be a bit less cluttered. :)
All that aside, like you said, it'll help people evaluate themselves objectively, give them guidelines, help them know where to start, etc.

    THANKS for this!
