Describe your relationship to society. What are the elements of it you hold important or unimportant (e.g. social norms, values, customs, traditions)? How do you see people as a whole?

My answer

-This is my favourite question. i Have a very candid, straight forward, no filter relationship to society and the people in it. My sister calls me pessimistically optimistic, I have a very pessimistic view to society, I don’t see the point in everyone fighting for equality when it will never happen, this society thrives on inequality, not everyone can be a doctor, not everyone is going to work in McDonalds. The sheer fact we have inequality in society is why it’s so effective, some people fall to the bottom and do the lower end job, whereas some are ambitious and work hard to be doctors, lawyers so on and so forth. Also, people need to face the fact some are just not born for success and unfortunate for them, some people are more important than others, that’s just life. Freedom of speech is another one I hate people fighting for, people really wouldn’t be able to handle freedom of speech, because everyone in this world doesn’t have thick enough skin to handle the things free speech cultivates, for example I see a fat person, free speech would allow me to make fun of that fat person, but it’s also a hate crime… If free speech was really a thing, the things coming out of people’s mouth wouldn’t cultivate a pleasant place for sensitive people to live.

I ask this because I wanted to know if my outlook is common to other Ti types, all other types join in too.

I support fighting for equal opportunity but not full-blown equality. I think we should channel money into making college more affordable here in the US and in opening up trade schools. This way, regardless of whether you're born into a poor family or not, you have the same opportunities to advance yourself as those born in wealth. You don't have to go to college, but you have the option. Back in the 70s you didn't necessarily need a degree to get a good job and even if you did, college was a lot cheaper. I guess you could say I support restoring economic mobility but not all these socialist programs.

As for freedom of speech, I agree that total freedom of speech will never happen. But I'm a bit weary about deciding to never fight for it because that's a stepping stone into tyranny. It's very, very rare that words can get you arrested (ex: saying "Fire!" in a movie theater) and I like it that way.

But as far as customs and traditions are concerned, I literally don't care about them at all and will dismiss any argument based on them alone like "this is how it's always been."

INTP, I don't agree with social norms for the most part. I am pretty straightforward with people. For the most part of my life I have been extremely judgmental and harsh when it comes to stupidity. Now I am more positive although I still do believe that the majority of people are stupid. I just learned how to appreciate them anyways. Am extremely benevolent and peaceful. I really do appreciate harmonious social environment. Otherwise I get really stressed.

I have a hard time sometimes understanding social norms and I know I don't follow some others, but I have no ill will towards society, and I don't feel uncomfortable about "fitting in". I don't think everything it has to offer is bad and should be thrown away, it's not completely wrong, I am more for changing what has to be changed and maintaining the good things.
As someone said before, I believe in equal opportunities, but of course not everyone is gonna be very rich and successful, and I see nothing wrong with that TBH, as long as the successful person has gained their position with their own effort. But the poorer people should still be able to live an at least decent life (but I guess what a single individual considers "decent" is up to their own interpretation, I myself don't need much to be content but I don't know what are other people's standards).
As for freedom of speech, I agree with the OP, we're never gonna get there, a lot of people are too sensitive or just can't deal with the truth. I am generally honest and straightforward, and I know that for some people it's hard to deal with me.

Perhaps I am just an unusual case but I am a communist INTP. While I do not believe that everyone should be performing the same job, and I do not believe that a cashier who works three days a week should be making as much as someone working 24/7 in the lab I strongly disagree with competition and I believe cooperation whenever possible is superior and far more productive. The whole is almost always greater than the sum of its parts, and as such if we all work together towards a common goal than we can achieve progress like never before seen. Everyone is as important as everyone else, though everyone does have different positions and a science oriented person should be forced to be a construction worker just as a football player should not be forced to be an accountant.

In my opinion freedom of speech should be unlimited as anyone should be free to speak their own mind. At the same time freedom of action should be highly limited and anyone who threatens an innocent civilian must be punished to the fullest extent of the law. Also I personally would not be rude for no reason, as IMHO when someone annoys me for no good reason they should not expect me to take them seriously. Manners exist for a reason, and while communicating important ideas is very important so is maintaining the common order and major disruptions without cause hurt everyone.
