After finding out more and more things about socionics I'm still confused as to what type I am exactly, and that's why I filled in the questionnaire XD. I hope you can offer me some suggestions, and if not that's cool. I already enjoyed the opportunity for introspection.
1. What is beauty? What is love?
Well, to be honest I don't exactly know what both are, it depends on your interpretation, but that is probably what is asked for in this questionnaire. My idea of beauty is not one fixed idea. I have to see something in a certain context and within that context in might be beautiful, though out of it's context it might not even be beautiful anymore. Beauty for me is a temporal experience of awe, and this experience can last for a long while, or just for a few minutes.
Love, for me is care for another person, but not unconditional care, because everyone has lines, crossing them might end this love. Love (both platonic and romantic) is an interdependent friendship, but this is what I would consider balanced love, any other form, for example: one-sided relationships, are not balanced love, the relationship isn't fair when unbalanced. Romantic love for me is a healthy balance between intimacy, independence and lust.
2. What are your most important values?
Well having respect for other people is incredibly important for me, I don't know where other people have been or what they have done, so I will treat them with respect, and that for me that means not assuming too many things about them, not bringing them down, being mean. Honestly, I would like to explain more about what my definition respect is, It would be nice to improve upon my knowledge of my own definition of something, but the funny thing is, I often draw a conclusion not knowing how to explain it's origin, then I end up trying to explain, and often feel I still haven't gotten down to the essence. Wow much Ni, yeah, though I could potentially see this treating people with respect as Fi, but then again, would I then imply that people lacking in Fi would not respect others? I don't believe that's entirely true, and therefore I'm not sure what my main function would/could be.
I find motivation to be something of big importance for myself, I don't like sitting on my ass, or moving into action all that much, but I still do my best to go for whatever I want, I can get incredibly pissed if I perceive myself being 'a lazy fuck', which pretty much contradicts the story I just told about respect, because I stop respecting myself, so that is food for thought, for myself XD. I think it important that people are motivated to do something or that they have a passion for something, but the fact that I find it important does not mean I dislike people who aren't very motivated, Like I said I don't know all their reasons, and unless they are responsible for something I'm connected to I'm not really bothered by their lack of motivation, I just really appreciate when people (including myself) are motivated.
Honestly, i'm really all about respect, I can see value in a lot of things, people have lot's of good qualities that are connected to negative qualities, what I appreciate depends on the context, it changes from time to time, like my perspective on things.
3. Do you have any sort of spiritual/religious beliefs, and why do you hold (or don't) those beliefs in the first place?
My religious belief is that I don't exactly know what's out there, it might be god-like, it might not, it's not that important for me. I just think it's important to make the best of the time you have. I'm however interested in any kind of spiritual belief, because interpretation of what we don't know are pretty cool.
4. Opinion on war and militaries? What is power to you?[/B]
Hmm... this subject interests me, though I don't believe I'm very knowledgeable, considering this subject. War strategy is something that I find fascinating, I have the same fascination for the military, I just don't appreciate the fact that as an army or as a regiment within an army you are forced to follow orders, and it seems that nationalism (a concept which I'm not such a fan of, well, I'm not a fan of how it plays out in reality) and things like pride, and black and white thinking are very common within wars. Then again these things are just assumptions, but regardless it's a subject of my interest.
Power to me is the perceived ability to get things done, or a feeling of perceived superiority over something else. If anything power is all in people's heads, anyone can be powerful if they truly believe themselves to be. keep in mind that with perceived, I mean that it might be truly reflective of reality, and it might not. Then again this is my definition of power.
5. What have you had long conversations about? What are your interests? Why?
Psychology, Movie-editing, Photography, 'Art', the way humans work (mentally and biologically), Political distribution of power, etc, etc, I have many interests, but I mostly talk about psychology. I don't know exactly why I'm interested in all these things, I just like being knowledgeable, and understanding more what is happening around me, maybe it's the human desire to keep control over things.
6. Interested in health/medicine as a conversation topic? Are you focused on your body?
Yes it interests me, though it's not my main topic of interests, facts can be interesting, but only if I see a way to apply them, with health/medicine that's the case. Yes, I'm slightly focused on my body and I notice when something is not right, but I'm not that aware. I just like to keep it healthy, and it seems it's going fine.
7. What do you think of daily chores?
They give me time to think, though I do tend to screw up when I think about a lot of things when I do these chores, and I always think about a lot of things when I do chores, so I'll end up going to the wrong place, or whatever, at least it'll give me a laugh.
