What iteration? Because in Advent Children and later works he's such an ISFP 4.

 

I'm going off of the original FF7 (though he also comes off as 4-ish in Kingdom Hearts). original Cloud was much more "don't give a fuq"/"stop lecturing me and give me my money". in later games, he seems to have changed from strong and silent mercenary to emo boi.
PS: I think Sephiroth is INTJ 8w7 Sp/Sx

 

I feel as if the emotional, 4-ish angst could be attributed to the inner INFJ in every ISTP....
But to be fair, I do not know the games he appears in very intimately. They are but childhood dreams to me now.

In terms of Enneagram? Gosh, he's just such an autonomous badass.
I could see him being a head type, but I might be remembering his persona all wrong.

ISTP.

 

Seems like the stereotypical ISTP to me. But I'm strictly speaking in terms of FF7. I haven't played anything else with him in it.

 

Cloud's definitely a type 4. In the beginning, his strong, uncaring demeanor was a self-image that he took from his friend Zach. As you play the game, it shatters and reveals a wounded man with repressed memories. Following intense trauma, he actually confused his own identity with Zach, someone in the SOLDIER program that he envied so much. Its the classic 4 defense mechanism of trying to become your self-ideal to cover over the true self, which he feels deficient about. His intense envy for SOLDIERs and Sephiroth caused him to lie about his true origins in the SOLDIER program to Tifa, which he actually failed to make into in the past.

Cloud was so good at assuming the identity of others that he was astoundingly good at wielding the buster sword at first, which his peers thought was incredible since he only learned from watching others. In advent children, Cloud's last words to Zach (in his hallucination of him) was "I am your living legacy", meaning he has understood that his strength was the ability to assume the images of others.
