Hey all,

I created a random thread so that you can post your thoughts on Hello Kitty (inspired by the fact that Mister Jordan now has a Hello Kitty avatar for the moment).

Since I was curious to find out her MBTI type and I was looking it up, I found that someone on the PerC forum had posted a link to this website: Hello Kitty Hell. The website shows different Hello Kitty products that have been made. Some of the pictures I found on this website were kind of weird, whether or not they are fake.

Also, apparently Hello Kitty is an ENFP. Do you agree with this?

Do you have any friends who are obsessed with Hello Kitty? How obsessed are they?

When I was working as an RA, one of the RAs in my building was obsessed Hello Kitty. She made our RA-on-duty board using a Hello Kitty theme. It was pretty cool. That person also carried a Hello Kitty backpack, had Hello Kitty sunglasses, and had some Hello Kitty stickers on her wall. That friend was a cool person.

Well, I don't really care one way or another. If some girls are into it, ok, that's cool. If it's a guy we're talking about, he's either "gay" or an attention-seeker (probably the latter, 9 times out of 10).

Outwardly harmless, but there's something sinister about it. You'll begin to feel it the longer you look at it.

It's difficult to type the character without having observed it in action. Is there an actual anime??

No one among my friends, but I'd say this guy is pretty obsessed:

That picture is freakish. hahaha.

Maybe there's not an anime of Hello Kitty, but I do think there have been Hello Kitty films. I'm not sure if these films are 30-minute films designed for children.

Putting her in a film does seem pretty lame to me. I think she should just stick to being a picture on Sanrio products (like backpacks, coloring books, supply cases, bed sets for children, etc.)

There ARE 30 minute Hello Kitty films, and they are made for children. Apparently Kitty has a sister named Mimi. And with their parents, they're an "itty bitty pretty kitty family," according to the theme song. I have a younger sister, okay!?

Hello Kitty is pretty cool, I guess. I understand the appeal. It's just like a brand-name... you buy whatever kind of item BECAUSE it is Hello Kitty/Sanrio.
All of the women pharmacists at the hospital I worked at all worshiped Hello Kitty (they are all Asian, idk if this has anything to do with anything or not). They had those nifty Hello Kitty pens that had different colors of ink (all pharmacists have those kinds of pens though), and they had Hello Kitty stickers on their lockers.

Hello Kitty is NOT evil. ¬_¬ It's just a way to express femininity, just like Victoria Secret's PINK brand and other girly brands.

I have a 3 year old daughter. I am exposed daily the following (but not limited to):

Hello Kitty
My Little Ponies
Tinkerbell & friends
Disney Princesses
Dora the Explorer
La La Loopsie

All manner of girly things too pink, purple and sparkly to be imagined.

I'm not exactly complaining though :) I love girly things, Hello Kitty being no exception.

To be fair my daughter and I also enjoy pirates, dinosaurs and racing hot wheels cars. Variety is key :)

But back to Hello Kitty, I have no problem with her, she's adorable! I do however dislike that she is a marketing machine and that her face is plastered on all sorts of useless junk in order to get me, the parent, to purchase said junk.

*checks sub forum to make sure it says ISTJ*

Knew someone who was CRAZY about Hello Kitty. She had Hello Kitty everything (dishes, scales, computers, no kidding). She was only a year or two younger than me. She was also a sociopath. Literally. But I don't think it was related to the Hello Kitty thing. Or maybe it was. Who knows?

For the record, the most hysterical Hello Kitty product ever

Bummer, the pic wouldn't post so I had to just post a link.

And this is definitely one for "unlikely ISTJ threads".

Maybe those who have obsessions are more likely tobe sociopaths. But you don't have to be obsessive to like Hello Kitty. My RA friend/Hello Kitty fan was cool, though she could be a bit emotional at times (though it did make her better at dealing with others' emotions). I think she was an ESFJ.

I guess it's fine to put Hello Kitty on a gun, so long as little children don't want to play with it just because Hello Kitty's on it. But I sure would make fun of someone if they were shooting a Hello Kitty gun.

I was never into Hello Kitty but I see nothing wrong with her. I had a friend who was really into her. I have a Hello Kitty stuffed toy from Japan that's dressed up like a geisha. My sister, who lived in Japan for 4 1/2 years, got it for me. When I went to Japan to visit her, there were a ton of Hello Kitty merchandise in the Tokyo airport.

I was kind of bummed that I saw a Pikachu stuffed toy for sell in a store window while walking the streets of Tokyo and I never got it. My dad promised to go back and get it later, but we never did. When I told my sister that we never got it, she promised she would pick one up for me. But she never did either and now she's been back in the States for 6 years.

Interesting. When I first read the thread title, I thought it said "Thoughts on Hello 317", hahahaha.
I've never liked Hello Kitty. I've no idea why either. I also have never liked the color pink or red. I don't know if it's related or not. But when I was young, I liked My Melody or Little Twin Stars more. Never Hello Kitty though. Although Hello Kitty was way more popular.

Btw, Miss Jordan or Mister Jordan?

Also, apparently Hello Kitty is an ENFP. Do you agree with this?
Oh no. I hope not. Not that I like Hello Kitty, but she seems like an introvert to me. She seems very quiet. Although I've never heard her "talk", lol

Yes, one of my friends is Hello Kitty's super fan! I think if a female who's still obsess with Hello Kitty after a certain age, it's kinda immature or childish I should say.

I can't believe I just read this entire thread! lol I am so not girly...never got the Hello Kitty thing. Emily The Strange is more up my alley of fictional characters...but then again I'm a "dark" INFP!

I legitimately have 2 hello kitty plushies within 1 foot of me right now:crazy:! I'll list all the hello kitty stuff in my room that I can actually see right now: A little plushie of her, a really big plushie of her, a deluxe hello kitty sticker book, a money box, a set of hello kitty manilla folders, a blanket, a bobble head thing of her, hello kitty temporary tatoos ( I got them for my birthday as a bit of a joke ), a big, hard folder with her on it ( I'm not sure what you call those (^-^;) and hello kitty body spray:crazy:! I swear I'm not even that into hello kitty, but whenever I see her on something I NeEEED IT... I have a bit more stuff that I can't see too! She always seemed like an ESFJ to me... I don't know, just her face looks like it XD? I think My Melody is INFP, and I think Gudetama is ISFP? I LOVE gudetama! Do any of you guys know him?

This is pretty off topic but I want to type all the sanrio characters I know!
Hello Kitty:ESFJ
My Melody: INFP
Melody's sister ( is it kurumi?): EXTP?
Gudetama:ISXP?
Dear Daniel: ISFP
Cinnamoroll: ENFP
Chococat: Definitely INFJ... You can tell from his face:crazy:
Bad Badtz Maru: ISTP
Chibimaru: ENFP
kiki:ESFP
Lala:ISFJ
That's all the ones I remember! And even though he's san-x, I think rilakkuma is ISFP?
