Can't define my type. Frustrated. Help!!!

I know there are so many Ďtype meí threads, but anywayÖ

I am new to PerC and fairly new to this mbti thing.
The first online test I did was on last january. But until now Iím still unsure of what my type is and itís annoying me. Iíve done several tests online but no longer trust the results. Iíve studied the functions as well but I am still confused.
I donít know why this is bothering me so much but I really really HAVE to know what my type is. I found this questions online so I guess Iíll just answer them and hopefully you guys can help me to settle this down once and for all. What type am I???

    1) What aspect of your personality made you unsure of your type?
I donít know. Every time I decide on one type, there will be a wave of doubts drowning me causing me to keep questioning my types. For example I decide I might be an ISFJ, but then I will think, what if youíre an INTP in Ti-Si loop? Maybe youíre an INTP instead! And when I decide I am an INTP, the same question appears in reverse..what if youíre an ISFJ in a Si-Ti loop instead???? Or maybe you're an ISFP? ISTJ???An E??? EVERY time. I feel like I want to decide what my type is SO bad, but at the same time I donít want to or I canítÖ Really frustrating. I also feel like I can relate to several types as well and I keep being tossed around from one type to another. Currently though I think I might be an ISFJ despite not really relating to the 'nurturing' stereotype. But I don't know...ISFP maybe..?

    2) What do you yearn for in life? Why?

Probably being free of responsibilities and obligationsÖjust to be free to do whatever I want without feeling I have to do this or that. I also want to make a big contribution to the humanity. I have a talent in drawing and art, and I donít want to use my talent just to survive this world. I want to use it to create something for the benefit of the humankind. Something, new, original and awesome.

    3) Think about a time where you felt like you were at your finest. Tell us what made you feel that way.
I donít know if I ever felt that way. I guess when my ideas bring benefits to the society and are appreciated and praised by people?

    4) What makes you feel inferior?
People of my age who are more successful or have better ideas than me, especially if I know them. It kinda makes me feel like Iím losing the race.

    5) What tends to weigh on your decisions? (Do you think about people, pro-cons, how you feel about it, etc.)
Depends .When Iím buying things usually I look at the price, if itís cheap the Iíll buy it, it itís expensive I will consider if I really need this thing, how much money left on my savings, is this thing useful, what are the consequences of spending money on this thing..I also listen to my feelings, is buying this thing feels like a right a decision, should I wait until next month..I donít know..

When deciding on more serious stuff like college major I think about what I really want, what is true to me, not just practical, would I find it enjoyable, what would be the consequences of choosing this major, what are the possible careers for this major, where this major can takes me to, do I like the career choices, can I make a living with it..

    6) When working on a project what is normally your emphasis? Do you like to have control of the outcome?
Again depends. if I don;t care about the project, I am happy to let someone else takes charge and I will not mind being bossed around. Although I will try to do as less as possible lol. But I will try to make a contribution and be responsible. But I think the person I am working with also plays a role. If I donít like them I will be lazy and unwilling, but probably still do the work because I donít want to get a bad credit from the authority. If I like the people then cool, Iíll do as best as I can.

If I care about the project, actually I kinda prefer to do it alone..But in a group I also donít mind not being a leader. But I would probably take more initiative and be more active. If itís something I care about I put emphasis on the ideas and originality.

    7) Describe us a time where you had a lot of fun. How is your memory of it?
I have this hobby ever since I was a kid, that I like to create fictional characters and universe in my head and daydreaming about them. I literally spend 98% of my time just thinking about this universe I create. And I love it. The time when I get to design my characters, design the fictional country they live in, creating the cities and what they look like, naming them, designing the alphabets for the fictional language I made, adding the vocabularies, thinking about the plots for my characters adventuresÖis probably the time when I feel the happiest. Itís just SOOO fun. The process of creating them. Whenever I finish creating something, a country for example, I always find another thing to create and to add to that universe. I even do intensive research in order to develop my universe. I put so much thoughts on this thing and I love it. This whole thing It makes me feel so alive, so excited, no kidding. I kinda think I might have maladaptive daydreaming though..Öcause Iím kinda obsessed with this..? Sometimes I feel like I waste so much of my brain powers daydreaming. But it just hard to stop

    8) When you want to learn something new, what feels more natural for you? (Are you more prone to be hands on, to theorize, to memorize, etc)
When learning practical skills of course hands on. Even better if there is someone to guide me, but alone is fine.

