What IxxP am I?

I am almost for certain an IxxP type. After months (maybe years) of studying cognitive functions and mbti, mosly for the sake of understanding it for myself, and learning for the sake of learning something new, I think I use the functions of either a Fi dom or Ti dom (and pulling all nighters on ocassion). What do you think?

On nearly every single test I take, especially when I'm in a calm enough state to not get stressed I get an INxx result.

I do not know the enneagram as much as I know the MBTI, but I do wish to learn it.
My hunch so far is that I am a 4/5/9 in no particular order.

EDIT: I'll step off my lazy sloth branch to answer a questionnaire.

0. Is there anything that may affect the way you answer the questions? For example, a stressful time, mental illness, medications, special life circumstances? Other useful information includes sex, age, and current state of mind.

Yes. I am very avoidant, socially awkward, and at the moment, quite stressed. (It seems whether I am stressed, I give off an xSxJ vibe, but in my relaxed state I am some kind of xNxP, usually INFP). Age 15, relaxed.

1. Click on this link: Flickr: Explore! Look at the random photo for about 30 seconds. Copy and paste it here, and write about your impression of it.

https://www.flickr.com/photos/uberdogleg/23644465154/in/explore-2016-01-09/

The combination of the Milky Way and the Northern Borealis (Don't care what to call it) represents the changing of ways, the aligning and merging of two worlds, born from the charred ashes of the old, like a phoenix rising from the grave. The route of the road symbolizes progress, hope, and the future, much like the endless road that is life.

Overall, the picture gives off the strong feeling of progress, and change, two things I strongly value.

2. You are with a group of people in a car, heading to a different town to see your favourite band/artist/musician. Suddenly, the car breaks down for an unknown reason in the middle of nowhere. What are your initial thoughts? What are your outward reactions?

I don't need my emotions to solve this one, I am quite the stoic. Depending on the competency and ineptitude of the people with me, I could see several possible outcomes; of course, I would figure out how the machine works, then experiment with solving the problem. If the people are competent enough, either the car wouldn't break down, or they would be fixing the car.

This wouldn't be the first incident to happen to me, as my hunches seem to be correct, very often. No matter how far out they may seem.

3. You somehow make it to the concert. The driver wants to go to the afterparty that was announced (and assure you they won't drink so they can drive back later). How do you feel about this party? What do you do?

I am not much of a party person, not only am I the stoic, the socially awkward, and possibly shy, and impulsive (I used to pride myself on my patience, but I do act on an impulse at times). However, I would probably withdraw to an isolated corner and play video games to kill time like swatting flies. After this, I would opt for a backseat, due to my easy-going, lazy nature.

4. On the drive back, your friends are talking. A friend makes a claim that clashes with your current beliefs. What is your inward reaction? What do you outwardly say?

Live and let live, I say. To each their own, and this is no different from my friends. I would argue if I wanted, and argue I would for fun, but ultimately, I like to let others live the way they want, without any interference. I am well known at school for being completely uncontrolling, and having a calm prescence.

5. What would you do if you actually saw/experienced something that clashes with your previous beliefs, experiences, and habits?

If it makes sense, I would actually adopt the thing that clashed with my belief/experience/habit (BEH). However, if it does not, I would stand up for what I believe in.

6. What are some of your most important values? How did you come about determining them? How can they change?

Some of my values include...

The Future, and progress (We all know it will happen, and that we all die someday, but why not make the most out of it? There are so many possibilities you can do with your life.)

All progress is inevitable, and I will work towards the mission of preserving and furthering progress, no matter how much I have to knock tradition, centuries old norms, and other cultural values into the ground.

Knowledge and the Truth (Ignorance is the source of most suffering, and when the truth is revealed, knowledge of it comes, and enlightens our minds like the words of God. Accept truth, and you will accept enlightenment).

Life (Even though I am not the altruist, I still want others to live the life that they've always wanted. If someone wants my help, I do not directly nurture them, rather I teach them from a distance).

Freedom (No matter how intangible my idea of "Freedom" goes, it goes without saying that freedom far outweighs "safety and security." My definition of Freedom has been combined from several other meanings, branched all into one, like a spider web converging onto itself, or maybe a huge star forcing itself and it's mass into it's dying core.

7. a) What about your personality most distinguishes you from everyone else? b) If you could change one thing about you personality, what would it be? Why?

(almost) Everything. I come across as a huge cloudcuckoolander, with my absent mindedness, daydreaming brooding nature, and the fact I don't seem to pay attention as I think of more things I could possibly do. I often slip non sequitur into answers to see what would happen.

If I could change one thing about my personality, it would be to perhaps be more empathetic and able to relate to people on a emotional level. Currently, I don't particularly have that kind of ability. Having this would help me achieve my goals and get me closer to the truth.

8. How do you treat hunches or gut feelings? In what situations are they most often triggered?

I trust instinct, gut, and abstract patterns, no matter how outlandish and esoteric they may seem.
As I stated before, these hunches seem to be unusually correct, and they've have happened more than once, sometimes several times in the same day. Patterns, no matter how intangible they may seem, will be valid information to prove something.

9. a) What activities energize you most? b) What activities drain you most? Why?

a) Intellectual Stimulation, but primarly that from reading manga, watching anime, playing video games, theorizing about them, and debating those with other people.

b) Socialization, especially forced, having to cooperate, being forced into activities that don't seem to make sense, and that I don't take any interest in. Having to memorize something against my will is incredibly unfun, and I even broke once because of it.

10. What do you repress about your outward behavior or internal thought process when around others? Why?

I usually repress my emotions, not out of fear, or necessity, but because its just my natural state.
I also hide my easy-going, calm, completely un controlling nature to the public, but this is out of fear of being punished.

My internal thought process, maybe it should be explained by the cognitive functions post below. I am not good at explaining my internal labyrinth, maze, and framework of how the world works, and what revolves around and outside it.

