“I was in the swimming pool with my girlfriend and sometimes we like to have a race. Sometimes you have to give her an opportunity to be happy but I win because I don’t like to lose. It’s simple like that.” –Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro, GOIH, known as Cristiano Ronaldo, is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays for Spanish club Real Madrid and the Portugal national team. He is a forward and serves as captain for Portugal. A prolific striker, Ronaldo holds more than his fair share of scoring records, and has been named player of the year multiple times. In January 2014 he hit a major milestone, scoring the 400th goal of his career while playing for Real Madrid.

Ronaldo is one of most the fantastic soccer players the universe ever produced if not the best. He has won many awards in his career.

He does everything and anything to win. He betrayed his close friend wayne rooney in a soccer match at the world cup 2006 when his friend rooney was in the other team so that his own team could win. He will happily multi-task when placed under heavy time constraints because he can play in different positions.

He dominates on the field. He likes to call the shots, is aggressive on the offense, and hates to lose. His personality style also makes him prone to impatience—He lacks tolerance for the mistakes of his teammates, and can often be seen on the field groaning, yelling, and making frustrated gestures with his hands. Still, as a team leader, he commands respect and admiration (and a healthy dose of fear) from everyone he plays with.

He is an extremely hard worker. At Sporting Clube de Portugal, the impatient Ronaldo once had a surgery that could have shorterned his promising career if unsuccessful or could have kept the promising player away from football for a long time. Interestingly he resumed training in few days after the surgery.

Another trait is that he has a high level of personal anxiety. This he evidently shows each time he’s frustrated. This was when Cristiano Ronaldo was criticised for underperforming in Euro 2012 soccer tournament, showing frustration at his team-mates' errors and for walking off into the changing-rooms straight after the match, rather than acknowledging the crowd along with the team. A, There was no doubt CR7’s attitude was influenced by excessive personal pressure to perform which he was unable to do.

Ronaldo is also a footballer known to be intolerant of others. One of such instances was in 07/08 season at Manchester United. He was shown red with a three-match ban for head-butting Portsmouth’s Richard Hughes during United's second match of the season. Even though the player said he had "learned a lot" from the experience and would not let players "provoke" him in the future, he has often reacted starkly to tackles both inside and outside the pitch after the incidence.

Cristiano Ronaldo likes to dress fashionably and can get away with more colorful clothes. He is often seen changing his hairstyle and taking his shirt off.He feels pride in what he does, he wants to be the best, he likes to lead from the front. He likes to embarrass defenders, he would dribble past one or two defenders and then he would the pass the ball backwards arrogantly. Ronaldo built himself a personal museum in his hometown, making him one of two soccer players in the world with his own museum.

German magazine Der Spiegel explains "With the gel in his hair, the diamonds in his ear, his dancing around the ball, his arrogant smile and his dives out of nowhere, Ronaldo behaved like someone who in fact deserved a good beating." He has his own fashion line selling gaudy CR7 belt buckles, leather-pocketed jeans, loafers, and underwear for “fans that want to dress like Ronaldo.”

However he has spent a lot of money on charity as he is always paying for a sick kid’s brain surgery, or cancer treatment, or giving money to help Indonesian tsunami victims. He is always signing fans autographs or he is always supporting people to get through tough phases of their life.

Because of this the forward is often portrayed as arrogant by onlookers and the Portugal captain thinks his reputation often precedes him. "Maybe sometimes, I agree that I have a bad image on the pitch because I'm too serious." He said. He also hit back at critics who have labelled him over-confident."One day I would like to sit with them and have a chat to see in which way they think I'm arrogant, because I think they need to sit with me to know who the real Cristiano is." He said.

I think he's either ENFP or ESFP, both would make sense. You could tell he has a strong Fi

Clearly ESFP. Obvious Se-dom and Fi-aux, not Ti-aux, that's why he's very emotional and touchy sometimes and why he shows himself as very immature also, and, overall, he's not a logical person, there's not Ti at all, just a nice use of his tert Te.

You can clearly see from his lifestyle that he has Se tendency. In the field, he is also very Se, with his playing style (a lot of feint tricks as winger, ambition for goals as striker). He is very competitive Se.

