ISTP mistyped as INTP?

I've been thinking I might actually be an ISTP, and I'd like some input from the 'experts' on here.

I've been up in Charleston with family for New Years' (what a ridiculous holiday). We rented some bikes and rode around until we hit the beach. I quickly sped ahead of everyone, gained some distance, and was soon alone with myself, my thoughts, the chilly air whooshing past me, and the sound of the waves hitting to my right. It was pretty amazing.

Here are some of my thoughts:

-I'm a very kinesthetic person. 'Do not touch' signs make me queasy. Whenever I see some sort of tool I just want to start messing around with it. I was examining a lighter yesterday and my ESFJ mother quickly became irritated and told me to put it down (I'm 19, damnit).
-I loved LEGOs as a kid, never really followed any instruction books, just kind of built whatever I felt like.
-I get along extremely well with my ESTP father, except for when he tries to socialize too much.
-I argue with my INTJ friend all the time. He tries to predict how future events will suck, I tell him that he should just go see for himself rather than copping out with mental tricks. I can appreciate a lot of things for what they are, whereas he wants some sort of deeper meaning with everything. I could go on for days.
-I can be very direct with people. A lot of this might have to do with being 6'7", and having a very deep and resonating voice. While I can be awkward, I don't think I ever come across as timid.

However,

-I don't have a driver's license. Due to various circumstances, I've never really needed to get one. I'm not super interested in cars. I can't stand driving my family car (a Prius), but I really like driving my dad's BMW. I hate the rules of the road, if they weren't there I'd love driving.
-I like theory, to an extent. I'm an Engineering major; the way that these models accurately describe real-life machinery amazes me. I absolutely hated my Physics 2 class last semester though; a lot of electromagnetism makes no sense at all to me. I've loved all my math classes up through Diff Eq, except for Calc 3. Had some issues with the three-dimensional stuff.
-I'm considerably lazy. The Internet is a fantastic distraction, but I'm always at my happiest when I'm up and about, doing things. I don't really exercise, and am pretty gangly as a result, but I plan on working out next semester.

So what do you all think? Is there a possibility I've mistyped myself for a while now?

I post a quote from another thread I posted in, I hope that helps! :proud:

ISTP

 • Does not mind confronting people at all, but does it only to point out "critical errors" in someone's course of action, thoughts, plans, rules or opinions. Does not enjoy doing it, but ISTP knows that it works like a charm.

• Appreciates aesthetic beauty in fashion and arts, but more than so, appreciates when something is pure, accurate, stripped off of any unnatural, artificial and needless details. ISTP has a good tingling detector for bullshit, aka when someone says things that can be very easily proven otherwise. Good example would be going to a restaurant with ISTP and he/she mentions that food tastes horrible. You say that it doesn't matter, because this place has great atmosphere and owner is a nice person, to which ISTP quickly spots out that restaurant's main focus should be on food, and food is horrible, thus it's a bad restaurant.

• Considers rules to be essential in society, but only when ISTP can see how he/she can benefit from these rules. If there is no benefit, ISTP makes own rules and when others find that unacceptable, ISTP either conforms with angst, or finds a way to harrass these people until they give in, or until ISTP is kicked out of the party.

• Knows exactly what must be done to achieve success, sees all the necessary steps that has to be taken to achieve specific goals, but lacks the inner drive and motivation. ISTP often needs external motivation to reach the goals.

• It's most important to ISTP's to be able to live life by their own terms. When this is denied to them (mostly by extroverted thinkers), they become angst-ridden, depressed, angry or antisocial.

• ISTP's can focus the most when people speak on topic, speak about one thing at the time, and say or do things that are relevant at the current moment. ISTP's can focus the least when people are absent-minded, speak in double meanings and jump from one topic and problem to another, going back and forth between many issues at a time.

Music example that describes ISTP style

INTP

 • Does not really like to confront people, prefers to prove people wrong without confronting them.

• Does not really appreciate aesthetic beauty, but does really enjoy describing how different aesthetic features connect or link together with different concepts, and how this kind of connection (sort of) makes sense. Enjoys blurring the line between abstract/philosophical and reality. Wants to prove people that ultimate knowledge is knowing that nothing can be known for sure, but one can philosophize about everything. Only INTP could be concerned by finding ways to reach to another dimensions, just to prove that he/she is not living in the matrix right now, designed by a skynet-tier supercomputer.

• Considers general rules to be useful, when people benefit from them. If not, INTP is interested in suggesting an improved version of them. If INTP's suggestions are ignored or ridiculed, INTP retreats into a shell and finds a way to abuse them, but not to be a rebel, but because when rules are abused by someone, only then their flawed nature gets attention by others, and encourages initiative for change.

• Does not lack the ability to perceive the road to success, and has plenty of inner drive to follow down the path, but the only thing stopping INTP's is their peculiar definitions of success. For example, INTP wants to become an artist, but is convinced that if he/she can't draw perfect circles, the drawing will be flawed and look disproportional. There are many of similar kind of pet peeves that disturb INTP's from reaching to success.

• INTP's can focus the most when people remain calm, bring plenty of examples to illustrate their points and compare different things that belong under the same context. INTP's can focus the least when somebody is being overly passionate or dead serious and can't bring themselves to a friendly discussion or a controlled debate over the issue.

Music example that describes INTP style (Very famous punk band from my homeland and one of their few songs they've released in english. Their frontman, the singer, is inarguably an INTP.)

While INTP style seems so similar to INFP style, the fundamental difference is that the same topics that excite INTP's are frustrating INFP's, and vice versa. There are not many cases where INTP's and INFP's are equally passionate about the same thing. Also, INTP's and INFP's generally notice the same things, but connect them differently.

I think you're ISTP. Even with what you've written on the INTP category actually can also point towards ISTP-ness; the fact that you're happiest when you're up and about doing things, and the fact that you like theoretical stuff when it can be linked to real-life things or at least things that you have an interest in (which I think means that you like theoretical things for practical purposes, or at least for something you can connect to real life).
