According to a study INxx types are the most "gifted" with INTPs scoring the highest with quite a margin between it and the type behind it; the rest of the INxx types then come behind, just google MBTI giftedness and you will see the chart which you are probably already familiar with. That being said, the study said that giftedness was not necessarily correlated with intelligence but rather that these types were the most academic of all.

To my knowledge very little research has been done on the link between MBTI and IQ.

Statistically ,on average - YES.

But you are free to put your own definition of intelligence and your own methodology of measurement , like "by judging from his/her glance" or "successfulness of characters in popular movies" or by auguring from pictures of cute kitties.

IQ tests only cover a limited scope of things, even on the "thinking" side, let alone the feeling side.

INTPs are the most intelligent as demonstrated by IQ tests. Then I would put the INFP a close second since they may be the most environmentally conscious.

In fact the entire future on this planet of all men, women, children and beasts rest on the shoulders of these two types.

Edit: Actually, just realised the EQ is also as necessary ie. for security reasons etc..

For the last fuckin' time, MBTI doesn't equal intelligence.

It's a system with multiple flaws. Hypothetically, yes. Ti and Ne are perfectly balanced functions for IQ, as well as the auxiliary functions Si for memory. Ti for finding the logic behind something and and Ne for finding the multiple different possibilities using the knowledge.

These are preferences. This doesn't mean another type can't use them for tests and exams. I'm not incapable of using other functions. It's just not my preference or how I am naturally. The most intelligent person I know is an ESFJ. That doesn't make any sense according to the MBTI. The lower stack is Ti and Ne. I'm not joking about this person being incredibly intelligent. She's 3rd in her state and I'm sure about her MBTI. She also effortlessly picks up on things, which doesn't make sense.
