Hi all,

So I've decided to karate chop this one into a final answer if possible, because why work when I can do this :p (socionics will be next).

Probably obvious already, but I'm trying to figure out whether I fit more with 952 or 925, I've had a decent look around but just haven't found anything concrete in the way of a distinction between the two, I dunno maybe it's much of a muchness and maybes there's a reason I can't find anything... maybe I'm stepping onto an intergalactic conspiracy and harrison ford will contact me out of nowhere and tell me to 'step away, kid'. Well mr ford, I don't want to get greedy like greedo but I gots to know.

From looking at a poll over yonder I know that these tritypes do exist (with 952 seeming more common; within that pole at least), so if I'm lucky too people of either tritype might see this and know something, or maybe they're all dead, ya know, on account of the conspiracy .

Anywhoville, I'll keep looking around but yeah, for now I just haven't found much at all, I have it as 925 basically on a gut feeling/hunch and partly because someone suggested 2/5/9, but then later someone else suggested the evidence I had for that was more of a mistyped 9 thing and so idk I just moved the 2 over one to where I am now.

So there you have it, can anyone help me out?? *premonitions face*

Ugh, I always do this, I ask a question and find the answer myself (or close to) pretty well straight away. In looking around I found someone asked this very question in the polls thread on tritypes, so I followed up the suggestion and did some more reading. Looking at the compatibilities thread also helped me understand the differences more.

So I decided to switch things up, I think in the order of how I tend to operate, having the 5 earlier might explain why I tend to be reserved before initiating or breaking the ice with people like a 2 (I tend to show the ENFP introvert qualities with 5, before I go with the extravert qualities with 2). I also found that I was scoring quite high in 6 (I share a lot of their issues) but thought that this happening a decent amount could be explained by the 5w6 wing. I also decided that I'm just not helpful enough in order for 6 to come into the equation otherwise (they are among the most explicitly helpful types when 2 and 6 are together). Including the 5 makes a lot more sense when looking at the overall picture as opposed to a 6, while having it this way I can also understand my 6 tendencies.

Overall looking into this has been doubly good, as I've been able to understand better what I already had going, so 952 it is for now, :) Maybe the 2 will switch again as I get through some of the unhealthy 5 parts *shrugs*, think the current setting explains the now, haha.

The PerC vets must be seeing this and rolling their eyes :3

I am rolling my eyes but thats because I dont believe in tritypes :p If you know you're a nine, that should be enough. you may say "it doesn't fit me perfectly" but of course it doesn't, it was never supposed to, it doesnt fit anyone perfectly. i think tritypes are just BS made up by people who want to identify with more labels. XD

Haha, you're almost certainly correct! I remember thinking before I jumped into 'figuring it out' a) I probably never will; and b) It doesn't even matter, I will go on being whatever I am, regardless ;)

It's all a spectrum though. The labels are patterns within the psyche. You aren't just one type. You're comprised of a variation stemming from an inconceivable amount of influences. If you take the enneagram and you score incredibly high in a certain type, yet your core type is a bit higher. Would you really just take the core type and throw out the rest? Tritypes take into consideration different areas of our unconscious. The way we deal with other parts of our psyche. Obviously, we all deal with fear, shame, and anger differently. So, it's interesting with tritypes to see how we are in our head, heart, and gut. Tritypes are as much BS as the enneagram is BS. They're just another way of translating and organizing your own variation.

As for the question, do you have any thoughts on your process? Going from your gut hunch, to others feelings, or overanalyzing shit to oblivion? (I'm a 952 INFJ)