However, to get along with other people and to get on their good side, when I am NOT actively day dreaming, I act like the cloudcuckoolander described, but this really works to my advantage, furthering me towards my mission in life.

Previously, I thought I did not have Ni, but my answers above are clearly hazing my judgement. It turns out, I do have a vision all along, and I'll keep it blunt and straightforward: Find, hunt the truth, and further progress.

Keys to Cognition says I'm either an INTP, ENTP, or INFP, but after what I answered above, I am highly doubting that

The latest test I took, I got a clear INTP.

#3 ·
It looks like you use Ne. It's not clear if you use Fi or Ti for you're dominant function. I would say either INFP or INTP

I would suggest you take my Jungian cognitive function tests. Then I can help type you :)

Fe vs Fi test

1.Are you more about people and social connections” (Fe)? Or personal values, authenticity and identity” (Fi)?
2.Do you believe that individual development is important, but social masks are necessary? Masks are ultimately tools. One can convey their true self through moving along with the current than against it (Fe)? Or everyone is entitled to be themselves, free of the nuisance of social convention. Conforming may be better for short term effects, but the ultimate goal is to see individual development (Fi)?
3.Do you work best with the emotions of others (Fe)? Or work best with your own emotions (Fi)?
4. Do you notice how you make others feel (Fe)? Or do you notice how others make you feel (Fi)?
5.Do you show your empathy through saying confirming language such as “Oh no,” and “Aw,” (Fe)? Or exposing your own experiences and struggles as a means of letting the other person know they’re not alone? (Fi)
6.Do you believe in global morals, or/and conform to group morals (Fe)? Or do you believe that everyone is one-of-a-kind and has their own set of values, just as you do yourself (Fi)?
7.Do you have empathy more on a global level, such as empathy for the human race (Fe)? Or empathy for a group of people you feel your values and experiences are related to (Fi)?
8.Would you say “I will do what I think is right, because doing otherwise would do harm to others around me (Fe)? Or I will do what I think is right, because doing otherwise would be inauthentic to who I am as a moral person (Fi)? Examples: You are against adultery because “I would hurt the people I love” (Fe) or “It goes against my ethics” (Fi)? You are against illegal downloading because; “I will set a bad moral example” (Fe)? Or because “I am not a thief” (Fi)?
9.Do you prefer to create an atmosphere of harmony and where everyone is “getting along” (Fe)? Or creating an atmosphere that coincides with your inner values; regardless of whether everyone is ‘feeling alright’ or not (Fi)
10.In a spat, do you appeal to the whole group in an “everybody settle down” kind of way, apologize and compromise to keep everyone happy (Fe?)? Or stubbornly stick to your guns because someone violated an issue of importance to you, and probably latch onto one individual and either calm them or remove them from the situation in an attempt to neutralize the situation? (Fi)?
11.At a park, are you more
Extroverted Feeling (Fe)? You make sure everyone feels involved and has their needs met. Does everyone have a buddy? Nobody should be alone! Let’s go to the bathroom first, okay? How do we feel about hamburgers for lunch? Is that okay? Let’s meet over there, shall we? Does everyone know the plan, so no one is left behind? Let’s take a vote on which direction to go first! Fe will go on a ride it doesn’t like so a friend doesn’t have to do it alone.

Or Introverted Feeling (Fi)? You decide which direction to go based on what is important to you. I’m going on this ride. No, it’s okay, I can go by myself. I don’t need you to come along unless you want to. I’m serious. I’m not afraid to do it alone. I’m not feeling the burgers, either. You all go ahead. I’m going to dash over to that taco stand. Nope, not going on that ride. You can beg all you want, I won’t do it. I’m scared of heights. Not a chance, bud. Drop it.

Te vs Ti test

1.Are you more about applying logic/organization to your external world (Te) or inner world (Ti)?
2.Are you more about execution and effective organization (Te)? Or ideas and logical understanding (Ti)?
3.Are you more about organization for efficiency, by the book, like to make things happen, and systematic (Te)? Or about analyzing everything, taking things apart to know how they work, and checking for accuracy or inconsistencies? (Ti)
4.You have a gadget in front of you. Do you take the gadget and see what you can do with it? See what results you can achieve with it? Ask how can I make this happen? And what external impact can it cause? (Te) Or do you take apart the gadget to understand the parts or essence of it. Do you ask how does the gadget work? Is this accurate? Is this consistent? (Ti)?
5.Do you want to USE information (Te) Or UNDERSTAND it (Ti)?
6.Do you want to figure out how things can get done/results focused (Te)? Or understand how things are and fit together/ knowledge focused (Ti)?
7.Do you like to come up with a decision and stick with it (Te)? Or always open for new insights and ways to perfect an idea (Ti)?
8.Do you organize your bookshelf by tallest to shortest books (Te)? Or favorite to least favorite books (Ti)?
9.Do you focus on organizing things into a unified whole/look at how things relate to one another (Te)? Or focused on separating things into their unique parts and classifying things (Ti)? Example, who are you in this conversation? Hubby (Te) or Wife (Ti)
Hubby: I want to go to the blue hardware store.
Wife: I want to go to Lowes.
10.At a park, Are you more
(Te) busy organizing others and coming up with “battle plans.” Which direction do we go first? Give me the park map. Okay, where do we want to be by noon? When and where do we meet for lunch? Who is in charge of watching the kid? Which rides do what? When is the bus leaving? What do we have time for? How long are the lines? Okay, everyone who wants to go on these twelve rides, line up to the left! Everyone else to the right! We meet back here at 7pm! No stragglers! Does everyone have their phone on? Good!

