I'm a really big fan, and I'm one who believes she's an ENFP. I think she's bizarre and loves to meet people, which are two things I really like about her. I have a friend who got to talk to her on Myspace way back when about some scary movie from the '70s, and she told me Courtney types the same way she speaks in interviews aka by jumping from topic to topic with no transition inbetween. I'm in love with her music and the way she dresses. I just find her fascinating.

I know that a lot of people dislike her, be it because she SUPPOSEDLY killed Kurt, SUPPOSEDLY was responsible for the death of a pet, SUPPOSEDLY is making it her mission to exploit Kurt, etc. I won't agree or disagree with any of it because I haven't seen any physical evidence and I don't know her well enough to say she didn't do any of that. I do see the way she ACTS with other people including my friend, and whether she did or didn't do it, her personality type (whatever it may be) was not the result. How do I know? Because she has to be one of the 16, and not everyone else with the same personality type is a bad person. That being said, my question for you is, what do you think of the Courtney you SEE? Do you love her or hate her or somewhere inbetween? I want to see how other INFPs percieve her.
Please share your thoughts here.

She is very obviously Te dominant -- probably ESTJ but LIE in socionics.

I personally don't think she had anything to do with cobain's death. I think that hipster fans gave her a bad rep like a yoko-ono figure. She was a hustler, and belligerent person, sure, but she is also interesting and talented in a very raw yet charismatic way.

That rawness and natural charisma are why I think people who really like her, like her.

But no shes in no way an Ne dominant, or Fi aux.

I really like her... She is a pretty genuine musician, plus she is pretty smokin' hot, when she's not totally strung out...
To be fair and unbiased though, I happen to have the same birthday as Kurt Cobain, so you may have to disregard my opinion.

I agree with the OP; the media definitely has a way of sensationalizing things that aren't clear-cut, which results in some celebrities such as Courtney Love being unfairly judged. To me, she seems to be fun-loving and "bad-but-not-evil." She seems like she can and does get reckless at times, but I don't think that she's a total bitch about it. In fact, she seems like the kind of person I can have fun partying with occasionally lol.

I think she's a drugged up trainwreck, but I can't really judge her for that because I've had my own moments as a drugged up trainwreck. Her daughter did accuse her of abuse though and she's notorious for tantrums so I don't think she'd ever win the parent of the year award and is probably not a particularly nice person. Personality type conjecture; ESTP. The classic Bad Girl.

I used to like her when I was a teen. But these days I don't care for her. Every time I see her speak in an interview or when she's caught on footage just doing whatever, she seems like a very hard person to deal with. She seems like an egomaniac, totally self-absorbed.

well, her music is nice.

But I don't like the fact that she read Kurt Cobain's suicide letter to the public, sold all his personal journals to the public and spent practically all of his money, leaving very little to the daughter. Not saying she was the cause of his death (that was a combination of things.) I appreciate her strong personality, but I could never see myself being friends with her and getting sick of her very quickly

Because she is totally self-absorbed and also very intelligent and probably she is the one of few celebrites who manipulates own image so so so effectively. I don't judge if this is good or not. Of course I really love her and appriciate her and her music. I don't agree with everything she does but I'm amazed how strong and sensitive woman can be in the face of own weakness and weakness of the world. I'm happy that I discovered Hole, I wouldn't be the person I am now without it.

I don't know much about her... But is your avatar a picture of her or do you two just look very alike? ;)

Courtney's taller than Kurt?!!

I really like Courtney. I think her music and especially her lyrics (even though I know she collaborated with both Kurt Cobain and Billy Corgan) are WAY underrated. I think its weird how it seems like her music gets passed over and unrecognized and all people ever see when they see her is this big personality mess of a person...how she dated Cobain...did drugs..and is bizzare at times, but they never acknowledge the great art that she's done.

Somewhere in between for me.
I'm a fan of Kurt, and obviously he loved her for a reason, so I am not totally going to bash on her.
I don't really agree wiith the fact that she sold almost all of his posessions and only left a few things, such as a sweater and song lyrics, for her daughter. Frances never got to grew up with him and I think that she should has more of a right to his things than crazed fans.
And there's the fact that she published all his Journals. (Though I am guilty of reading them.) Inside them he wrote about someone stealing his journals from backstage and how upset he was about it. So I don't think he'd like this either.
There's also the fact that the other band members of Nirvana and her are always fighting about money. She isn't entitled to everything just because she was married to him.

But as a person I don't really have much to say about her. *shrug*
Kurt was an obvious INFP, but Courtney seems more ST to me. Her tweets talk about fashion/design/art a lot. And I've never really heard her express much of her feelings.

You are kinda right, she sounds like a sensor to me since she loves fashion too much. She loves to collect Victorian fabrics. Us INFPs can love fashion as well but she doesn't seem to talk about her feelings that much. She is always acting tough and loud.

Somewhere in between for me.

Meh. I don't know much/care about Courtney, but I greatly prefer Shirley Manson of Garbage as my 1990s alt. rock icon of female badassery!

Beautiful, strong, has moral integrity AND speaks in a Scottish accent with an American singing voice; what more can I ask for in a woman?!
Except for her to sodomize me, that is. ;)

My personal feelings which mean nothing are: I like what I know of her. I loved her in Beat and the Larry Flynt movie. I think she's got soul and heart. I don't have a problem with the publishing of Cobain's journals, which I enjoyed ..reading... couldn't entertain the idea of buying. I Identified with Kurt Cobain, I'm Attracted to Courtney Love. I've seen the conspiracy stuff, and I just don't go there naturally. ...I saw this pic of a grown up Frances Bean going to a photo shoot in Kurt's wedding outfit - pyjamas basically - and it makes me wonder about her life and her personality a lot. It's all very sentimental.