For Fi, it is also not difficult to see. He clearly does not care what people think about him, with his attitude in field (for example mocking Athetico Madric) and press. But he also helps if he wants like the Tsunami victim you mentioned before. If you follow, he actually took Martunis (Tsunami victim) under his wing and supported his football school.

I'd say he's either an ESFP with strong Te or an ENTJ with strong Se. According to virtually everyone who played with him his work ethic is basically unprecedented in football's history, very Te and hardly the first thing you would notice in an ESFP. On the other hand, it's true that his lifestyle sounds very Se-ish and he frequently comes off as a funny guy in interviews, an ENTJ would supposedly look more serious. So he's probably a mix of ESFP & ENTJ, can't tell which (Se or Te) is more prevalent.

And, in terms of enneagram, he's obviously an archetypal 3 (not sure about the wing and subtype though).

Definitely ESFP. ENTJs are extremely good at strategy and leadership. They could be selfish but would never play selfish due to high Te. And they will rather become a coach than a football player.

Compare Ronaldo vs Messi playstyle, we see difference between ESFP vs ISTP.

As an ESFP, Ronaldo depend on his abilities of sensing his surrounded environment, his fast reaction time, power and speed. His skills are good but not the best.
When the situation's getting hard, he's step back and use his 2nd function, Fi. But Fi is no help in a football match, so he's step back a second time and use his 3rd function, Te. We can see that he dive alot, that's a Te thing : )). But because his Te is weak, he's not really good at tactics, teamwork, just above average.

He's also show off, easily get emotional, focus on his own goal than teamwork. Fi things...

About Messi, he is an ISTP. He focus more about system than just himself, someones call him a "system player", and it's true, he's depend on "system". Due to Ti-Se, he's good in both skills and tatics. With Ti dom, he can easily analyze his own skills and tatics to improve them. He is the kind of person that can "think fast on a limit amount of time", ISTP's stereotype.

He's also seem rarely (or never) do dirty tricks, because in an Ti dom's mind, such actions are not good for the whole system (maybe good for his team but not good for a whole football system, something like that). We can see he fall in the ground so many times and just keep standing up : ))

For Football, I think ESTPs and ISTPs are the best players.

he is definitely an ENTJ. very obvious. Wherever he goes, he quickly takes the lead. he follows a constant routine every day And spends most of his time alone. Just see how his style of play changed from beautiful to efficient.
If you compare him to Messi, you see that Messi acts like a calm and lovable artist, but he is like a commander (this is one of his titles) who defeats others and shows their defeat, and It has made many people hate him. Because, as he knows, he is a arrogant player. It is true that se has a high degree, but te clearly takes control. One who thinks that statistics are everything and from the beginning his only goal was to be the best, in his own words, winning is the most important thing and thinks that he is always the best. Ronaldinho and Neymar are ESFP and Mourinho is an ENTJ. It is difficult to tell the difference between Ronaldo and Mourinho, but Ronaldinho and Neymar are completely different. I've been watching him for 15 years now and have seen all of his games and interviews and I am almost certain that he is nothing but ENTJ. He is a clear example of TE.

Being in charge, taking control and having a routine is no where near enough to determine him as a TJ. I've seen plenty of ESTP's do this, and he's an athlete so this sort of behaviour often comes with the territory, you couldn't perform at his level without a routine keeping him in such great shape.

But in reality it's all just guess work, I don't know him, but being a leader and having a routine isn't anywhere near enough to determine someone is a TJ type at all.

All of the things you've pointed out to support the idea he's an ENTJ aren't in any way good evidence he is one. You could get this with most types.

I personally don't know, but ESTP would make more sense considering how impulsive he tends to be, but it's just guess work really.

I think its behavior is more similar to ENTJ and you get the ESTP vibe. But if we want to examine the functions more precisely, it is clear that ti does not exist at all and its behavior is more like inferior fi. He is very interested in symbolism, such as his particular style of running or standing behind a free kick, which is a sign of ni. As for se, when we look at his behavior, we realize that he is a showman and likes to be in the center of attention or that he always tries to enjoy the moment.