8. Books or films you liked? Recently read/watched or otherwise. Examples welcome.
Pulp Fiction, Mallrats, Limitless, Safety not Guaranteed, Donnie Darko, The Road Within. I mostly read books in my language but if I have to name one I would 'The Dinner' by Herman Koch, since that is a book that's slightly popular around the world.
9. What has made you cry? What has made you smile? Why?
What makes me cry? Frustration, but it has to be a lot and a lot and a lot of frustration before that happens. I smile because I feel like it, it often happens around other people, and sometimes it doesn't. It's polite to smile, so I do, but not always, it depends on where I am and in what mood I am.
10. Where do you feel: at one with the environment/a sense of belonging?
If I engange with the environment and don't wait and observe for too long, it's not strange, if I stay stuck in ineratia the disconnection increases. Though I can feel like I don't belong, but it's probably because of insecurities I have about people maybe disliking me, while I do realize that these insecurities are often misplaced, I'm still very sensitive to this perceived hostility.
Evaluation & Behaviour
11. What have people seen as your weaknesses? What do you dislike about yourself?
I'm my own worst enemy <- I bring myself down, with self-hatred and frustration, though I'm improving in the sense that I'm not dong this as much as before. I am from time to time unaware what happens around me, because I'm thinking and I'm good at forgetting little details. I am not the most active person, though again I am far more active and engaging that I was before.
12. What have people seen as your strengths? What do you like about yourself?
some people see me as a knowledgeable person and some think I'm a wise person, and some teachers say that I can grasp the essence of something very quickly. What I like about myself? I like that I'm creative, and that I am able to grasp the essence of things quickly, that I have already improved a lot about myself, and that I try to always give some for of respect to people.
13. In what areas of your life would you like help?
I'm not so big on help, I want to be able to figure things out myself, I mean help in the form of advice is very welcome, but if I'm supposed to do or achieve something I often want to do it myself, and not have someone help. I'd like support, people that give me a push in the back when I'm having a hard time, those that can motivate me. Though I do understand that group projects and things you do together require help, but I'm not talking about teamwork here.
14. Ever feel stuck in a rut? If yes, describe the causes and your reaction to it.
Yes, when i do nothing I feel like I'm wasting my life, and the longer I do nothing the stronger that feeling gets. The solution is to stop caring about it so much in the sense that worrying yourself to death is not going to help, and then when I have chilled out a bit, move into action.
People & Interactions
15. What qualities do you most like and dislike in other people? What types do you get along with?
I dislike hate and the inability to forgive and/or accept, like I said I'm big on respect, but I'm also big on giving people a chance to make up for what they have done, and letting all of that frustration go which is of no use to you anyways.
16. How do you feel about romance/sex? What qualities do you want in a partner?
I like what I called balanced love earlier in this OP, I'm not sure, I'm not experience enough I.M.O to know what qualities I desire exactly.
17. If you were to raise a child, what would be your main concerns, what measures would you take, and why?
I would raise the child to become a independent & interdependent person. My main concerns would be that the child gets enough freedom but also that the child knows where the lines are, and when they are crossed they need to know that consequences will follow. Why? I want the child to know it's loved, but that if you do some things in this world, like only considering yourself, or hurting people, that that will have negative consequences for them later down the road. Though I'm still incredibly young, and still pretty much growing up myself, but for now this is would be my approach.
18. A friend makes a claim that clashes with your current beliefs. What is your inward and outward reaction?
It depends on my mood, the more relaxed I am the more outwardly and inwardly relaxed I am when he claims something that clashes with my beliefs. Usually we'll argue, I mean I want to figure out why he has claims clashing with mine, but I do my best to be open to new perspectives.
19. Describe your relationship to society. How do you see people as a whole? What do you consider a prevalent social problem? Name one.
Society, well as a whole I see people as, well a whole bunch of individual people with individual problems. One of the most prevalent problems? Miscommunication.
20. How do you choose your friends and how do you behave around them?
I'm am very adaptive to the environment in the sense that I often adapt my way of saying things to the context or the people in a situation. Around my friends I adapt to them, and their way of saying things, but I also feel more free to share more about myself, and with friends I'm more sarcastic and joking.
21. How do you behave around strangers?
I adapt, and I scope out what I can and can't do around these people, however I will still do my best to be authentic, since I want to give the right impression, the right impression of who I am and what I mostly act like.