Or (Ti)? busy analyzing how the rides work and what makes the most sense. If I go this way, the path winds around past what I want to see, and by the time we’re to meet up, I’ll have been all the way around the park. I won’t have to walk back, or rush from one side of the park to the other. Wait, why are they all walking in the opposite direction? Don’t they know this is the logical way to do it? If you go that way, you’ll engage in needless walking and won’t be able to get through the line in front of the House of Mirrors

Fe vs Fi:
1. Personal values, identity, and staying true to myself are what I live for. I know and am hyper-aware of what I am feeling, and what makes me feel that way. However, I am also interested in people and connecting to others, albeit I have a hard time doing so.
Probably Mostly Fi.

2. Everyone has the right to be an individual. Live and let live, I say. Fi.

3. I work very well with my own emotions. Often, when I have to make do with other's emotions, I seem to mess up.

4. Fi, I seem to be hyperaware of my own emotions and feelings, no matter how low and repressed they may seem, and what or who is making me feel that way.

5. Fi. I share what I've been through to get on their good side, and make them happy.

6. Everyone is an individual, and we are all different, and paradoxically, similar. My values are very important to me and I stick by them.

7. My empathy and sympathy are centered around those close to me. Fi.

8. Fi.

9. Fe, despite my ramblings on individualism, I do wish we could just all get along.

10. I am known as the compromiser in my small circle of friends. I seem to be able to make a compromise that makes everyone happy, although people overlook this.

11. Fi scenario seems like me.

Te vs Ti.

1. My inner world is like a little playground I enjoy, Ti.

2. A bit of both, while execution hugely matters, my desk is a total mess, and I seem to enjoy the prospect of a new idea.

3. The Ti description fits me to a T, literally.

4. I want to understand the gadget, I want to know how it works, and see if it fits with my inner ideals and framework.

5. I must understand information to use it. Ti/Te.

6. I am quite obsessed around knowledge and wanting to know everything. One of my life mottos is that everything is connected.

7. I like to leave my options open, and am very open-minded to new perspectives, insights, and improvements. Everything has room for improvement.

8. I sort them out by what franchise they are, and colors.

9. I am the Hubby. I look at how it fits toward the greater picture, the bigger scope.

10. Ti, I am too busy (over) analyzing how things work, and am perplexed by anything that I don't consider to make sense. Of course, I would probably go to the park after a very stressed time, and this would be a park I visited before.

#5 ·
Ok. I understand you're dilemma now. You seem to use a lot of Fi and Ti.

How do you act when stressed?

(Fe)? Do you become uncharacteristically sociable and outgoing, become inappropriate or obnoxious in social situations, lose their calm demeanor and snap/whine at others. They are unable to see situations clearly, becoming very messy, distracted, or confused in their thoughts, resulting in less efficient and even forgetful actions. This can prompt them to emphasize logical analysis to an even greater extreme, sometimes becoming obsessive and demanding about proving some insignificant detail or solving an impossible problem. As these behaviors cause more hardships, they might try to withdraw from life. Some Ti-doms become hypersensitive to the opinions of others, misinterpreting innocuous actions as signs of dislike, disapproval, or rejection. They tend to lose control over emotional expression, either finding it difficult to express themselves clearly or expressing too much and becoming needy for affirmation.

Or

(Te)? They might: become suspicious/paranoid and more prone to snapping or blurting out hostile thoughts; engage in biting sarcasm or cynicism and project their pessimistic expectations onto the world at large; indulge in destructive fantasies directed at the people they dislike; harshly attack people who are negative or critical; aggressively nitpick or criticize people’s mistakes and berate them for being incompetent; seek out conflicts or pick fights with people they disagree with; become controlling or excessively concerned with being organized; perfectionistic, etc."

Which inferior function resonates the most for you?

Inferior Te (IXFP): I know I had that information before, but I’m not sure where it is. I long to be efficient, but I can’t seem to pull it off. I do like organizing my books, though; they have their own system! I don’t like schedules, but they help me stay on track. Oh, this is wrong! I know I’m forgetting something! I should be more organized! I like to be efficient, and try to use my time wisely, and I enjoy having some sense of control over my life and environment.

Or

Inferior Fe (IXTP): I want to help you, but I’m not sure what to say to make you feel better. I feel protective of you, and I don’t want to hurt your feelings, but sometimes I do. I would never admit it in a million years, but I care how you see me and I need your encouragement. The more I respect you, the more hurt I am if you ignore or belittle me. That being said… I really don’t understand why you’re making such emotional decisions!

Which dominant function resonates more for you?

Dominant Fi (IXFP): I know that this is good, and that is bad. I know that you’re not who you say you are. I don’t need to focus on that particular idea, because it is less important than this other idea or belief. I want to focus on what is important, and I can see the measure of importance of everything in my life: people, causes, thoughts, actions, and feelings. Does this belief conflict with mine? Do I think this action is wrong? If so, I won’t do it. I know what I believe and what is worth believing in. Please, let me have some time to mull over this life-altering decision. I don’t want to make the wrong choice. I feel strong and confident in who I am, and what I believe. I have total faith in you. I know what you need, and will stand up for you when you need me to. I am good at protecting others and showing patience in mediating between them.

Or

Dominant Ti (IXTP): I don’t need to use my emotions to fix this problem, thanks. I know how this machine works. Let me take it apart and put it back together for you. That doesn’t seem logical. The facts of the situation are unimportant; we can solve this, though it might seem impossible. There is a way around every problem. I can give you a two word answer to your question, and those two words will solve everything. The fewer words used, the better. Most explanations are too long-winded and technical, and could easily be simplified. Let me hear the idea or new data; I’m going to analyze and criticize it, and if it doesn’t work, I’m going to throw it out. Come on, you know my impartiality is sexy. Have you ever seen me overreact to anything? No!

Ti: No one is more qualified to determine the truth than myself.
Fi: No one is more qualified to determine what is morally right than myself.
Ti has to rationalize. Fi has to reflect. Ti reflects on logic. Fi reflects on morality.

