I've recently been looking into the Enneagram and this is what I've been getting. For other people that get this result, what are you like? For others that don't have this type, what would you expect this type of person to be like? I'm fairly confident that this is what I am but there is always that part of me that is unsure about everything...

Could you fill out this questionnaire? It would greatly help in figuring out an MBTI type.

1. Is there anything that may affect the way you answer the questions? For example, a stressful time, mental illness, medications, special life circumstances? Other useful information includes sex, age, and current state of mind.

2. Study these two images here and here. Which one do you prefer and why? How would you describe it?

3. Please describe yourself as a person if you were to introduce yourself to someone else like in a cover letter. What kind of person are you and why?

4. What kind of person would you LIKE to be? Why? What kind of person would you NOT want to be? Why?

5. Do you think there are any differences to how you described yourself and how people actually perceive you? How do you think others would describe you? If there are any discrepancies between these two that are you are aware of; do you know why exactly that is?

6. What in life do you find to be of importance? Why? If you are unsure you can always take the Value Test and post the results here. Do note that it helps if you narrow it down to 20 or ideally 10 values as suggested at stage two.

7. How do you react to new situations in your life? Can you describe an event in your life where you were in an unknown situation? How did you deal with it?

8. Please describe yourself when you are in a stressful situation. How do you act and why? Real life experiences are welcome.

9. Please describe yourself when you are in an enjoyable situation. How do you act and why? Real life experiences are welcome.

10. Describe your relationship to socialization. How do you perceive one-on-one interaction? How do you perceive group interaction?

11. Describe your relationship to society. What are the elements of it you hold important or unimportant (e.g. social norms, values, customs, traditions)? How do you see people as a whole?

12. Describe your relationship to authority. How do you perceive authority? What does it mean to you, and how do you deal with it?

13. Describe your relationship to order and chaos. What do order and chaos mean to you? How do they manifest in your daily life?

14. What is it that you fear in life? Why? How does this fear manifest to you both in how you think and how you act?

15. What is it that you desire in life? What do you strive to achieve? Why? Where do you think these drives and desires stem from or are inspired by?

16. a) What activities energize you most? b) What activities drain you most? Why?

17. Why do you want to know your type? What type do you think you are? Why this/these type(s)? Is there a type that appeals to you, to your self-perception, that you would like to be? Why? If you know your enneagram, please post this here. If you have done any online function tests such as the Keys2Cognition, it helps if you post these results here as well.

18. Finally, is there something else you find to be of importance you want to add about yourself you think might be of relevance when helping to type you?

1. Is there anything that may affect the way you answer the questions? For example, a stressful time, mental illness, medications, special life circumstances? Other useful information includes sex, age, and current state of mind.

~ I'm a 27 year old female. Considered unhealthy on all the MBTI results.

2. Study these two images here and here. Which one do you prefer and why? How would you describe it?

~There aren't any images.

3. Please describe yourself as a person if you were to introduce yourself to someone else. What kind of person are you and why?

~I'm a pretty open minded person with my head in the clouds. I can be judgmental. I try not to be. I usually judge materialistic people or those who follow the crowd... It's something I'm trying to overcome. I don't ever know what's going on in the external world. It's like when you're driving in a car and you completely forget driving to you're destination(I do this a lot. It scares me a bit...). I don't like fighting or arguing with anyone. I'd admit I'm wrong even if I think I'm really right just to save me from an outburst from someone else. I'm very unsure about everything. Nothing is ever set in stone for me.I need a lot of space. I like doing things by myself and I don't like help. I'm not a person that likes to cuddle a lot. I actually just don't like people getting too physically close to me. It freaks me out. Especially people I don't know well. When people get too emotionally close to me and I feel invaded, I cut them off.

4. What kind of person would you LIKE to be? Why? What kind of person would you NOT want to be? Why?

~I don't want to be superficial or ignorant. I want to be wise, I suppose. Fair, and happy.

5. Do you think there are any differences to how you described yourself and how people actually perceive you? How do you think others would describe you? If there are any discrepancies between these two that are you are aware of; do you know why exactly that is?

~I think others don't take me seriously. I come off as a pushover and naive and people think I'm a little weird. A lot of people think I'm snobby.

6. What in life do you find to be of importance? Why? If you are unsure you can always take the Value Test and post the results here. Do note that it helps if you narrow it down to 20 or ideally 10 values as suggested at stage two.

Humble
Tolerant
Wisdom
Open-minded ness
Empathy
Fairness
Inquisitiveness
Calmness
Harmony
Depth
Imagination
Understanding

7. How do you react to new situations in your life? Can you describe an event in your life where you were in an unknown situation? How did you deal with it?

~ I will calmly approach some situations, even big ones. Like my parents getting a divorce. I take big life changing situations like that calmly. I tend to over-react out about small things. Like not being able to find my hairbrush.

8. Please describe yourself when you are in a stressful situation. How do you act and why? Real life experiences are welcome.

~I break under pressure. I don't deal with stress well. I will isolate myself from other people for weeks at a time sometimes if I'm feeling overwhelmed.

