I was ALWAYS late for school. I struggled to get up early. Part of it, I think, was me waiting on my mum. I couldn't go unless she got everything ready. I got into trouble because of being late. Not that I wanted to! I've always had trouble waking up early. Anyone else?

I've never really had a problem with oversleeping/tardiness.

For one, I keep my alarm clock on the opposite side of the room so that when it goes off I have to get up out of bed to walk over to it and shut off the alarm. I'm pretty much awake after that.

As far as being late goes, I don't think I was tardy a single time throughout high school, and I'm not really the kind of person to show up late anywhere else, either. The thing is, I don't like being late, and I don't like feeling rushed, either, so I put a lot of effort into preparedness and promptness. I don't know.

I don't do mornings. I am /not/ a morning person what-so-ever (so why I work a mon-fri 8-5 job, I don't know) but I will eventually get out of bed and then rushrushrushrush to get to wherever I need to be in something resembling on time. I've never understood how people can get up early and then stroll through the getting up and ready process and do things like go to the gym or eat breakfast and all that. It confuses me.

I have discovered that if I work a swing or over night shift, I'm fine and have many fewer problems waking up on time and getting to where I need to be when I need to be there...

I was late for classes in high school a lot (it was always the morning classes because I would never give myself enough time to get ready in the morning because I'd want to sleep in), but once I got to college, I was pretty good at making it on time. I think it's easier in college because you can be more flexible with classes (e.g. choosing late classes instead of early ones).

I just ignore my alarm clock 'til I fall asleep again. Or I turn it off and fall asleep. Or put it on snooze, fall asleep and get late anyway. Someone has that problem? The problem is probably that I don't have a rhytm that I follow daily, like would be required if I had a job or smth. I never had a problem coming up in time when going to a job that started in the morning, but now when I don't have a job and I have to go up on a certain time to eg. go to the dentist or smth, I just can't wake up easily.....

Really considering connecting my alarm clock to my stereo or smth and a siren and some disco flashes or something.
Any suggestions?

Since being effectively snowed in my body clock has returned to the preferred pattern.
I get up at 5pm and then stay up until around 8/9 then fall asleep again. I like it, I work better and enjoy doing things a whole lot more than having to go to bed at 10 in order to wake up for 7 and fit my life around an awfully inflexible working pattern/university life/friends. I'm not good at being artificially woken up, it has to be of my own accord when the body finally goes "get up, get up, time to run around and shower and things".

The thing is depending on how long you sleep/how long you're awake it's only really early/late in comparison to times set by those who dance to a different beat. Really should try to work during the night, it would be easier than struggling with a day job.

So yeah ... waking up at a time not natural to me is bothersome.

Heh. Me, too!! I'm always, at least, 20 minutes late for school....

I'm very slow when it comes to early mornings... Plus, I'm always dazing off when getting ready. Another thing is the bus is always late...

So, tardiness is another one of those bad habits of mine...

I hate waking up, I stared at my ceiling for a good ten minutes before I rallied and decided it was for the best to just get off my ass. It's finals, and term paper time because the semester is coming to an end and I frankly dread every class I need to attend and every project I need to do. On the upside I only have another 2 weeks of classes

I seem to constantly be late for things. The really frustrating thing is that I am aware of it and most of the time it is by a matter of five minutes or less, but late is late and eventually people notice and chastise you for it. I'm not saying they shouldn't because being late is a nasty habit. i think I just have a distorted perception of time. A lot of times I will think I have plenty of time when in reality I should have left 5 minutes ago...

Well, I absolutely hate waking up early, but I've always been really good about being punctual. Too punctual, actually lol .. My boyfriend, on the other hand, is also an INFP and he has always been late to everything, for as long as I've known him. .. I first met him years ago, when we both worked at the same place. & I remember being at work, looking at the schedule, and saying to myself, "Oh. Chad is supposed to come in after me. That means I'll be waiting here an hour longer than I'm supposed to." haha ..

Strangely! Since we've started dating and moved in together, I've found that I'm much worse at waking up early enough and getting to places on time. & He appears to be getting -better- at showing up to places on time. !

I overcompensated for my tendency to procrastinate by waking up at three in the morning to make sure I had time to finish my homework. I was on an earlier schedule than most, because I was in an elite choir group and had to make it to practice every morning before school started.

I tend to arrive at least half an hour early to everything, then if it's not appropriate to be that early, I wait somewhere nearby until my timing is just right. If I didn't do this, I'd probably have trouble being on time, or I'd be worrying and rushing. I like to give myself plenty of extra time just in case things don't go according to plan.

I'm not a morning person at all, but if I know I have to be up early, now that I'm an adult with more control over my schedule, I will sometimes stay up all night to make sure I am still awake by the planned hour.

I'm usually the same exact way. In my post above, I said that I'm usually "too punctual" and that's exactly why I wrote that. For the same reasons you say :)

I am the one who has to get my girls ready for school in the morning. It drives me crazy because my younger one, who is either INTP or INFP, won't get ready in time unless I dress her and get her bag packed. Somehow I manage to make it to work early. If I'm late it ruins my whole morning.

No, I'm not a morning person. But I have had to learn to function that way, whether I like it or not.

I hate waking up early as well, and im also late alot. In fact, i woke up an hour a half late today, so i didnt go to school :p
