Sense of humour: Half sarcastic, half... un-funny?. For example, I often object to the absurdity of something with the straightest face and the most even voice possible and people somehow find it amusing. See the Tibetan fox in my profile picture? I've been told that I make the same expression.

Favorite comedy movies: A Naked Gun series, Young Frankenstein, The Blues Brothers, Buster Keaton movies, many Italian comedies like Amarcord, Big Deal on Madonna Street and so on. So I would say that in movies I like parodies, surreal and bittersweet humor.

Favorite comedy series: According To Jim and Scrubs are among my favorites. I should rewatch Friends.

Least favorite comedy movies/series: American Pie series, How I Met Your Mother, the fifth season of Game of Thrones (I think it can be considered as a sick, twisted cringe comedy). In general, I dislike a product that becomes self-referential to the point of being smugly self-idolizing, as if they were so groundbreaking. Barney Stintson became stilted to me very quickly, and don't get me started about Stifler. The only time Seann William Scott made me laugh was when his character was beheaded in Final Destination. On a side note, I find "edgy" sense of humor to be often throw-away. A South Park episode makes me laugh once or twice, but then it becomes boring. And I think that by now they are just trying too hard.

Do you consider your sense of humor essential for coping/living? Yes. I use it to make some distance from things and to compartimentalize my emotions.

I use mainly sarcasm.. though sometimes I don't know 'cause I'll just say something nonchalantly (like a comment or an observation) and it magically makes people laugh. I kinda gave up trying to figure out why.

In general I don't usually watch comedy shows. Sometimes the slapstick humor doesn't really appeal to me.. but then again I can't sit still for a tv show or a movie so, can't really say! My favorite kinds of comedy though mainly not from a tv show, are usually ones that I did NOT see coming, like this one!

Sarcastic/subtle humor.

Favorite comedies; In living color, Simpsons (season 1 - 15), Married with Children, Dave Chapelle shows, some sketches on Saturday Night Live as well as Mad TV, and Mystery Science Theater 3000.

Least favorite comedies; Friends, Everybody loves Raymond, and mostly everything that is on tv now.

Do you consider your sense of humor essential for coping/living? I consider my sense of humor to help me de-stress after a hard day or week from work. I usually like to unwind in the evenings with old episodes of the Simpsons or Mystery Science Theater 3000.

I really don't know, but I think I have a weird sense of humor, or a dark one. I remember when I went to the movies to watch Jurassic, and there was a scene where a fat person was running, and the dinosaur ate him, and I just couldn't stop laughing. Or when a person talks with another person really casually, and after having a nice, intellectual conversation, the guy shoots the other person just like that. I don't know how to describe it... But I tend to laugh at things people do not view as funny, and when someone says or do something funny and others laugh, I do not.

Kinda weird, isn't it?

My sense of humor is based on irony, word play, often dry in delivery. I'd either go for a witty one-liner or start a long story. These stories are a mixture of facts, observations, references and non-sense/absurdities/ridicule. I highly value contrast and bipolarity in humor. I also find observational humor amusing, though I dislike demeaning/belittling/scornful jokes. I will laugh at stereotypes, situations and ideas, but I'll strive to never make fun of somebody, especially their physical or mental disabilities.

In humor (and everything else, for that matter...) I'd go for quality over quantity. I will appreciate a sincere, thoughful and funny remark more than a long, try-hard attempt at making fun of something. Fake/forced laughter is not my cup of tea.

My favorite comedy shows are Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Louie, The Office (the American take, still haven't watched the English one), Reno 911, most old MADtv sketches... You can say I'm a "sitcom guy" - I'll find almost all sitcoms funny, though the former ones are in a league of their own. Other shows I find funny are Family Guy, Ugly Americans, Drawn Together, King of Queens, Married with Children, Everybody Loves Raymond, Perfect Strangers...

I don't think I have a least favorite comedy show. As a non-drinker, I would not watch shows that emphasize or depict reccuring/heavy drinking, though I can allow the occasional drink IF it's necessary for the plot and not just thrown in like it's no big deal to get drunk every other day.

My problem with Friends is that it's too emotional-based and has those "moral of the story" moments where the characters would learn from a mistake and make it a part of an episode, with the cheesy "I'm-here-for-you hug". This is why I put Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm on top of my favorite sitcoms list - no unnecessary heartwarming moments. Typical ISTJ, if I might say :)

Nearly non-existent, but I do have one. I tend to take things too seriously at times.

What are your favorite comedy movies/tv?
The Princess Bride, Back to the Future, Home Alone (the first one), Mr. Popper's Penguins, Father of the Bride, Miss Congeniality, Crocodile Dundee

Even more helpful...your LEAST favorite?
Elf (couldn't make it through this one), not particularly fond of anything sophomoric

Do you consider your sense of humor essential for coping/living?
Since I tend to be very serious most of the time, I would be in trouble if having a sense of humor was essential for coping. However, I have a husband(INFJ) with a great sense of humor and life is certainly more fun when he's around.

Amazing. You are in my head, majorly.

I honestly don't know much about all the types of humor in English, but doing just a little research (it's 2a.m. in here, I'm a little sleepy), I'd say mine's a bit quirky, intellectual, kinda silly. For example, when people say the same word or phrase at the same time by accident, I at least chuckle. Everytime. Or jokes based on some specific subject of event you have to know about to get it (like science jokes or jokes based on a book/movie/TV show or on something that happened recently and many people know about). Or something witty related to the current situation. Things like that.

I completely dislike raunchy and slap stick humor. I'm too empathetic for those and don't find them amusing at all. If it's not funny when it happens to you, it's not funny when it happens to others. Period.
Also, I generally don't like sarcasm.

I don't have favourites for anything really. ...I'm sorry. <XD

And wheter I consider my sense of humor essential for coping or living? Well, I guess yeah, maybe a bit. <XP Usually I can laugh at a situation but only when it affects just me in a bad way. If it affects others, not so much.