9. Please describe yourself when you are in an enjoyable situation. How do you act and why? Real life experiences are welcome.

~I like situations where everyone is getting along and laughing. When I can talk to people I can relate to about meaningful things. I like wide open spaces in nature. I live in town currently and I hate it. It makes me feel claustrophobic. I think I'd love to live 'off the grid' or in the middle of nowhere in the woods in a small cabin with no one around. I don't need a mansion to be happy.

10. Describe your relationship to socialization. How do you perceive one-on-one interaction? How do you perceive group interaction?

~I do not do well in groups. I love one-on-one interactions. If necessary, I will take control of a group if no one else seems to want control. I do not like the responsibility, though, and would rather someone else that is more responsible and reliable take the lead.

11. Describe your relationship to society. What are the elements of it you hold important or unimportant (e.g. social norms, values, customs, traditions)? How do you see people as a whole?

~Social norms make me angry most of the time. Mainly when people cling to their social norms like a security blanket. I don't really put much weight on customs or traditions. I enjoy Halloween! Valentines day seems like a way for company's to make mone, as most holidays do. I'm constantly questioning my values and will change them if I see fit.

12. Describe your relationship to authority. How do you perceive authority? What does it mean to you, and how do you deal with it?

~I see the need for authority. I think certain people really need authority. But I don't like being lead and I also don't like to lead. If something goes against my beliefs, I will definitely not follow authority.

13. Describe your relationship to order and chaos. What do order and chaos mean to you? How do they manifest in your daily life?

~I like order.... but I don't. For example,
I think I do best in structured environments but structured environments make me feel caged in.

14. What is it that you fear in life? Why? How does this fear manifest to you both in how you think and how you act?

~I'm afraid of death. I'm agnostic so I don't have any beliefs that make me feel better about it. Death feels like this inevitable black hole I'm being sucked towards every day. I'm constantly undergoing a perpetual existential crisis.

15. What is it that you desire in life? What do you strive to achieve? Why? Where do you think these drives and desires stem from or are inspired by?

~I don't know, really. I get up everyday and go through the motions. I'm constantly asking myself 'what is the meaning of all this'? 'Does any of this REALLY matter?' 'Will being successfully really make me happier?'. I just want to take everything in and learn about life and become wiser from everything that I learn everyday.

16. a) What activities energize you most? b) What activities drain you most? Why?

~Social engagements drain me. I'm energized when I've had a lot of time alone in peace and quiet to ponder how I feel about everything and if the way I feel is logical. I don't want my emotions to cloud my judgement too much. When I'm unable to be alone to think, my emotions can cloud my judgements.

~I usually type as INFP 4w5, 5w4, 9w1 but I'd like to hear others opinions!

I'm sending this from my phone so sorry for any typos.

18. Finally, is there something else you find to be of importance you want to add about yourself you think might be of relevance when helping to type you?

~Not really.

You're not alone.
I.. I guess I can help you, even though I don't like typing people.

I can definitely feel the 4 in your answer and you do seem to have that airy and quietly individualistic air that 459 have. I can see a bit of myself in your answers, we think, feel and do similar things but we convey them differently.

Does the profile sound like you? It was a big eye opener for me. A burden and relief.
I hope you will be able to confirm your type, it's always helpful to grow as a human being. As yourself. :)

Yes, I do think that the profile sounds like me. I think 459 sounds more like me than INFP. I've considered that maybe I was an INTP before but I know I'm not. I take things personally and I'm not scientific at all. I'm just not a very emotionally warm person like other INFP's seem to be... I've met 3 other INFP's before and only one of them was similar to me. I think he was a 4. The other two INFP's I have met (they were girls) I would have guessed were ENFP. They were really loud and they annoyed me a bit. Now I think that maybe it's because I'm triple-withdrawn. Or maybe they are ENFP's.... Not that I have anything against ENFP's. My sister is one. But I can only take her in doses. She exhausts me but I love her to death. I think the Enneagram added to the MBTI helps a lot because I can definitely see huge differences within personality types. Although everyone is different in their own way, it is interesting noting the differences.
Thank you for your reply!

The thing about INFPs and especially fours is that we constantly feel different and out of place no matter where. I have a dear INFP 4w5 friend on this forum and it's scary how similar yet completely different our views are, we feel the same things and express them in completely different ways. Many INFPs are cold, aloof and daydreamy on the surface, we have this INTJ mask to shield our feelings from the world since they're so precious and we don't know how to put their depth into words.

I'm a lot more fluffier and bit less shy online and on forums like these because they're less pressure and judgement. But it takes me forever and I'm still completely out of the loop so my best advice would be to go with what feels right to you. Feelers doesn't mean illogical or emotional, it's just that we can't help but see the world filtered through our own views and morals and our curiosity makes us put ourselves in other people's shoes. I've tried only using Te and I broke down in many hurtful ways.

I got that result too, but after reading up on enneagram it turned out to be wrong. Just a warning for you. Enneagram tests are wrong 50-60% of the time.
