IMO, He is ENFP more than ENTP. I have heard he can't have one-on-one conversations very well but once there was more than one person around he would start "entertaining", having an "audience". ENTPs can actually be pretty good at one-on-one but most ENFPs I know IRL actually fail pretty bad one on one but excel once there is more than one in the group.

ENFP, 7w6, So/Sx. I am willing to bet his tritype was 7-4-8

784: Direct and intuitive 7. Most independent, original and creative 7. Can be moody. Most non-conforming, and intense 7.
Visionary, powerful and aesthetically brilliant, always ahead of the curve. Somewhat manic. Dramatic and somewhat confrontational. Uncontrolled emotions. Direct and intuitive 7.

I do actually think he is Esfj, inspired from MightyLizardKing's post on page 2. He does seem to fit the "6th grade teacher" stereotype. He was a nice guy (with cocaine problems lol) who said loads of stuff to make everyone at ease? What he said wasn't all really clever, in the sense entp and enfp say is clever and precise. He does use Ne, but as his 3th function, just supporting his other 2 functions. What he say isn't really logical but make one laugh. I first thought him as too "stiff" for Fe, but Fe followed with Si may be a good fit for his style of communicating. He isn't stiff really, he make rooms full of people laugh their ass off. ;p

Entp and Esfj does have and use the same functions, but in a different order and priority. He doesnt seems entp to me... entp being more introverted thinker then robin. He's jokes are good timing and momentum in first hand.

Watch any of his stand up comic acts. The man had Ne pouring out his ears. He could take a scarf at random from the audience and build an entire skit around it, using it in sixteen different ways. Yet, he became very quiet, very serious, and almost reluctant when asked personal questions. Opinions, he was happy to share, but his silent suffering and inner intensity hint strongly at Fi. ENFP, both at this best (hilarious) and his worst (melancholy).

(I had to replace all the "can" to "could" and "becomes" to "became," which is sad.)

To me he's one of the most obvious ENFP's there is.

An ENFP, 7w8 and Bi-polar. He's been open about the Bi-polar, 7s are extremely hyperactive and spontaneous. Robin's lucky, because, he pursued Stand-up. Stand-Up is all about improv. Normally, being a 7 with all this hyperactivity going on inside the brain, we just respond to our impulses a lot, and if you're with people, they might be open to viewing you as too impulsive, and not thinking before we act, and that gets us in sooooooo much trouble. I've been with trouble many times, we're like friends.

I'm an ESTP 7w8,

You're certainly free to think that. but I'm inspired by Jung.

He's a Ne-dom. He reminds me of ENTPs who say whatever ideas come into their heads, which is why I never thought he was that funny. He was good sometimes, but a lot of times he was just silly, over-the-top, and dumb, imo. He kind of exemplified everything about extroverts I'm not crazy about. I prefer Woody Allen who is an Ne-aux (INFP). Same Ne humor but filtered so you only get the funny stuff. And his delivery is more reserved, warm, human, not manic like Williams'. It's interesting that Williams' first breakout role was Mork, an alien. When possessed by Ne he really was a very strange man.

Rarely, if ever, do his jokes actually point to anything - they're just pure randomness (immature Ne). It's pretty clear to me that he has strong Ne, but isn't using it as his base perceiving function. He doesn't take the information coming in through that route seriously enough for it to be his first function. He uses Ne like an ENTP would use Fe, or an ENFP would use Te. It's there, and it can be strong, but it's not something either takes overly seriously. Plus, he is quite clearly an Alpha quadra is socionics, and pretty clearly an extrovert, and he's not ENTP - his jokes contain no Ti whatsoever.

Anecdotally, I know quite a few ESFJs (including my mother) who use his exact same type of humor (though not as well). They can get incredibly hyperactive and Ne-bouncy, but it's all an act. They don't take the Ne process or ideas that stem from it that seriously and it is only a way to let loose to have some fun. Obviously this doesn't really count for anything, but it's enough for me to be convinced he's ESFJ.
