INFJ's and forgetfulness? Is is just me?

The information that I see as valuable is often seen as not so valuable to others. I'm more about the approach and intentions behind actions and ideas. I don't care as much about the details of a concept/idea/etc. because I want to know why and the big picture. In this way, I'm very forgetful when it comes to day-to-day crap, like where I put keys yesterday and whatnot. But I'm good at remember more peculiar things, and can put it together in a very unique way. They say INFJs are good at thinking in metaphors and symbols, and I can attest to this. I view myself as creative because I can bind together strange knowledge that I normally couldn't articulate, but can put this together and make it understandable. For instance, I love writing short stories, I'm a good show-er (not shower) not a teller. I get side-tracked by trivial details, and don't like them, they're often a hindrance. (though I have to watch that I don't overlook major details -> can be a big problem for me)

tl;dr I'm viewed as forgetful because I don't focus on things that most people focus on... if that makes sense.

PS: I don't like the terms absent minded, head in clouds, etc. because they often fail to recognize our strengths in this..