Ti-Fe types, such as INTP’s, are likely to believe a person must use reason to consider what the correct solution is. They are likely to believe that the solution based on reason is the morally just one. This goes for Fe-Ti (INFJ) to a much lesser degree since the “common good” is prioritized and the reason is secondary. Fe-Ti (INFJ) might use reason to advocate for the common good.

Te-Fi types, such as ISTJ’s and INTJ’s are likely to believe that a person can discern what is morally correct through objective facts and by reflecting upon individualized principles. They are likely to believe that the best solution is the solution represented by facts outside of them. Fi-Te (INFP’s) has this to a lesser degree. They are no less capable, but they prioritize the “rightness” discovered within themselves. They make appeals to facts in the outside world.

Inferior Fe seems to resonate more within me. I feel protective around some people, but I can't seem to explain why to myself. I also find it difficult to relate to anyone on a familial and emotional level, yet I do it at times. When I'm stressed, I also happen to be very self conscious, worrying very much about how everyone else thinks.

While I relate to both dominant Fi and Dominant Ti, I find that I am more objective, especially when I'm in my trademark state of serenity.

I lean on Ti, also; when my feelings, values, or morality gets attacked (especially if its to my face), I usually lash out with words and drop my stoic demeanor.

Thought Catalog's page on Ti-dominants eerily fits me... like it observed me from the time I was born to today, its creepy, but it all makes sense. However, I do relate to some parts of Fi, like valuing following what you believe in, and standing up for it, but overall, Ti just fits me, like a strange glove dug out from the dirt. It also fits the way I analyze (Ti), like seriously.

Have you thought maybe INFJ? They are a unique combination of dreamers and doers. Or does the INTP description really resonate with you? INFJ= Ni, Fe, Ti, Se.
INTP= Ti, Ne, Si, Fe.

Ne vs Ni test

1.While in a forest do you think of the fractal patterns, the wide range of possibilities in the forest, how this forest is part of the ecosystem and is affected by pollution from the city... (Ne) or Recognize that the forest is deeply symbolic of all of life in its interconnectedness and constant recycling and growth and foresees that this forest will soon be torn down for a housing development... (Ni)?
2.Do you have an explosion of ideas, symbols, and possibilities (Ne)? Or do you find one idea and build on it over time (Ni)
3.Are you more about possibilities and randomness (Ne)? Or insights and purpose (Ni)?
4.Is your speech scatterbrained/about multiple topics (Ne) Or more streamlined/ talk about one thing at a time (Ni)?
5.Do you want to go out and try all of your ideas (Ne)? Or be selective with your ideas (Ni)?
6.Is your thought process non-linear (Ne) or linear (Ni)?
7.Do you brainstorm out loud (Ne) or keep ideas to yourself (Ni)
8.Do you focus on “what if's” or “what could be”? (Ne) Or having an “aha moment” (Ni)?
9.Do you find broad shallow symbols and patterns (Ne) or deep symbols, and patterns (Ni)?
10.You are at a park. Are you more
(Ne) sees the possibilities of the park. Look at those two people. You can tell they’re not “together” anymore, but just hanging out for the kid’s sake. See their body language? How many rides are in this park? Do you think anyone ever died here? I think they should put a new ride in this space. Call it the Haunted House of Horrors, and have Dead Presidents in it. You know, they could put up an entire haunted SECTION of the park. That would be awesome. Who do I call to pitch that idea? Stay away from the guy in the red hat. He gives me vibes. Ooh, you know, I could write a story about a murder in a theme park! He could die because the Tilt a Whirl malfunctioned. No, no, because the Tower of Terror ride didn’t stop, it crashed the elevator to the bottom floor! His sister did it. No, his uncle! No, the theme park guy, because he’s freakin’ insane.

Or (Ni)? You know what will happen before it happens. I’m going to take a step back, because that kid is going to spill his slushy all over – yup, there it goes. I know which ride I want to go on. I’ve thought about it all week. I’m going to have an awesome time on that ride. I’m going there first. Wait, there are other rides? I didn’t even notice! I was busy fixating on getting to the head of the line! Marsha better not go on that thing, she’ll hurl—yep, there she goes.

Yes, I have thought of being an INFJ, since my later answers in the OP Questionnaire seem very Ni to me.

1. I am of the belief that everything, and anything is connected to all other things. Whilst I may have the hunch that the forest will be deforested in favor of the march of progress, overall, the Ne thought is more likely.
2. It is more like I get an explosion of ideas, then they converge into one amalgamation of the other ideas.
3. I see what could be, so probably Ne.
4. Ni seems like it would fit me, but I often instantaneously jump to another topic, and another, and another.
5. Like I said before, I get the explosion of ideas, but ultimately, I select the sum of them, and go with that.
6. My thought process is straightforward, and linear, so Ni.
7. I brainstorm silently, but sometimes I brainstorm out loud just to act goofy and funny.
8. I can have both, I get Aha Moments extremely often, especially when solving a problem, but I also like to theorize hypothetical scenarios, such as "What if I did that, instead of this?"
9. I focus on a combination of depth and breadth. Neutral I have to be on this.

10. Ne, with a hint of Ni. Probably 60 on Ne, and 40 on Ni, out of 100.

One reason I could have Ni-Se is that I also often completely neglect sensory needs, like eating and drinking, in favor of things I want and like, such as a particular manga. I don't particularly enjoy a materialistic, rich, extravagant life style.

Other times, I am horribly addicted and will completely overindulge in sensory gratification.

Then again, I probably have Si, since I often like to revisit and relive the memories, places, and things that have given me joy in the past. I like to "revisit that good ol restaurant" since it has always given me comfort. Si is quite the stress reliever for me.

#10 ·
Huh, so how about we look at this as to whether you are an INFJ or INTP?

