INFP, WHAT IS YOUR SPIRIT ANIMAL???

(and why?)

Kommodo dragon according to my birth day, month and year, which i guess makes sense. Kommodo dragons are extremely rare (only being found on one south east asian island that like 15km long) just like INFP-T male apparently are and despite there appearance are extremely gentle and arent aggressive towards the villagers (infact they generally ignore the villages) who live on the island and have only ever attacked a villager by mistaken identity but only ever wound them then call off there offense. But dont get me wrong Komodos are killing machines that can snap the leg of a fully grown ox or deer in one movement ( 2.6metres long and 100kg+ lizards after all). They are covered in armour and seem slow and dopey in there day to day lives almost dreamy spending most of there day sleeping in the sun. So weirdly finding out my spirit animal reflect my exact traits makes me highly suspicious of the universe as the accuracy feels uncanny.

My spirit animal is a potato.

. . . . because I'm sexy.

:-/

All seriousness aside: About 10 years ago I met this 'hippie chick' (I don't know what you youngsters call that now, but you know what I mean) at a shelter on a hiking trail, and she talked me into doing this guided meditation thing (I'm easy like that), and what I hallucinated was a leopard.

Interesting and unexpected, but was it significant?

Dunno.

Most of my experience suggests that things like that have about as much or little influence on you as you're inclined to ascribe to them.

Hi! Im new around here so I hope Im posting this and its not under the part where im supposed to be replying to anyone! My family and I were having the conversation at dinner the other night and its a question i hadnt given much thought to in awhile and kind of suprised myself by saying i think i would want to be a tree. So ive always found the idea of understanding how different animals experience the world interesting to think about, like how different blooms look to bees and insects that can see in ultra-violet, or how different it would be to have your main sense the sense of smell. Ive always heard cephlopods are very intelligent and recently watched the documentary on netflix called ‘my friend the octopus’ and the end was super sad but this little dude was awesome, riding around on the backs of sharks and stuff. But anyways, back to the being a tree idea... the more i thought about it the last 10 days or so I was thinking about the intensive self growth work ive done the last 8 years or so and just kept thinking about being a tree and spending an entire lifespan trying to reach the sun and then right as its getting chopped down- it has the revelation along with the rest of its group of trees friends that its been spending its whole life reaching for something that had already been there all along. Then as the tree falls to the ground the conciousness of the tree leaves the constraints of form can see the mind blowing true vastness of this amazing mystery were all a part of 🌳💜🐿

I would say a sloth at first but XD I relate to birds, especially the Dicrurus Macrocercus (Black Drongo). They soar with their wings close to the ground, almost touching the grass fields they fly over. A pair or more black drongoes perched on a branch together is as rare as a blue moon, you always see these sleek, black birds alone on bare telephone poles.... and yeah its like me this way  aaaaand its eccentric enough.

For a long while, I often said my spirit animal was the wolf. They're majestic, independent, loyal, fierce, resilient, and beautiful creatures. They're also my favorite animal. I admire them greatly, and got to wondering if maybe it was only admiration, and they have qualities I hope to strengthen and fully possess. (I see this in people I meet as well) But perhaps, they don't actually represent me that well enough to be my spirit animal at the core.

I've come to find that a horse is probably more fitting of my spirit animal. I don't say this in a disappointing way of course, because I also love horses and find them beautiful in their own way. They're peaceful, gentle creatures and have an earthly element to them that is nurturing and warm, an aura that reminds me of a mother's love or a warmly lit fireplace. I probably have a bit of both in me.

On a side note, many friends have likened me to a cat, and I can totally see why.

An INFJ friend says I have a dog aura/vibe. She never explained why. Another friend, this one an ISFJ, called my avatar (who has long ears like some dogs) "little me". The avatar is quite literally an avatar I created for future kind-of business usage, so his observation was interesting.

I don't have a favorite animal to "use" as my spirit animal (I do have a likeness for octopuses and praying mantises for different reasons, though). However, I feel comfortable with the idea of having a dog as my spirit animal, since I am very loyal and when I love someone, I can be as clingy and affectionate as velcro dogs. What kind of dog, though? No idea. Probably a small one. Dachshund maybe? Small critters are cute.

I hate it when I get too late to an interesting thread, like this one. The argument whether a spirit animal is imaginative and should be shared and silly and private was nice. I loved reading arguments on both sides. I could not make up my mind whether they should be private or they can be shared publicly. One might not be sure about one's spirit animal and seeing others share their so boldly might lead to a confusion whether it is just superficially shared or actually meant. I, for one, cannot decide. I am also reticent about sharing unexplored personal imagination. I admire artists who play with archetypes and bring significant meaning to animals and symbols. I like looking at Tarot cards as well. I believe there is some reality in the spiritual realm to these things that has gotten lost in the stupid rational systems of education that have been around for 300 years. With technological advancement, humanity has really regressed when it comes to imagination.

It is one thing to like an animal, another to admire it, another yet to be a fan of it and different still to call it one's spirit animal. It is a considerable leap of imagination. What I can't understand is how can people choose just one. There are so many facets. I was confused between land and sky in the poll question. I think these confusions are rich areas to explore more and to choose one over another is like the end of exploration. I admire eagle, leopard/jaguar and snakes for different reasons. The animals I hate are wild dogs and hyenas. But I don't think that was the question.

Idk, but I feel strangely connected to the white cat in this video. Can quickly go from fight mode to cuddle mode, depending on the situation. She obviously just wanted the cuddles, but figured she needed to secure the situation to get them. The orange cat is a metaphor for obstacles that make it difficult to relax.

I didn't know my spirit animal, but then I had a dream about her. She is a gorgeous bobcat-sized calico cat named Cassandra. She has one green eye and one blue eye, and she has the softest fur I could ever imagine. When I touched my face to her fur in the dream, I wasn't allergic like I am with real cats.

I was at someone's house in the dream, and they owned several very large cats. I rarely see animals in my dream, so this was already unusual. I pet a couple of the cats, but I felt that Cassandra and I had a connection before she even came close to me. She was a very intelligent cat, and it was like she had something to tell me. I felt like I had to court her to convince her to share her knowledge. The owner wanted me to take one of the cats to own, but they wouldn't let me take Cassandra. I still felt like she was my cat. Something about her belonged to me. I determined that she was my spirit animal.

I really think mine's probably just a puppy. A scruffy looking one

I'm very loyal to people I care about, but I'm also kind of too undisciplined to be a fully grown dog. I tend to like power dynamics, via being of service to someone I consider authoritative, just for the fun of it. And I make a lot of noise when something seems off. Lol

Plus, especially ever since I cut my hair really short, I love getting pats/scratches on the head for long amounts of time. It's an easy way to relax me. I'm not denying that I'm fucking weird.

Hawk...or maybe its just something I aspire to be? In any case its something that I derive energy from as of now.

"Hawk people aim to initiate and lead, and may be impulsive from time to time.

One of the greatest gifts a Hawk medicine person can give the world is their visions of a better and brighter future. Visionaries are always ahead of their time and it’s not easy seeing what others are not ready to see.

If you are a Hawk person yourself, understand that Spirit can give you a special task to hold the energy of what could be, of potentials that are waiting to be envisioned. Seek out other people who can support you in your life and never allow others to cause you to lose sight of what is really important to you.

Hawk people have their own unique challenges in life. As messengers, Hawk spirits must share their insight with others. Sometimes the messages may not be what the other person really wants to hear and yet the Hawk totem feels duty bound to relay the message, no matter the consequences." ...more info here: Hawk Spirit Meaning, Symbols, and Totem
