Yes, and this is an aspect you cannot perceive in films. Perspectives are drowned by emotional playing and manipulation from the sensory experience of stunning views, along with captivating musical chords, and unique camera angles. All of this is wonderful for the cinematic experience, but does not do well for those who wish to engage with the characters on a deeper level. I understand the need for these qualities in films, especially as it makes for a more interesting and engaging story, however, character development is often lost. This is what is, I find, to be the most prevalent in novels.
Absolutely! All things I love about movies...but I don't grow to know and love the characters as deeply as I do in a novel.
That would be lovely and quite intriguing. It would be as if we were peeking into the various layers of the INFJ, a blossoming bloom.
Yes. Getting a wide cross section would be awesome. Especially when you've got people with randomly high cognitive functions, like Si or Se.
James Joyce and Hermann Hesse I think were INFJs, and Stephen Dedalus from Portrait/Ulysses and Harry Haller from Steppenwolf (as @HorribleAesthete brought up) are their fictional doubles.
Nice! Love adding more to my reading list.

I think I will go with Colonel Kurtz from Apocalypse Now. I know he is an evil/unhealthy INFJ, but I think I can understand him and his actions. Being used like a puppet by corrupt warmongers in a war where so many died for nothing would turn me into a dark and cold-hearted man too. And yet, despite all of his evil deeds and a darkened mind, there was still a place in his soul where his old good self was waiting for someone to put him out of his misery.

Izuku Midoriya
From the anime My Hero Academia (Boku no hero academia). In a world full of quirks, 95% of the population developed abilities known as quirk's and hero's are the most revered people in the world. Izuku Midoriya also known as Deku "the one who can't achieve/do anything" is quirkless minority; something that makes him considered useless in the world - yet from a young age he fell inlove with his dream to be like the greatest hero (Almight) and he wants to save people with a smile on his face, he aspires to become the symbol of peace.

Despite the uphill battle and the impossibility of his dream, he hangs on to it and pursues it as an obsession (he watches and researches hero's/villans when they fight and writes tips/tricks/lessons in his notebook which is titles"Hero analysis for the future"). He finds his way of following his dream through his journey.

He is far from being fearless, confident or sharp - but he is determined to reach his goal and to surpass everyone that is competing against him. He has a soft and kind demeanour, he is logical and always tries to think through sticky situations and always shows courage when facing a situation that he perceives will lead him to being the idealized hero he dreams to be.
Here are some of my favourite gifs that express his personality lol.

(To Katsuki Bakugou) "I'm not gonna be your worthless punching bag Deku forever... Kacchan. I'm... I'm the Deku who always does his best!"

"You are just a quirkless hero fan boy, but you were more heroic than anyone else there"
"The most important qualification of a hero… The spirit of self-sacrifice!"

I recommend watching this anime.

I’m not an INFJ but Fox Mulder, from The X Files, has always been one of my favorite characters.

I relate a lot to Naruto, we share the same idealism towards friends and society.
Also, his decision to act like a comical idiot in order to get the attention of people is something I also relate to as I also do the same to a few people in my life.

Funny the lengths you would go just for someone to notice you.

According to my Sister, star wars edition:

Sabine Wren from Star Wars Rebels. An artist just like her!

Jaina Solo, from the Star Wars Expanded Universe/ Legends books.

Luke Skywalker, from the original films.

I don't know for sure what type I'd call Elsa from Frozen, and I'm not going to get into a debate over her, but for the thread's purposes, I identify with her pretty strongly.

I relate to Merlin from the 2008 BBC TV show quite a bit, and I do think he's INFJ (as always, opinions and typings vary).

To a lesser extent, I relate to Shiro from the new 2016 remake of the 80's Voltron cartoon series, titled 'Voltron: Legendary Defender'. I've typed him as INFJ though there's too little info on the characters so far to be sure. He has a strong leader-like streak in him which I can sort of detect from how protective I can get and feel within me.

But yeah, Elsa's at the top of the list so far, for me.

Captain Nemo, because he is the savior of the downtrodden and the malcontents.

Guinan, from Star Trek TNG

Some say it was because of Guinans time inside the Nexus - an alternate reality where one's mind shaped their existence, dreams were lived, and time was meaningless - that made her so intuitive... because of her "echo", a part of herself left behind in the Nexus when she was "rescued".

Somehow, I really identify with that.

Also... everything about the way she gives advice to others, is so familiar to me.
The way she delivers it.
How she knows what buttons to push to get people to seek the answers for themselves.
The balance between her own emotion and her logical control when speaking to others.

Here, have some short youtube videos of Guinan scenes:
(missing one scene I SO wanted, but it's not on youtube, oh well)

Shinji Ikari, from Neon Genesis Evangelion

I've read a lot of different analysis of his character, some people think INFJ and others think ISFP. And I guess I can't really say much other than the fact I can relate a lot to his character. But I relate to him on the deepest and innermost level, on the level I hide from the rest of the world, if that makes any sense.

Watching him in Neon Genesis reminded me of the feelings I felt as a child, and those that I even have now but have forced myself to hide and avoid.

Mainly: Galadriel from Lord of the Rings. Her "mirror" is like my intuition, and she is a gift giver. Here is a site that shows the MBTI types for all the LOTR characters: http://cdn.churchm.ag/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/LOTR-Personality-Chart4.jpg

Honorable mentions:
Guinan (Star Trek the Next Generation)
Belle (Beauty and the Beast--Disney)
Cole Sear (Sixth Sense)
Joshua Beal (Wide Awake)