Or

(Se)? "They tend to abandon self-discipline and indulge any impulsive whims that arise moment to moment, even becoming emotionally explosive because they can no longer regulate their own mental functioning. They might overindulge in sensory pleasures like: food, alcohol, drugs, sex, socializing, gaming, risky physical challenges, etc. Their view of situations can become extremely narrow as they become hyper-focused on what certain “facts” mean, with a tendency to overthink details and misinterpret them in a negative, critical, biased, or pessimistic way. As a result, they might even engage in activities that attempt to “shut down” the intuitive mind through intense physical pain or pleasure."

This is what an INTP looks like in real life:

No!

Auxiliary Ne (INXP): Your life has so much potential! I can see many different possibilities for your future! Let me share them with you! There is more than one way to look at this situation. It would be a shame not to talk about them all. That’s a great idea, but what about this? Or this? Or that? Let’s discuss and consider them all. I have an analogy that fits this situation, but you’ll have to hang in there to the end, because at first it will sound random. I promise, it isn’t! Let me paint the big picture for you! Let’s try this, it’s new and it’s crazy but it might work! Yes, I thought you might make that decision / that this would happen. Excuse me, I need to write a story…

Tertiary Si (INXP): I love to revisit things that have given me joy in the past. Going to the same museums, watching the same favorite old movies, and thinking about an old idea is a lot of fun for me. I’d actually rather go to the tea shop again than try out a new hot spot. I find history interesting. Oh, do you want to know everything I learned about Ancient Egypt / the Klingon Conflict? I have all the details right here! I have a box of Star Wars memorabilia in my closet. Oh, I remember that smell… this tastes like my grandmother’s cookies… no, that’s not how “they’re” is spelled. I like familiar things and when I am upset, they comfort me.

This is what an INFJ looks like in real life:

Dominant Ni (INXJ: No, I haven’t learned this before. I just know how to do it, that’s all. Let me guess what that means… am I right? Yes! I knew it! You can’t ask me to stop thinking about the future; I think about it all the time! That person is going to do that, and this will happen as a result. I am not wrong. You wait and see. (Told you!) I don’t like this, it didn’t happen the way I anticipated it would! No, I don’t want to change my plan at the last minute! How can I fix this? Where did I go wrong? I have a creative way to explain this process to you! Interpreting symbolism comes easily to me. Visualizing my goals, and my future, makes me happy and energizes me! I can see where I want to be, and where I am, and come up with each step necessary to reach my dreams.

Auxiliary Fe (IXFJ): I know what is important to you, and can support you in it, provided it doesn’t hurt others. I’m not always comfortable taking sides. Can we talk about this and reach a compromise that keeps everyone happy? I don’t want to upset people, and I can easily fit into a group and make everyone feel wanted and involved. Your emotions can influence mine, so I am careful not to let too many people in. I want to take care of you, and protect you. You are so talented. I hope you know that, and how much I like you. I’m happy to serve, but feel better when I get how I feel off my chest and out into the open.

Tertiary Ti (IXFJ): I am interested in learning how to make things run more smoothly and efficiently. Please be as clear and concise in your explanation as possible, so the message isn’t lost in theatricality. I’m sorry, but I see a logical inconsistency in the statement you just made; may I point it out to you so we can talk about it? I really love thinking about my ideas (Ni) and experiences (Si), and analyzing them to see what meaning they hold for me, and why. I’m good at putting a name to what is happening around me.

Inferior Se (INXJ): My awareness of my environment gives me “clues” about other people, which feed my intuition, but the less I pay attention to the people and things around me, the more wrong my conclusions are. I sometimes feel overwhelmed with too much sensory information all at once; can we put away the disco ball and turn the music down? I wasn’t sure I would like that scary ride, but I did! I’m going again! I really want to see my dreams become real, and I’m willing to do all the hard work required to make it so. I like learning things that help me be stronger and more fit.

Who are you in this conversation? Ni or Ne?

Ne is me saying, “I’m getting indistinct impressions and I think she’s mad at me, so I’m going to dig around more to see if I can get her to say what’s wrong.”

Do you want to find the "absolute truth" (Ni)? or think several possibilities have the potential to be the truth (Ne)?

"Ni and Ne may reach the same conclusion but Ne will be less certain in articulating that conclusion as an indisputable fact because since Ne is focused on external possibilities and doesn’t like to narrow things down like Ni does, Ne anticipates that with additional information their assumption may change."

"Ne is expansive, pulling not only from the immediate environment but a fast storehouse of similar knowledge (Si), so it is good at reading connections between other people, but it is not good at magically coming up with an answer after sleeping on something, which is something Ni is known for. (Ni- ”Oh, the answer just came to me… I know what to do…”) Ne looks outward, eager for information and inspiration, with a desire to discuss, and Ni looks inward, looking at something from every angle before deciding if it fits in its inner framework. "

"Ni is an INTJ I know articulating something as an absolute; and an (Ne) ENFP I know arguing with him that he doesn’t know that for sure."

The unique childhood struggles of the INTP:

INTPs are one of the most intensely curious of all the children. They are driven by a need to understand the world, and are extremely independent and strong-willed. They are incredibly logical and matter-of-fact, and are very skeptical of established facts or theories. They love to question and explore alternatives, and often have original, ingenious ideas. They are adaptable and easy-going, and usually have a fun, offbeat sense of humor.

The unique childhood struggles of the INTP

INTPS are natural skeptics, who are driven by a need for logic and truth. Because of this, they have a naturally argumentative style that is often at odds with their parents authority. They question everything, and with very strict parents can often feel stifled and held down. For them, as with the other NT types, respect needs to be earned, not automatically given. They don’t mind disagreeing with an authority figure if they see something that doesn’t make logical sense. Because of this, they can end up getting frequently punished because the parent sees them as being disrespectful to their authority. This can be quite frustrating for the INTP child who just wants to get to the truth of the matter at hand.

