I'm pretty sure I'm an ExFP but how do I know for sure?

because ESFP sounds just like me, but take away all the "living in the moment" stuff, and ENFP sounds a lot like me as well (but it's hard to tell based on the biased N descriptions).

I think I'm either of these types, but how do I know for sure?
Sometimes I wish there could just be a sure-fire method and we'd know for good, y'know? I don't want to settle on a type that could be wrong, and I'll be lying to myself, y'know?

There's no absolute way, but think about how you perceive the world.

Do you find that things are the way they are unless you act to bring about change, or is the world full of subjectivity and interpretation?

Would you rather be doing something or talking about all the things you could possibly do?

Do you find yourself focusing on what exists and what you can do to alter what is, or are you more likely to become easily distracted by alternatives?

How much of a reason do you need for doing something? Where do your objectives/goals come from? How likely are you to make them real?

Is art/music/literature appealing to you because of its style and message or because of the way people can interpret it in so many ways?

Do you find yourself reading into others' motives and making a lot of assumptions about why they do what they do, or are you more likely to immerse yourself into their world to understand what makes them tick?

Do you ascribe motives to inanimate objects (for example, a toaster) or does that sounds silly?

If you were walking through the woods, would you focus on how you feel or do you imagine what others might feel if they were with you?
