So, when it comes to Hogwarts and Ilvermorny Houses, this is what we've got so far:
INFP- Thunderbird, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Slytherin, and Horned Serpent
A large percentage of responders so far have been INFPs, and we're a little all over the map. Adventurers, Brave, Kind, Cunning, Scholars. It's pretty interesting considering INFPs are called "Healers" and yet the preference is more toward Thunderbird than Pukwudgie. I think this maybe tells us a little about the underlying Joan of Arc tendencies of the INFP. Like Oddly Developed Types illustrated, you could put us in charge of a bunch of robot slaves because we don't ask for pay-raises, but don't be surprised if, a year later, we've started a revolution for their freedom.
ENTP- Slytherin, Ravenclaw, Horned Serpent, Wampus
I'm getting an intelligent/ambitious vibe from the ENTPs that responded. Clear, defined goals with a lot of potential and drive to back up their realization. And not only that, they've done their research. But I also think that these ENTPs are one's to defy their houses stereotypes (The mean Slytherin, the stuffy Ravenclaw), since I understand ENTPs to be prety fun and laid-back. But like a duck on a pond, they may appear to be floating casual on the surface, but underneath they're paddling like mad.
INFJ- Ravenclaw, Pukwudgie, Hufflepuff, Horned Serpent
This is an interesting one! If I'm not mistaken, I'd venture a guess that Ravenclaw/Pukwudgie combinations are somewhat common for INFJs. My sister-in-law is a Ravenclaw/Pukwudgie and it couldn't fit her more perfectly (especially since she works as a hospital lab tech). I think the Hufflepuff and Horned Serpent elements tie in nicely. Intelligence + Kindness. Something tells me it has to do with their Ni/Fe function combination.
ISFP- Slytherin, Thunderbird
Only one ISFP responded so far, but with the similar functional stack to INFPs, I'd say that Fi is maybe a heavy influencer towards the Thunderbird-Adventurer preference. The soul longing for expression and freedom. And with their Slytherin side, this ISFP is going to do big things.
INTP- Ravenclaw, Thunderbird
I think for this one, the house differences between INTP and INFP comes from Ti/Ne vs Fi/Ne. In my experience, I've found INTPs and INFPs to be very similar in a lot of ways, just directed from different locations: head vs heart, reason vs instinct. When I think of a Ravenclaw/Thunderbird I seem to think of Arthur Spiderwick or more cerebral versions of Newt Scamander and Bilbo Baggins. Driven to seek out knowledge by their insatiable curiosity and wonder.
ESTP- Slytherin, Thunderbird
So many Thunderbirds! It's amazing! To me, this seems like the perfect ESTP Hogwarts/Ilvermorny combination. The ambitious, cunning adventurer. Much like the dashing Flynn Rider, right? It seems to be the perfect embodiment of the Se/Ti function pair. Watch out for this ESTP world.
ISTP- Gryffindor, Pukwudgie
I'll be honest, this was not what I was expecting. Therefore, it intrigues me. Thinking of a Gryffindor/Pukwugie combination in an ISTP context, I'm almost reminded of Yun from Akasuki no Yona, or Puddleglum from the Chronicles of Narnia. Slightly grumpy at times, extremely brave, intelligent, and willing to get their hands dirty to get the job done.
INTJ- Slytherin, Ravenclaw, Thunderbird
Let me show you a thing that just occurred to me: Ravenclaw=Ni, Slytherin=Te, Thunderbird=Fi/Se. Whaaaaaat? Intelligent and efficient on the surface with perhaps a free-spirited touch of wanderlust underneath. This can maybe manifest in exploratory and innovative research, or finding pleasure in educational sites like museums and historic structures on vacation (hiking to Machu Pichu, for example, to study the architectural genius of the Incan people).
Well! That's all the insight I have for now! Keep sending in your results! This is fun