INTPs see many possibilities and ideas everywhere, and in school find it hard to stay focused. They hate the repetition and routine, and want a steep learning curve. They are usually highly intelligent, and don’t care that much about grades or what their teachers think of them. They are usually much more intelligent than their teachers are aware of, because they don’t feel the need to “prove” their intelligence. They may get so bored during school that they scribble down answers without thinking, and get poor grades as a result. In their minds they have more important things to be thinking about than the same sums day after day after day. This can lead to problems at school or at home, with parents or teachers who judge the child as incompetent or lazy. Parents of INTPs do best to pay attention to what areas of interest their child has, and to encourage and support their child in pursuit of that interest or goal. They can learn quite a lot by discovering all there is to know about an interest they have.

INTPs are easily overwhelmed by too much noise and talking. They live life primarily inside their own heads, and find noise and lecturing a constant interruption. Because they are so internal, they can often come across as clumsy or slow. They really aren’t slow, but each time they are asked to engage they have to forcefully pull themselves out of their own thoughts and ideas. Too much noise or sensory stimulation is overwhelming for them, and as very young children can display tantrums in reaction to sensory overload. They may bury their heads in a pillow and scream or just isolate themselves from all noise.

One major issue that INTPs deal with is that they think through things logically, and without a lot of emotion or feeling. They find themselves confused by other people’s feelings and emotions, and have a hard time understanding social niceties. They are often misunderstood because of this and reprimanded for not using manners or engaging in small talk. This can be very frustrating for them.

INFJ children are dreamers in every sense of the word. They are highly imaginative and creative, and also very private and protective of their inner worlds. They are often quiet, gentle and sensitive, but if one of their values is questioned they can instantly become fiery, passionate and (sometimes) stubborn. They are very intellectual and empathetic, concerned with the world and everyone in it. They are always looking to understand the meaning of everything that touches their lives; feeling that it is all connected somehow.

The unique childhood struggles of the INFJ:

INFJs live inside a rich inner world. They thrive on the ability to use their imagination, to analyze, and to ponder. For this reason, things like interruptions, being part of a more extroverted family, or sudden changes in plans can greatly upset them. They get so caught up in their thoughts that to be interrupted or pulled in a different direction is very stressful for them. This may also make it harder for them to concentrate on projects that don’t fall in line with their inner world; and although they want to please their teachers, they can often struggle with the more rote aspects of school.

INFJs are often very shy as children; but also very much want to be liked or to have one or two very close friends. They can often have a hard time making friends because of their intensely private natures; although they are usually well-liked by their peers because of their warmth and sincerity.

INFJs derive strength and nourishment from being able to spend time alone daydreaming. This is often suppressed by parents and the world, who are more concerned with “getting things done”. However, this isn’t just a desire for an INFJ, it’s a need. Their dominant function is introverted intuition, which is often accessed through ‘daydreaming’, and without being able to use it they can feel a huge amount of stress; as anyone does when they can’t regularly access their dominant function. Imagine how damaging it would be to tell an ESFJ (the most common type in females) to not care about other people’s feelings anymore. Because many can’t see the practical purpose of introverted intuition (plenty of people can see the practical purpose of caring about feelings or thinking logically) INFJs are often told to get out of their heads, stop daydreaming, and get to work on the sensory aspects of life. For this reason, the use of their dominant function is often stifled during childhood. They make up only 1-2% of the population, and because of a lack of understanding can often grow up feeling misunderstood, and forced into a box that just doesn’t “fit them”.

If you’re parenting an INFJ, try to make sure you give your child plenty of time to think and daydream. Try to protect them from a demanding and high-speed world by creating private times and places they can go to be alone. It’s best not to interrupt an INFJ when they’re working on a project or thinking hard about something (unless you have to). Their mind is so busy making connections and so focused on their idea that, when interrupted, it feels to them like all their finely tuned internal pieces have just been scattered everywhere. They can lose interest in the project altogether and become very frustrated. They are perfectionists as well, and hold themselves to such a high standard that they can get frustrated easily while trying to perfect their projects and ideas.

INFJs intensely hate conflict; like all extraverted feelers, they absorb others emotions within themselves. They greatly desire harmony in their outer world, and if someone is stressed or unhappy they will feel it inside and do whatever they can to make things harmonious again. For this reason, divorce, fighting, or any kind of anger is taken very hard by them. They also take criticism very personally, and can often feel insecure in a family where their feelings aren’t handled carefully by those around them.

INFJ children have a hard time understanding their own emotions, but can easily pick up on other people’s emotions. For this reason, they can easily get overwhelmed or confused about how they feel. Along with INTJs, INFJs are the most likely to experience health problems as a result of internalizing stress and emotions.

Whilst I have traces of Inferior Fe when stressed, when I am stressed out a lot, I WILL indulge in sensory gratification, and lots of it. Se takes the cake for my stressed state. One case can be made that for Inferior / No Se is that whether I try a new physical activity, I get dizzy, even when trying to warm up (esp. Ice Skating).

One reason I may have higher Fe, is that I can detect liars just by looking at their face and how they are saying it, although this was only done through meticulous research and practice.

While I see myself in both cases of INTP and INFJ, I feel like I am more INTP. If I was an INFJ, I'd probably be in a Ni-Ti loop (Said to be linked to Schizoid), since as I said before, I find it hard to empathize with others. I also don't understand it when other people make decisions based around a very emotional basis.

However, what I seek is several "pools" of truth to get to the bottom of the "absolute truth." In the conversation, I would probably be tilting towards Ni. From what I've experienced, most of my thinking and reasoning seems to be convergent (One from many), although I do get explosions of ideas and possibilities just from observing the external environment, even from the simplest of things.

"Ooh! Grass! Let's make a story about the grass' inner world, and what it may be thinkin! No matter how impossible that is! Nothing is impossible! Infact, the grass may all we know be sapient! Or... let's make a story about how the grass grew up from its humble beginnings as a Grass-Infant, weeping to its mother, to a mighty adult of a Grass stalk!"

