What are some examples of ENTP-INFJ's relationship in movies or tv shows? Need not be a romantic relationship but okay if it is. Just trying to understand the dynamic between the two types cause its so quirky and unique.

The only possible ones I can speculate about (correct me if I'm wrong) are:
  • Violet (ENTP) and Tate (INFJ) from AHS
  • The Joker (sometimes ENTP) and Harley Quinn (sometimes INFJ)... at least some older scenes in the comics or maybe the cartoons. The different writers tend to make their Myers Briggs fluctuate a little but I've always liked the idea of Harley as more of an introvert
  • Tony Stark (ENTP) and Pepper (was at least written as an INFJ originally, the actress who played Pepper seemed more an S type)
  • Morticia (INFJ) and Gomez (ENTP) from the Addams Family
  • John (INFJ) and Anna (ENTP) from Mindscape/Anna 2013
  • I've heard Joel and Clementine (ENTP) from Eternal Sunshine but never been able to type Joel as anything other than depressed....
  • Watson (INFJ) and Sherlock (overall INTP vibes sometimes written with an ENTP flair so hard to type)
Update (5/22) - So I've been totally absent from the forum due to finals and as expected mayhem ensued lol. Let me just say a few things: no more Sherlock... I think he's honestly written as a bunch of different types in different scenes so it's useless to try to type him. Start another discussion for this! In addition here is a running list of the suggested ENTP-INFJ pairings which I will attempt to continuously update:
  • Newton Crosby and Stephanie from Short Circuit
  • Anne of Green Gables 1980's
  • Jake Glycenhaal and Anne Hathaway from Love and Other Drugs
  • Sally (INFJ) and Jack (ENTP) from the Nightmare before Christmas
  • Floki (ENTP) and Helva (INFJ) from Vikings
  • Gregory House (never saw him as an ENTP but maybe one letter off?) and James Wilson (INFJ) from House
  • Azuma and James from Maniac
  • Bojack (he's a badly functioning ENTJ straight up guys) and Diane (INFJ)
  • Loki (INFJ) and Iron Man (ENTP) from the Avengers
  • Spike (ENTP) and Buffy (INFJ) from Buffy the Vampire Slayers

anne of green gables is the best example i have ever seen in movies (1980s)

the whole Love you/Hate you thing is perfect. the movies they go from childhood, young adulthood and then marriage....if you watch all of them. i like the middle one best.

i recommend for all infj and entp that have connections or are interested in knowing each other

I haven’t watched Anne of Green Gables. But reading about the plot it sounds right haha He holds a strand of her red hair and calls her carrots.. and she stops talking to him for years.. yup. That’s definitely INFJ/ENTP

One I thought of is the movie “Love and other drugs” with Jake Glycenhaal and Anne Hathaway. It gets pretty sad at times, but I think the characters suit these types, and they are both positive despite the difficult situation.

Se does notice absolutely everything but they are focused on the present.. They are noticing everything because they are a survivalist.
They’re not noticing things to play guessing games about what may happen in the future, or people’s lives in general, or who may or may not have murdered someone lol
I’m going with ENTJ for Sherlock because (at least sometimes) they have a very good balance of Ni/Se and they can also be very rational in their interpretation of their intuitions.

INTP is very intelligent but I see them more as inventive original thinkers, rather than detective-style thinkers. Ni coupled with Se is more “detective-style”.

Oh Boy.. I feel like I have to do that INFJ thing where they threaten to spank ENTPs who can’t avoid offending ppl.. or each other lol.. for 2 minutes straight 😛

Intuitives and Sensors are intelligent in different ways. Intuitives are abstract thinkers who selectively use Sensing only when they need it. Sensors are practical thinkers who selectively only use Intuition when they need it.

Also, we are all human and actually these differences are not major or insurmountable. For instance it would be impossible for your pet dog or cat to ever process information the same way you do. But it is not impossible for another human to do so. It might be very difficult to force yourself to use your brain in ways that you don’t normally do, but you are actually able to. Your MBTI type is not set in stone.

My aunt is ISFP so she has Ni as her child function but sometimes she has had amazing intuitions that even top mine as Ni dom. Your MBTI type is a matter of what you use most often (what you are conscious of using I should say).... and based on that, where your comfort zone is. You -can- step outside this though, and I’m even inclined to say that we often do.

Idk 16 personalities has kind of promoted the idea that sensors just don’t think about things which is so far from the truth. My istp dad is so so smart, he’s taught me so much. Mbti describes way of processing, but that’s it. Who you are, your character, how smart you are, etc has nothing to do with mbti. mbti doesn’t even dictate how much you think, just the way that your mind funnels your thoughts

With our NERIS® model, we’ve combined the best of both worlds. We use the acronym format introduced by Myers-Briggs for its simplicity and convenience, with an extra letter to accommodate five rather than four scales. However, unlike Myers-Briggs or other theories based on the Jungian model, we have not incorporated Jungian concepts such as cognitive functions, or their prioritization. Jungian concepts are very difficult to measure and validate scientifically, so we’ve instead chosen to rework and rebalance the dimensions of personality called the Big Five personality traits, a model that dominates modern psychological and social research.

just fyi

OP where are you? Here are couples I would deem ENTP and INFJ.

Please note that intuition carries with itself some kind of weirdness.

Dominant intuitives would not look "normal" but would come across as weird.

(Remember "Doc" from Back to the Future for instance).

Actually Lol!!! My ex who is INTP always reminded me of Doc’s character personality wise. But now that I’m thinking about it I do see the ENTP side to him because he’s more adventurous than the average INTP.

funny, tom cruise is prob an entp
there is a strong correlation between STPs and NTPs....entps are not always very extroverted. Tom Cruise doesnt come across to me as someone who is stereotypically extroverted. he seems quiet and well thought out in his interviews. neither is he very varied in the type of roles he has, MOST (not all) of his movies he is playing the bad ass, gun having, sex symbol. so he doesnt strike me as entp in the way he likes to do different things. the way he specializes, and not only that, he goes all out to do his own stunts to make sure to capture the best action and wants to really feel the part with his senses. for him it is not concept, it is really him in that situation on the side of a plane or building....

istps tend to go to extremes to be the best more than entps. like the way Bale often will change extreme body types to play the role. but it is usually an intense, brooding character in what i have seen

I am getting confused about this though, is she (Azumi) an INTJ or ENTP. She looks too contained to be an ENTP, what do you think? James must be an INFJ cause he is weird, caring and a bit feely and an introvert.

She is quite formal when she is talking to the boss on the TV screen though she does not dress business-like. I would expect INTJs to dress a bit like ISTJs, formal and plain. I think Azumi is an INTJ cause I would expect ENTP demeanor to be more extraverted and mischiveous like this:

878318
878319

878320
878321

What do you think Azumi's enneagram type may be?
