I still say that the INTP villain has the potential to be the best. The fact that they don't care actually helps them. You guys need to think outside the box. First of all, if an ENTP could be a villain, then an INTP villain can. They can just manage it in a sneakier way. Imagine someone like the Joker, but an introvert. Think about someone who doesn't care, or doesn't feel like it, but has the mindset of a psychopath. They won't necessarily go out of their way, but if the situation presents itself, why not? The funny thing is, nobody would suspect the INTP villain, because they know how to play the good guy game. They work in the shadows, not really following a plan, but doing bad things whenever they feel like it. The INTP villain is the ultimate con artist, just with murder. Sure, an INTP villain will never take over the world, but I believe that the most dangerous villains are the ones that don't have a set goal, the ones that just do things in a random manner, without sticking their neck out too far. The irony is you would never have a story because the INTP villain would win by default...the hero never knows he exists. So from a narrative perspective, yes you're right, but in theory, they really are the best villains...you can't even make a story out of them.

 

That's pretty much how I see it. The real reason there aren't many of them is because it's hard to make a believable and satisfying story from one. How do you write the climax where the heroes uncover the villain and take him down? He'd have to either win, or just accept that his evil scheme isn't working and move onto designing boats or something.

 

If I'm the last person on Earth, I would have a hay day as the world is my playground. I'd go into different buildings that runs the backbone of society; i,.e. power plants, hydro plants, sewage filtration, etc. Read up on the manuals to understand the engineering behind it and marvel at man's brilliant designs.

Especially Food manufacturing plants, because to continue to survive, need canned foods, just in case livestock no longer exist for some reason.

What would I want with ruling the world? I don't even want to be in management or retail because I'd have to deal with people. Ugh.

 

I would like to be some supreme ruler of the world. Then I could just get all my workers to carry out all my plans and ideas whilst I just get to do what I want and live in a palace. I can just work on the ideas but get someone else actually do it. The problem would be getting to that position in the first place.

 

Here's a good real-life basis for a successful INTP Villain:

Richard Ramirez, "The Night Stalker," a life-long loner who loved the idea of creating a legendary serial killer persona as much as he loved the physical violence.

I've read a lot about how evil INTJs, ENTJs, and ENTPs can be great villains, but that evil INTPs can only be minions. As an aspiring author, I now want to write about an INTP leading villain based on Richard Ramirez.

Random Person: "Hey ethylene, you're World Leader now! There are a billion people waiting in line so you can sort out their disputes."
Me: "I don't wannaaaa..." *runs and hides*

Nobody would see it coming as the INTP easily be so very innocuous.

Hmm, if I were a villain, I wouldn't take over the world, I would be something more along the lines of:

"You're all pathetic. Every one of you. It's hilarious honestly, you're all so mind-numbingly stupid and naive that I can murder you all now and no one would stop me! Ha, I'd even leave some evidence for the police so they'd come after me! It'd be more fun that way, then you get the thrill! The police would never be able to find me, obviously, which would also just be hilarious.... hold on I was supposed to be murdering you guys. Right, I'll get to that just let me finish my plan about the most entertaining ways to evade the police force..."

It's also difficult to even wrap my head around the idea of "Villiany".

When I think of villians, I think of grown men wearing Joker outfits or Larping (Live action Role Playing) in a large open field and playing Batman's Joker to the tune of a theatric display.

What's a villian? Does my mustache qualify me?

 

INTP villains don't take over the world. They destroy it so that they can finally have some goddamn peace and quiet.

 

Whatever, destroying or taking over the world is too much work to do, anyways.

 

That's why most INTP villains are all powerful beings with no clear motives. They're like Galactus. When you get down to the nitty-gritty of it, he's pretty much just a guy looking for something to eat.