As a child, I was flaunted for my ideas and creativity, especially by one of my teachers whom I will not name, If I remember correctly, she said my ideas would "change the world." I was also immensely curious, often becoming a complete bookworm. Unlike the majority of other people, I strongly believe that respect must be earned, not simply given. I usually start with no respect, nor disrespect towards strangers. This comes across as apathy and indifference.

Since I seek the truth, I also wish to eliminate deceit and lies, and I won't hesitate to disagree with someone if I think it is not true. If I don't argue, it is usually out of fear of punishment.

In school, I often drift off thinking about something else. I don't exactly care about what my teachers think of me, and encouraging words and shallow compliments like "That was good!" are absolutely meaningless. I want critique on how I can improve, although when I am flustered and thus stressed, such compliments actually help me out. Another thing that is unusual about me, is that I actually take an apology, as a personal insult. Unless the one apologizing actually means it.

It actually hurts my head and gives me slight nausea and even I end up dizzy in a loud environment, this was self evident from the concerts and school pep assemblies I went to.

Often, due to my social awkwardness, absent minded nature, dislike of small talk, and disregard for norms (social and gender, my father often lectures me on how you should be this, or that.)

My teacher saying that I have wonderful ideas and that I could "change the world" with them probably relate to an INFJ. "Everything is connected" also fits me. I can be quite the quiet one, but I am insensitive. When others seem to weep in sorrow, I wind up bewildered by why they are feeling this. The struggles of others don't seem to impact me greatly at first, but they do deep down.

Things that do tie me to the INFJ description as a child are...

  • Dislike sudden changes in plans
  • Trouble concentrating on projects not pertaining to their inner recreational field that is their world
  • I want to please my teachers and see them visibly happy.
  • I was very, very shy, socially awkward, avoidant.
  • I desired close friendship.
  • I am empowered by my dreams, musings, and brooding.
  • Without being able to wander off on my own sandy road of the imagination, I can get flustered.
  • I felt like I never fit in with the others, and tried conforming, but ended up completely failing, as I did things different than everyone else. I exhibited cloudcuckoolander like behavior, even when I was young.
  • I abhore a fast paced, demanding environment
  • I dislike conflict, wanting harmony and wishing others to get along, but only if they wanted to. but I never seem to stand up for such a thing.
  • I can subconsciously feel another's emotion, if I will it.
  • Back then, I took criticism very personally unless it was laced with positive feedback, i.e. (you were good!)

However, back in the day, I was well liked for my apparent intelligence.

Difference between INTP and INFJ

Are you sentimental? INTP's are sentimental whereas INFJ's not so much

Si, Se, Ni, Ne are Perceiving functions. These functions are concerned with absorbing life and information. These functions can leave too much info unprocessed- like letting laundry pile up. Life becomes messy. May make bad decisions.

Ti, Te, Fi and Fe are Judging functions. These functions draw conclusions based on received information. They have a desire to move toward an answer, decision, or objective. They can be stubborn to taking in new information that contradicts their own.

Do you consider yourself a perceiver or judger?

Ti as first function- Ti-dom? Not the boss in the room. The guy in the corner who just took apart something and put it back together. Or sat listening to your argument and then dismantled it with one well-placed logical question. The problem solver who laughs when other people are stumped.

Ti as second function- Aux-Ti? Problem solver. Doesn’t see any factual impasse as troubling. Quietly analyzes a situation and does something about it. Isn’t motivated by success so much as deeper understanding.

Ti as third function- Tert-Ti? Self-analyzes and sharpens Fe, but Fe dominates it. More interested in knowing why something happened than in organizing the external world.

Ti as 4th function- Inferior Ti? Weak. Under-developed. Can become intensely critical of others’ logic and self-conscious if Fe is battered around. Gets angry and defensive if forced into a corner. Unconcerned with financial gain.

Ti dominant child:

I am very sentimental and often protect and collect memorabilia, but often I lose them and just move on.

Due to my very different sense of logic compared to others, I often laugh when I apply my framework to the outside world, and hilarity ensues while others think "what the ****"

I often move towards closure, like that of a judger, and I put this before my disorganized and chaotic nature. However, sometimes, my Perceiving and Judging flip. Although I think of my own self as a Judging Dominant, it is also likely I could be a Perceiver dominant as my desk and bed is a total mess, and would make a perfectionist cry their heart out at the prospect of wanting to clean it.

I relate to the INxJ's desire for Utilitarian ideals that benefit the masses, as I find that the most logical philosophy to go to. However, my personal beliefs and values were turbulent in childhood, and were only cemented in my later child years.

I relate to the INxJ's extreme interest in things that interest them, wanting to master it to the brink of perfection. I also dislike busywork and more busywork, disliking repetition and will overlook directions a lot (One time, I got in major trouble for this).

I relate to the Ti-Dom's liking to find inconsistency in ideas, plans, all that good stuff. I do not relate to the Ti-dom's ineptitude in finding a compromise or middle ground. However, I can explain ideas simply, without too much words, like an INTP Einstein said, "if you can't explain it simply you don't understand it well enough."

I am almost never the first to answer a question unless it's just a simple black and white one. When I speak my mind and give an answer, it is very detailed, that is if I actually care about the topic and am being serious.

I relate to the Ti user's penchant for putting things apart then back together to figure out how they work.

What fictional characters do you relate to?

For Fe, do you relate to 1 or 2 more?

1. INFJ’s have Fe, extroverted feeling, as their auxiliary function. They are interested in how other people are feeling, good at empathizing and caring when other people are hurt, and sometimes confused about how they feel unless they talk to other people about it. They are sometimes seen as “extroverted introverts” since their Fe makes them interested in cultivating their relationships with close friends. They are very willing to help those around them and care about how they are doing. Although they may be more reserved about expressing their emotions than an extrovert, they like to discuss how they are feeling with others, and don’t like to process their emotions by themselves. They make emotional decisions based on how the group feels, taking into account the values and beliefs of those around them, and not their individual emotions. They can also change their behavior fairly easily to fit into various groups if they wish, understanding other people innately.

