1. Do you usually dream in first person (interacting within your dream scenes) or are you generally an observer in your dreams? Do you only have one or the other?
POV shifts from dream to dream or even within the dream itself, but more often than not I dream in first person.

2. My other question is - do you typically dream of people you know and are familiar with or do you ever have dreams with people who are completely fictional or you've never met before? Have you ever dreamed of meeting someone before hand and then you meet them in real life?
I dream about people I know, people I don't know, fictional people; so all sorts, really! I had a lot of dreams about nursing school in the few months before I actually went to classes...and it turned out to be surprisingly accurate? I dreamed about some of the class settings and the people before actually knowing about the setting or meeting them (kind of weird!).
Lately I've been having a lot of dreams about angels and wings...?

This is an old post so I don’t even know if anyone will respond. But I have really vivid lucid dreams, and have had them since I was a kid (im 19 now). This dream I just woke up from was insane. I feel like I’ve dreamt it or seen it in a movie before, but parts of it felt like I was watching it from a random persons perspective. I wasn’t familiar with location or most people. At the end of this dream is what scared me. I was at this huge school, college most likely. It was at this lights off formal, and part of the dream I felt like I have dreamed before or watched in a movie, it was familiarly unfamiliar. I went to use the restroom in the dream, where you had to walk up this creepy staircase. A few girls were already in the bathroom, but they were whispering when I got up there, “be quiet she is over there to the right with blood” talking about some paranormal entity. We try to go back the way I had just come in to escape in a way, and the door slams by itself and locks. We keep running back and forth from both exits to try and outsmart this entity, but I split up from the other girls while doing so making them get out before me. At this point the entity stopped locking doors and I just have to escape. This part is super weird because I go into the third person and i realize it’s not me, I was dreaming from someone else’s perspective. I or should I say we, find a way to go down the stairs, by tearing cloths apart and tying them together to avoid this entity. We get out of the building and we look to the right to see this 2D figure with blood all over (what I sssume to be what the girls in the bathroom were describing) we look to the left and this pentagon lights up in flames in the air, and I wake up in my own body in the dream to a call from my IRL boyfriend FaceTiming me, I tell him how I’ve had the weirdest night, and he justs repeats “where are you” and will not respond to what I’m asking like he’s upset or has just been worried. I am so caught off guard, I have nightmares but the fact that I never dream of what people would say “demonic” dreams, and it feels like I have dreamt that bathroom scene before. It was from someone else’s perspective, and in a location I’ve never been in before. If anyone has any idea, uninformed or not, please let me know.

It goes both ways, but I'd say the majority lean towards first-person.

Occasionally it's a mix where I'm with both people I know and with dream people. Sometimes the fictional people are presented as part of my family that I just never knew existed.
I tend to remember dream characters in an archetypal way like what their role was in the story and what they were saying or doing but information like their appearance gets forgotten about quickly. I might feel like people I meet in real life have a similar "vibe" to them, and they share in the same archetype, but I don't think they're the exact same individuals.

I don't want this to sound crude at all but the impression I get from the details of this dream sound related to menstruation and fears which may stem from it (personally/bodily and socially).
I can elaborate further if you wanted but maybe you can tell where I'm coming from.
Are you a female? (I'd assume so if you went into the girl's bathroom but I guess there's no rules to follow in dreams).

I'm not trying to say you're on your period, though. (although I hear it's perfectly normal to have nightmares induced by that and that they can be quite vivid and intense). I have dreams which don't always seem related to my present waking situation but perhaps the feelings or thoughts are still swimming around and resurfacing from my subconscious anyway.