When learning new theories I find it best if I got someone to teach me, instead of me reading about it by myself. I mean, I like to have a private teacher who would teach me about the subjects and we would be like having conversations about it. Therefore I can ask him questions whenever I feel like it. I donít memorise, I try to understand the subject.

    9) How organized do you to think of yourself as?
Not organised AT ALL. My desk looks like an overflowed dumpster, literally. And I am not that kind of messy person who Ďknows where everything is despite being messyí. I am messy and I donít know where my stuffs are. Once I was stopped at the airport security because apparently there was a kitchen knife in my cabin baggage. I honestly didnít even know there was a kitchen knife in there. Apparently I forgot to take it out after moving out from my old apartment.

    10) How do you judge new ideas? You try to understand the principles behind it to see if they make sense or do you look for information that supports it?

My first initial reaction is usually whether that idea sounds cool or not..lol. Then Iíll look if it make sense or not. If it make sense then Iíll look at the information to support it to determine whether this idea can work in the real life or not, I guess..

    11) You find harmony by making sure everyone is doing fine and belonging to a given group or by making sure that you follow what you believe and being yourself?
I am not sure. I donít know about this. I donít thinkÖI care that much if everyone is doing fine, but more about whether Iím doing fine.. . Sometimes that means not doing what I want..Usually I will keep my beliefs but won't go all the way to defend it either, unless on certain circumstances where the line is cross. I'm really not sure..

    12) Are you the kind that thinks before speaking or do you speak before thinking? Do you prefer one-on-one communication or group discussions?
Definitely think before speaking. Often I think too much I end up speaking nothing..lol. I prefer small group discussions where I can just sit at the back, listening and observing while someone else do the talking, and only have to speak when I have something to say.
But one on one can be fun too if the topic is interesting and the other person I know well.

    13) Do you jump into action right away or do you like to know where are you jumping before leaping? Does action speaks more than words?
I like to know first. I do think action speaks louder than words.

    14) It's Saturday. You're at home, and your favorite show is about to start. Your friends call you for a night out. What will you do?
Depends on where the night out takes place. If itís okay I think Iíll go. I can re-watch the show again someday.

    15) How do you act when you're stressed out?
Angry. Rage. Throwing things. Super cranky. Hating everything. Questioning the purpose of doing the thing I hate. Questioning the purpose and meaning of my life. Fiercely critical to self. Trying to figure out why I act that way and why this thing is causing me lots of stress. If itís so stressful I will cry thinking why I cry, and that I am a loser.I cry only when I am alone though. When I am with other people I act cool and un-bothered.

    16) What makes you dislike the personalities of some people?
    I dislike people who :
1.Display weak traits, like easily cry, or show the world that they are scared.

2.Materialistic and care to much about their looks. I am a female but I have this resentment toward other females who put lots of time and effort on make ups, buying branded clothes and stuffs. I am not jealous of them I just see them as shallow.

3.Ignore evidences that are clearly in front of them. Ex. My father snores, but he doesnít believe it. I recorded him snoring one day and made him listen to it but he still didnít believe he was snoring. WTF.

    4.Act like know it alls

5.Being fake just to be polite. When I am having a convo with someone and I notice or suspect that she pretends to be interested I will stop talking and be silent.

6.keep telling me my mistakes like ĎI told you soí or Ďsee, you shouldnít do that! Look what youíve done..í as if itís not bad enough already to acknowledge my mistake myself. Give me your solutions then!

7.Keep pushing me and telling me what to do.

8.Micromanaging me through their checklist. ex. Have you had your lunch yet? Have you clean your room yet? Have you drink 5 glass of water this morning? Where are you?? arghh

    17) Is there anything you really like talking about with other people?
Yes. MyselfÖhahahahahah. Or anything related to myself. I actually would like to talk about the products of my daydreaming as well, but so far I always hesitate to share them with anyone.

    18) What kind of things do pay the least attention to in your life
Probably food. I mean what kind of food I eat. I donít care what I eat for breakfast lunch or dinner really. For me eating is like a chore (I love snacking though). I usually just buy similar food from the same stall everyday because itís cheap, near to my place, and served fast, so I can just quickly finish eating and go back doing my business. Of course I get bored after a while, but my laziness usually wins over. I wonít just travel to a distance restaurant just to try new food. Too much effort. I donít understand foodieÖI eat to live not live to eat. So probably that..