2. While INTPs can do at fair job at reading others’ emotions and are cognitively aware of the appropriate social response, they often do not “feel” what others are feeling. Despite this difficulty in connecting with others on a feeling level, their Fe still desires the same sense of affirmation and validation that FJs readily receive when engaging with people. This need for affirmation can be seen as a motivating force behind INTPs’ desire for achievement. It is why many INTPs score high as Enneagram Threes (3) and display certain narcissistic tendencies. Personally, I never understood my desire to write for a popular audience (rather than an academic one) until I recognized that my Fe was pushing for widespread affirmation.

Because INTPs, wittingly or not, rely on others for affirmation, they may often feel they cannot live without at least one other person in their lives. At other times, they can feel incredibly independent (Ti). Especially when their work is going well, they may feel they don’t really need other people. If they manage to completely isolate themselves from others, they will soon begin to feel that something important is missing from their lives. This prompts them to reinitiate contact with others, at least until they feel compelled to assert their independence again. This cycle of alternating between needing and devaluing others is common among INTPs and narcissists alike.

The INTP’s inferior function is Fe, extroverted feeling. The inferior function can have unexpected influences on personality. Usually they will be uncomfortable with this function and may avoid using it as much as they can. However, especially in times of stress, we can become overly indulgent and obsessive with our inferior functions. INTP’s may seem extremely emotionally distant, have trouble expressing their feelings, and not be able to sense the right way to act/feel in a certain situation around other people. They may have an “all or nothing”; relationship with their feelings; when they are emotional they may either avoid it completely or feel them intensely and become overwhelmed. In addition, INTP’s may be subconsciously drawn to the romantic idea of finding their “place” in life emotionally.

For Ti, do you relate to 1 or 2?

1. ISFJ’s tertiary function is Ti, introverted thinking. Introverted thinking seeks to understand the world of ideas, to make rational logic judgements in one’s mind. Ti seeks logic and understanding the world by taking the experiences and facts of the outer world and filtering them: is this logical? Does this make sense? How can I understand this? Once I have understood this, how can I classify it? They will use their Ti to support their Si-created structure or Fe convictions, adding in logic and facts to support their points. However, ISFJ’s are more comfortable looking at problems in an emotional, interdependent light than a logical, independent light from their Ti.

2. The INTP’s primary function is Ti, introverted thinking. They like to apply logic and reasoning to their internal frame of mind, cultivating an inner world of ideas and structure. They may see life as a series of challenges to be overcome or understood. They like to play with ideas and theories (preferring to deal with the conceptual rather than the fact based). They approach the world through a lens of logical understanding, seeking to understand and organize ideas in their inner world. They have a strong sense of inner control, like working on independent projects, and are inwardly disciplined. When they approach choices in life, they make decisions based on their independent, internal sense of rational and logic. They may appreciate wit and intellectual humor, like playing with ideas, and may seem to approach life with a more serious outlook.

Fictional characters that I relate to:
1. HomuHomu (Madoka Magica, she is so eerily similar esp. as Moemura to my childhood self. The getting dizzy at trying to warm up for exercises and cute awkwardness is "not helping")
https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-...oka_Magica_-_10_%5B1A588994%5D.mkv_snapshot_02.27_%5B2011.03.12_12.27.12%5D.jpg

2. Alphonse Elric (FMA, i don't know, he just seems like me. I thought Edward was more similar, but hes a lot more outspoken. He is also a child bonded to a suit of armor. Don't be deceived by the screenshot.)
http://vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net...okie.net/fma/images/1/17/AlphonseSnapshot.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20111111140615

3. Kyubey (Madoka Magica, his Utilitarian motives are admirable, and the ends justify the means, but for me, only to an extent)
http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net...endsofthemultiuniverse/images/9/95/Kyubey.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20140630022053

4. Shinji Ikari (Evangelion, he feels like a brother, and his face looks like mine)

5. Simon the Digger (Gurren Lagann, pre timeskip, his immense shyness though)
https://p.dreamwidth.org/9ecc64a0b8f7/-/i90.photobucket.com/albums/k259/annwyd/simonia/simon.png

6. Suzaku Kururugi (Code Geass, although I don't stick to the rules as much as he does, he prefers change from within, rather than a more violent approach like with Lelouch)
http://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net...kie.net/codegeassfanon/images/a/af/Suzaku.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20130902212912

7. Madoka Kaname (Madoka Magica, usually when I am in my angsty, empty, or stressed moments, I feel very insignificant and empty except when helping others).
http://images6.fanpop.com/image/photos/34600000/Madoka-madoka-kaname-34624192-500-667.jpg

8. Mami Tomoe (Madoka Magica, lonely is lonely, and it's like Madoka Magica has aspects of my personality given physical form in the form of characters).

9. Edward Elric (I like his approach to things. Think outside the box, like "If theres no door, we'll make one!")

Other: Most Kuudere / Dandere characters.
Kuudere - Heroes Wiki - Wikia
Dandere - Heroes Wiki - Wikia

I am mostly into anime/manga, as you can tell, but I'm not like a "Wapanese / Weeaboo" or an "Otaku"
I think I might be a feeler since a lot of those characters are feelers. (I've heard Homu as being INTP, though)

I don't like to express my emotions nor do I like to discuss how am I feeling to other people, nor do I like to change my behavior to fit into a particular group (however, I can mesh into a character very well if I am roleplaying as them, and I know the ins and outs of their character).

I guess that leaves INTP. Another person (kitty) pegged me as INxP.

You said you were Ti right?

They make appeals to facts in the outside world