    19) How do your friends perceive you? What is wrong about their perception? ? What would your friends never say about your personality?
Iím not sure. So far as I am aware I am often described as quiet, careless as in donít give a fuck, sharp-tongue, emotionlessÖ.

They are right about the quiet one. I actually do give a fuck on things. About being sharp-tongue, I never intentionally want to hurt other peopleís feeling. I like to be honest but if I think it would hurt then I will probably sugar coat it a bit. Although sometimes I am not aware that the things I want to say will hurt, so I say it, but not because I want to hurt them, I just thought it wonít hurt. With people close to me like family is different case though. No sugar coating needed. About being emotionless I do suppress my emotional expression, but Iím actually pretty emotional.I think I have more compassion than I display.

They would probably never say I am caring, bubbly, girly..

    20) You got a whole day to do whatever you like. What kind of activities do you feel like doing?
Definitely on my bed, laptop on my lap, earphone on my ears, snacks surrounding me, daydreaming and drawing while watching some movies or youtube videos, or listening to the radio or music. Probably try to read a book or learn a language as well.

There you go. Please help. Ask me any questions. Thank you for your time

Seems IxFP for me, but I might be wrong. Whats bugging me is why ISTJ was considered, I think you got stuck in cognitive functions, because even though they are an efficient way to type someone, sometimes stereotypes are easier to notice.

You seem to have that ''IxFP complication trait'' for me hahahah

Hahaha yeah I thought I was an ISTJ once because I thought I might be an Si dom, but too selfish and uncaring to be an ISFJ.

Can you explain what IxFP complication trait is?

The fact that you're seeing so many options is reflective of Ne.
I'm thinking INFP, especially given the Ne-Si that goes into making your universe. I'm a writer as well, and have a fictional universe--but it's channeled into writing. I think the things you would do on your day off are more reflective of Ne than Se...though I can see hints of Ni when you're talking about 'losing the race', or the superficiality of others.

I don't see much Ti-Fe ---but the rage that accompanies inferior Te is certainly present.

But yeah Ne-Si combinations tend to be responsible for the endless 'what if' questions.

That answer made me think IxFP even more!

The complication trait I said is a joke hahahah mostly because Fi dom is really hard for me to understand, I mean complication because I understand what you (IxFPs) are meaning but I can't understand why, I get the point but I think ''Ok man, whatever just get over it'' and the reply is always something like I'm shallow or dont understand... in my opinion these guys are always complicating things more than it should, this post is kind of this for me for instance.

ps: what you said about being selfish and uncaring, Fi can look like that for me, Fi dom care about others because they reason how they would like to be treated, but sometimes they can get blind for affecting others because their own reasons and interests are SO IMPORTANT to them, and often if you point this out they get offended!

Welcome to PerC, my fellow INFP!

I only need to take one glance at your questionnaire's answers and I immediately recognized you as one of my cohort.
Everything you wrote in your questionnaire answers, especially the part where you mentioned that you enjoy creating fictional characters and universe in your head is exactly what I always do when I was a child. I also have this tendency to play make-believe in front of the mirror as well as talk to my stuffed animals all the time. I think you will be able to relate to these tendencies of mine.

I am planning to channel my 'universe' to writing as well, but I'm still thinking about it. I always feel the urge to somehow bring my daydreaming products to the real world by drawing my characters or settings just so I can see them. But they are usually in a very rough sketches. I feel like I am satisfy enough to see the sketches only and then lost interest.

Why is losing the race is Ni by the way?

Hey thanks! YES I do relate totally hahaha!

However I kinda doubt my Ne-ness though, because I do imagine possibilities, but usually in a negative and pessimistic way. I read somewhere that indicates inferior Ne?

    Thoughts?

it's not always. just in that context, it seemed like a subtle metaphor standing for something much larger. Ne tends to be more inclined to elaborate; Ni lets it rest. The way you let it rest seemed Ni.

But I do think you're an INFP.

Best of luck with your writing :) it can be very frustrating sometimes. you'll get there.

hey, why you don't post it here What's my personality type?, I think you can have many respond there.
